Cento mega hertz (2003)
movement ed and obscure thriller
Cento Mega Hertz is a double title: it means either a higher eye frequency than that human, and at the same time also the frequency of a radio, in a haunted house, in a haunted and dark wood, probably a hope for a beautiful woman running hopeless...
The woman looked something of terrible: it seems the "thing" touched the woman, attempted to kill her, but she was able to run out, and now the "thing" is haunting her in the wood When she arrive in to the haunted house, nothing could help to save her, exception an old radio, the only object for a communication ! She's searching desperately somebody can help her, and when the lancet stop in 100mhz...
A magic and at the same time obscure atmosphere for a very high tension short noir, a very good photography by Massimo Proietti-Sette and best production (in my opinion) of Sergio Ruffino productions,
Il re è morto... evviva il re! (2004)
The man who wanted be a sovereign and a revealed Palermo
A very strange but beautiful and touching real story of Salvatore Di Falco (aka "Don Totò", called also "Iron Head"), a poodle and clothes-dealer, arrived in to Palermo during the end of the Second World War (about 1943), when American allied went in to Sicily to join themselves to the Italian soldiers.
Don Totò appropriated himself a famous building in Palermo, the "Steri", one a time residence of the terrible Sicilian Inquisition: he closed all doors and gates, and proclaimed himself as a king of the Steri. And so was for about fifty years !! Cause nobody and no institutions in to Palermo were able to pursue Don Totò from the Steri.
It seems King Di Falco received a special permit to stay here by General Poletti, during 1945, but today there are no proofs about this non existent agreement.
When Don Totò died, in 2003, University of Palermo (the new tenant of Steri) succeeded to enter in to King Di Falco's property, and discovered a face of Palermo disguised for about a middle century !! A touching real story of a man who wanted be a sovereign, winner against all Palermo Institutions (such as University) that attempted to expel him from here. A very beautiful documentary in which a human event is joined to the famous story of the Steri palace, once a time a building realized for a residence of the Inquisition in Palermo.
one of the most important historical document of a new revealed city.
Il giorno dopo (2002)
a magnificent love story !!!!!!!
a magnificent love story, whit out preconceptions, prejudices and hypocrisy.
The story of a couple of "soul", raised in an anonymous city, friends and soon lovers, and the love will join them for ever...
Sergio and Simo are children's: they meet themselves watching out the windows of respective buildings.
Fort about twenty years they stay together looking out themselves from the two balconies, and then: the death of the grand mother of the boy, the fear of a "waste", the course to "that garden", the embrace, the sweetness...the love...
One of the most touching short movie of the talented Ruffino.
I cried...
Deliverine (2003)
a wonderful example of horror cinema!
Deliverine is certainly one of the most terrible but so beautiful short in the area of the independent gore and splatter productions in Italy.
It's one of many Sergio Ruffino's movies but it has been his first horror short: no monsters, no violence, no splatter, a few blood and a lot o very intensive and continuous big tension: an alone man, in an alone trap door inside a... ("prison"?) is waiting for...something...probably a forgiveness, for something that has made many years old (or two hours ago?) and a mystery bride woman vanished in strange conditions.
Now shrieks and strange no-words painted domains the scene, while the man gets ready to... "delivering" himself!
Who love horror and a big tension dose can't miss Deliverine! Great Sergio!
from Diego!
