Jumanji: The Next Level (2019)
Better than the first movie.
After the first movie, I felt disappointed in the reboot/sequel. However this film is a great improvement. I especially liked how The Rock and Kevin Hart actually had to act. They usually just play themselves in movies, even if towards the end they do, but for the most part they got into their character roles pretty well considering their usual acting style. Great 12A/PG-13 movie.
Dolittle (2020)
Rushed and poorly executed.
So many things wrong with this, namely RDJ's ambiguous "British" accent. I felt he was imitating Lord Petr Baelish. Regardless, this film needed less arbitrary plot lines and desperately required an extra hour of screen time to elaborate on the majority of the storylines introduced. I'm sure if you have children they will enjoy the film, as that is the target audience. I feel the film rushed too many scenes that would have actually been enjoyable to watch in favour of non-important dialogue.
Bleach: Burîchu (2018)
The meme of the Netflix adaptation can be no truer.
Do yourself a favour and just read the manga. The anime was lackluster too, due to the arbitrary side storylines. If you HAVE to watch this terrible, terrible adaptation - watch it in the Japanese dub. It makes it less cringy but only minutely. Even with a decentish budget - certain things only look good in traditional animation; even a multi-billion dollar corporation like Disney, this is no different.
Aladdin (2019)
It's actually a good film. Will Smith did a great job!
I went to watch the movie today. I was speculative at first, thinking it wouldn't be good. However I actually thoroughly enjoyed it. Will Smith did well, I was on the Robbin Williams bandwagon but it has to be said; Will did a great job. I would give the film 7.5/10.
Batman vs Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2019)
Crazy nostalgia trip!
I grew up on the original TNMT and 90's Batman animation. I loved them both and to see both team up was such a trip down memory lane. If you're a fan of both you'll love this. There are some missed opportunities and jokes that didn't land (hence the rating) but as a whole, it was a great film to watch. I loved it.
Doragon Bôru Sûpâ Burorî (2018)
Call me Kakarot
If you're a dragonball fan, you NEED to watch this movie. Definitely one of the best ones.
School Dance (2014)
Don't waste your time.
There's like 4 funny scenes. The rest of the movie is terrible. Save yourself some time and watch the funny bits on YouTube.
The Meg (2018)
I feel they tried to appeal to the Chinese market too much here.
I feel they tried to appeal to the Chinese market too much here. Bingbing is a terrible actress in this movie. It honestly felt like Jason was single handedly carrying the film on his back. You need more than just a big name to have a good movie. Like maybe have a plot? A script? They gave too much screen time to certain characters, where they should have focused on other things, like developing a story.
