A fairly fun cartoon
19 October 2021
Yes, it's a reboot of the old series, so some of the characters and story beats have changed. With that said, it still pays homage and gives respect to the old stories, mythos, and most importantly the fans. Good guys are virtuous and try to do their best, while bad guys are clearly bad. It doesn't break much new ground, but feels as fun as the old show did.

It's "cats and dogs" minus the charm and pre internet innocence of the original
31 December 2020
Warning: Spoilers
This is a story of a girl who knowingly catfishes and then with the aid of another girl, sexually assaults the boy they catfish. Why is a girl giving a guy the bait and switch on consensual physical intimacy cute, or rewarded in the end? It stops being cute when the roles are reversed. "That" scene in Revenge of the Nerds? That's a felony. And then to end the whole movie with this hot dumpster of a character not only being forgiven but full on rewarded? Eff this stupid story

I regret giving this movie a shot
18 December 2020
It would have been more entertaining to watch the amount of acrobatics and gymnastics it took behind the scenes , to try and make a cohesive story out of these two disparate ghost tales. It's like the old saying goes, you can lead a murder obsessed vengeance ghost to a haunted house, but you can't make the house bound vengeance ghost fight her

I had put off watching this one..
8 December 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I had putting off watching this latest offering in the terminator series, owing to all the negative crap I had heard about it when it came out... it's 2020 and 'Rona makes for strange bedfellows and here we are. I went into this movie with low expectations; just willing to give it a shot. I gotta say I was pleasantly surprised - Genysys had already thrown out the idea of the timeline getting kinda wonky, so it didn't surprise me that they went in a similar direction here. At the same time, bringing back characters from the original timeline in sort of new ways. I personally don't understand why it got as much hate as it did. The CG can be a little wonky/ floaty feeling, but didn't completely take away from the action. The action is as over the top as you'd expect time traveling murder robots to bring; and the idea behind the new terminator's abilities brought some interesting twists to the fight scenes. I had fun watching it, and feel like it has potential for the future of the franchise. If nothing else, it's a fun dumb action romp to kill some time during quarantine

Say bye bye to bad rubber costumes
3 April 2019
Gone are the days of pre Power Rangers camera tricks and goofy rubber suits. This version is animated, and beautifully done as well. No more bad lip syncing. I'm enjoying the legacy aspect of the story as well... handing the mantel from father to son. If you are a fan of the old ultraman, guyver, or even the power rangers; give this show a shot!

This is one fun movie...
11 February 2019
In the vein of the old Godzilla/ giant monster attacks type movie. It hits the marks on quite a few cliches, but turns its nose up at others. A really enjoyable action / sci fi/ popcorn flick. Honestly one of the best video adaptations of a video game I've seen.

I didn't know I needed this until I watched it
14 January 2019
Having heard all the terrible reviews when it was in theaters... I waited to watch until it was available streaming. It still feels wrong to call anyone but Harrison Ford Han ... but if you can get past that, it's a really cool movie. There's nothing here that's ground breaking, it's just cool to see Han and Chewie doing there thing and becoming the heroes we know and love. Donald Glover plays a fantastic Lando. All in all, a fun addition to the Star Wars mythology. I'd pay to see a further story, or even follow the story of Enfys Nest and the birth of the rebellion.

If Asylum studios attempted to do outrageous acts of science..
13 January 2019
As a fan of "Outrageous Acts of Science" , I was looking forward to seeing what direction another company could take the idea. Unfortunately their idea was to make a cheap knockoff of OAS. From the presentation of the "experts", to green screen backgrounds, to the blueprint style fonts, it all feels like a cheap attempt at being OAS. The narrators voice makes me feel like I need to cough or clear my throat. Where this show does shine however, is that there are many different clips and interviews, lots of it pretty interesting to a geek like me. It isn't without any merit, just as long as you are aware of what it is you're in for.

I kept waiting for the good part...
1 October 2018
I'm a lover of horror and suspense movies. Having heard about this movie, and how highly recommended it was, I watched with great anticipation! And then I waited, and waited, and waited... I kept waiting for this movie to take off and be the fantastic movie I'd heard everyone say it was. It never happened. I feel like this movie pushed itself right to the verge of taking off and being great, but stalled out and lingered there; wallowing in mediocrity.

It's like a train wreck from which you can't look away..
1 October 2018
I don't think I've ever seen a show so based in egotism and vanity since I last watched the Kardashians... I get that different people hold different things important.. but this subject is treated as if winning best beard will end world hunger, aids, war, and poverty all at once. If you want to see a slice of how some other people live their lives, watch it... at the very least it's mildly entertaining as to how super serious these people get.
