Batman (1989)
Holy Overrated Batman........
The Cons= Before we begin I know that a lot of people might want my head on a spike for my Review as I know that to most, this is their 'End All Be All Don't Touch This Batman Don't Talk Bad About This Batman Film Or Something Bad Well Happen To You' Batman Film. I of course Feel Much Deferent and hare's why. To start I Feel that this Film was Way Over Hyped And Way Over Advertised, as it is stated in one of the Special Features for this Film. Around the time that this Film Came Out people where Vandalizing and Breaking the Law Just to get their Hands on This Batman's Poster. And Paying for tickets to see Movies they Don't Care About just to see the Trailer for this Batman Film and then Leaving Right Afterwards. And they even said that some people even tried to contact them to see if they could Buy the Trailer for this Batman Film. And they even said that when this Batman Film Finally Came out there Lines For days out side of Movie Theaters, just like it was for the Newest And Latest iPhone Sales for a Time. See Over The Top Hyped And Over The Top Advertised.
And now we get to what I Feel about the Film itself the First and Foremost I really don't like both the Character and Actress of Vicki Vale. I found her to be a Meh actress and as for her Character of Vicki Vale, I Personally found her to be Not Just Eye Candy. And Not Just A Hapless Damsel In Distress and not just a Trophy for Bruce Wayne and The Joker and Alexander Knox. And not only I found her Annoying Beyond Imagination and Not Only I found her to be a B especially in that one scene where she thinks that Bruce Wayne had stood her up back at the Museum the night before. But also Vicki Vale Screams a lot through out the film and not only that but also I just found her as a character to be on the flat side. In fact she Really Reminds me of Kristin Kreuk version of Lana Lang from Smallville the Less said about that show The Better. But at least Kristin Kreuk doesn't scream through out most of the show unlike with Kim Basinger's Vicki Vale in this film as I have said. I'm sorry I just don't like either of those two.
And speaking of Vicki Vale I Feel that her scene with Bruce Wayne in the Batcave just down right Feels like a Cheap Day Time Soap Opera Scene, all because of the Dialogue that they Delivered. And I know that Most People are Not Happy With Alfrid bringing Vicki Vale in to the Batcave they even Sadly Referenced that in the Sequel Batman Returns but for me I'm more 'Ah Whatever' attitude with that scene aside from Vicki Vale if course. Now we move on to all of the Catch Phrases of the film, I Feel that all of Phrases in the film are over used to the Point where they started coming off like Bad Jokes to me. Especially the Phrase of "I Am Batman" to which it feels like it is a must that Every Batman Live Action or otherwise has to have to say that very same line. And that's not the only line but also the "Wanna Get Nuts Let's Get Nuts!" and "Ever Dance With The Devil In The Pail Of Moonlight?" and "Where Does He Get Those Wonderful Toys?" are also overstated even if they weren't used as much.
Hare's one of the Many Thing s that Annoys me the most when it comes to the Third Act, and that is If Batman in the Bat Plane Had The Joker in His Sights with Visible Digital Crosshairs and Missed? When he Fired Ever Single Over The Top Armaments that he has and still Missed, mean while with The Joker was Able to Take Him Out the Bat-Plane and Making it Crash with just a Single Bullet from a Normal Hand Gun? But before that I just Feel that when Batman Brought the Bat-Plane Up to the Full Moon and Stopped for a Hot Minute before Dropping back down. Was a Really Cheap and Nonsensical Way of giving the GCPD the Idea for his Famous and Future Bat Signal, but I understand why they did that way it's just unfortunate that isn't any better way of giving the GCPD the Bat Signal Idea.
Anyways instead of The Joker Using just Regular Death Gas I think it would have been more character themed if they had him use, a Laughing Death Gas instead. In the Museum Scene after all he does still have Laughing Death Make-Up and Laughing Death After Shave, so why Not Have Him Use Laughing Death Gas? Again just to make it Character Themed, that would be like having Batman Use Regular Ninja Stars or Shuriken instead of Batmerangs. Anyways going back to the Third Act what's been Itching at me ever since that I watched it was what was that Attached to Batman's Gantlets when he was Fighting that One Goon in Gotham Cathedral?
And what I'm talking about was when Batman was Fighting that one Goon In Gotham Cathedral, he held out his Gantlet and when he did it looks like some kind of Screen or something with a Whole Bunch of Knives Sticking out of it. I never can tell as it was also not only too quick but also too dark to see exactually what it was. Then this next one is kind of a Nitpick I felt that Bob The Goon had been done Dirty, as he was not only the only Goon that had a Name and not only he was the Only Goon that was the Forefront the Most so much so they even made a Action Figure Based on him. But also he was the one with the most character out of all of the Goons and Dialogue as well. And I kind of don't believe he deserves to be shot like that by The Joker with his own Gun By The Way all Because The Joker was Upset with Batman Stealing his Balloons and Ruining his Crazy Plans and wanted some time to think.
And speaking of The Joker I just Feel that Jack Nicholson has been some what Type Casted as this would be the Third Role that I know of, that he has played a Crazy or Psycho Character. Unfortunately every time that I see him now all I could think of either The Joker or more than Likely Jake Torrance from The Shining. In fact in the scene of The Shining where he is Looming over that Model of The Hedge Maze I could help but not only see him as The Joker but also See him in The Joker amongst other scene in The Shining. Now for my Next Point I have to Wran You it Has Nothing To Do With Skin Colour this Character could be a Blue Alien is all I care. I just Feel that Billy Dee Williams was the Perfect Role for Harvey Dent aka Two Face.
Again Nothing To Do With Skin Colour I just think he Fits the Role as I feel that One he Does Not Have the Right Body Type for it Even for Back Then. Two he looks slightly too Old to Potentially become Two Face, and Three His Performance Felt a Little too Gentle as I'm not Getting any Dark Edge to His Character at all. I just don't Feel that his Version of Harvey Dent was in any danger of Lossing His Temper at any point of the Film, unlike with Aaron Eckhart's Version in The Dark Knight. Not That I Thought that Billy Dee Williams was a Bad Actor or anything like that just Mis-Casted. Now moving on to the Mayor Of Gotham I just found that Line of his the one about him telling the person that he's on the phone with, that he doesn't care if they needed to Put A Gun to everyone's Heads if they have to just to get them to attend the Gotham's 200th Year Celebration. I know it's a Big Celebration and All But Dang that's like something that a Crazed Villain would say. And unless I'm forgetting anything else that should do it for the Cons.
Th Pros= As Big as Trash Pile that I Feel this movie is there are some Pros not much at least I still have them starting with I Really Like the Gritty and Grounded Take of the Film and all of the Environments in the Film, as I Fits with the Batman Character and The Story whatever that was that they try to tell. And I Really truly Like Not Only the Batman Theme but also all of the Songs in the Film as well. They may not fit the scene or even the film but they certainly are memorable and in the Case of Prince's Partyman really Iconic to the Film right up there with the Batman March Theme. Then there are the Batmobile, Bat-Plane, the Bat Costume and Icon I may not like the film but I do like appreciate how Iconic each of those things are especially in the case of the Batmobile. Because when you mention Batmobile it's usually this Version as the Dark Knight Version is More Like Bat-Tank instead of your Traditional Batmobile.
I just don't know why a lot of people are saying that Both Jack Nicholson and Michael Keaton where Miscast. As in this instance I Beg the Defer as I feel that both Jack Nicholson and Michael Keaton were Phenomenal in each of their Respective Roles. However it is true that both Heath Ledger and Christian Bale are My Personal All Time End All Be All Joker and Bruce Wayne/Batman Respectively. But Both Jack Nicholson and Michael Keaton are my second Joker and Bruce Wayne/Batman Respectively again despite how I Feel about this Film, it's just the Film itself I have a Problem with And Not These Two Actors. That should do it for the Cons for now unless I'm forgetting anything else.
Barb Wire (1996)
I Don't Fully Hate It At Least.......
The Cons= Now I'm not sure if it was the acting or more than likely the Script but I Personally Found that the Barb Wire character on the Stiff and Emotionless side. Sure I get it the Character has been through a Lot being a Soldiers and all of that, but I just wished they would have had a little more personality than that we got. Because every time that she's on screen it's like the only Emotion that she shows is Hurt And Anger. And sure I'm not expecting her to Make Wise Cracks or anything like that but I was hopping to get something more than just Hurt And Anger. Or least more of it as she does display a Smidge Bit more than Anger and Hurt, but those are so quick that they are literally Blink And You'll Miss it. And even then that was Only Less than One Percent of the Film. In Fact I Feel that Kyle Reese Had More Of a Personality than her in the First Terminator Film, and he also went through a Lot Before Going Back In Time and Doing the Events of the Movie.
Oh sure I get it part of that was due to her Boyfriend? Ex-Boyfriend? But hare's the thing that Annoyed me about that the First Time that he Walked Back in to her life she Kicked him out of her Bar. Then the Next Time that he walked Back in to her Life and her Club She Started Making Out With Him like he was a Long Lost Lover, After Aiming a Gun at him in addition Demanded with Gritted Teeth where her Dog is and to Hand Her a Towel as she was just getting out of her bubble bath in the Same Scene By The Way. Then almost just as quickly she acted as though that Make Out Session in the Elevator Ment Nothing to her, and of course she goes back to being Angary and Hurt.
I guess it's not surprising that the opening scene in the movie is Pamula Anderson Doing a Poll Dance with her Breasts Exposed while being Drenched in Endless Amount of Water, with the Only Patron Screaming All Of These Lude Things to her until he Mistakenly Called her 'Babe.' Well at least hey have that as a little Bit of a Character Flaw for her. The Scene By The Way Lasts for about 3 Minutes. But the DVD Outtakes Bonus Feature of this Scene has Been Extended to 10 Minutes. But I do like the song that they choose for it though I'll give them that so much so I just had to Eventually Buy the Korn's Greatest Hit CD When it Eventually Came Out just for that One Song. But enough about the Character of Barb Wire for now let's talk about the Character of Cora D.
I feel that the Contact Lenses are not the only McGuffin of the film as Cora D also Feels like a McGuffin. As she basically just there and hare's what I mean the 'Heros' Needed to get her to the Airport, while the 'Villains' wanted her back. And aside from that I don't remember her doing very much through out the film or her having much in the Personality Department. Moving on I find it strange that there are basically No Kids in that world as they could easily have a few kids running around in the streets Background some where or something.
Even Robocop had Kids in their Universe Sure it may not have taken Place in a Simi Post Apocalyptic World, but it mind as well be in the Third Robocop Film. And not only that But the First Two Robocop Films where also R-Rated. Even in the First Terminator they Depicted that there was Still Kids During the Future War Against Skynet, By The Way of A Flashback scene. And even that film was R-Rated. It seems that the Only 'Kids' in the film was Spike and her Crew and even then they are around the Young Adult Age.
Going back to the titled character Barbwire I just found that the Ending scene really Corny and Cheesy. It's just Basically Pamula Delivering a Cheesy Line while Tring to Look as BA as she can in the scene before we get the Camera Striking Twice and to go along with that we also get a couple of Thunder Clap Sound Effects Before Queuing The End Credits and Song. Although at large I didn't mind the acting in the film but wow I found the acting from that guy who was Barb Wire's 'John' in the scene where she was going Undercover as a Prostitute, was really bd so bad in fact that it was Gring Worthy, a little Nitpick of mines I guess? Now we get to the World Building or rather Lack there of as I felt like I only know the Very Bare Bones of this World. True you can't do very much in Terms of World Building in just one film which is why this is one of those films that I Probably wouldn't mind it being at least thirty minutes longer.
And as such I feel that this movie was Strictly for Comic Readers of the Comic to which I Didn't Know that Barbwire was a Comic Until Very Recently. It be like making a Batman Film that I Targeted Mainly at Hardcore Batman Comic Readers, and you who knows nothing about Batman Going in Might Have More Than Enough Questions During and After Watching that Parctulare Batman Film. In fact that is how I feel about During and After Watching Barb Wire to me if you're going to make a Comic Book film. It be Best that you make it Accessible for Non Comic Readers of that Comic as well as Comic Readers of All Levels of that Parctulare Comic Line or Character and I say the same for the Story.
And speaking of Stories I Feel that the Story in Barb Wire was way too Simple and Lacks Complexity, all it is just Bad Guys Wants Both The Contact Lenses and Cora D and Barbwire gets Involved Pretty Cut and Dry in my Opinion. Sure I wasn't expecting a So Complex that it's Confusing Type of story, but I was hoping to get a Few Interesting and Notable Twists Hare or There. One thing that I have noticed through out the film is that The Congressional Loves using Electricity, which includes in both of their Torture scenes kind of on the Unimaginative Side. And not only that by the amount of Electricity that they have used through out the film which includes that Brain Hacking Scene I'm going to call it, as it was never specified what it was that they where doing to that dead man's Mind. Anyways as I was saying by the amount of Electricity that they used for those scenes, technically the lights should have started flickering On and Off and maybe Shout Down but it wasn't.
The Pros= All lot of people seem to have a problem with Pamula Anderson's Acting but also everything else about her. Well I Respectively Disagree I've already talked about her Acting Abilities, now don't get me Wrong I think she's a Fine Actress I'm just not sure if Action was made for her as I quit liked all of the Comedy Roles that she was in. As for everything else about her in this Role that she was Great Not Miss Cast at all like Most People have Clamed her to be. As I Feel that she's Not Only Gorgeous No Doubt About that but also to me Personally She Looks Great In that Leather Outfit of hers Very BA if not for anything else. She makes the movie Feel Like a Very Female Empowerment Movie.
Moving on to her Character's Brother Charlie the Only character that is Noble One while every one else seemed to be out for themselves? As he was the one that urged Barb Wire that since the Contact Lenses didn't belonged to them they should do the right thing, all the while Barb Wire cares about Money and how much she could sell those Contact Lenses for. Next I do like the Dark and Gritty Tone of the Movie as it Fits the World of the movie. I do admit the Torture Scenes are Some What Pulse Inducing In a way. Which includes Colonel Pryzer as I found him Really Villin Like and in a way Kind Of Scary and Intimidating and Effective as a Character to a Degree. As I Felt that his Character started Falling Apart in the Third Act as he went from an Evil Guy to a Full On Psycho in one Act it Feels like. But the Bright side is that after when he sung a few lyrics of 'I Got You Babe' I well never hear that song the same way again. And I find that the Gun Fight Scenes are Pretty Decent. And Unless I'm Forgetting Else that should do it for now.
Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom (2023)
Zack Synder's DCEU Went Out With A Bang Rather Than A Whimper IMHO.........
The Pros= I Really Don't get why this Film is widely Hated sure there are Flaws I won't deny that but to me Personally The Pros Out Weighs The Flaws and hare's why. To start us off I Feel that the Humor is Not Only Still There But Also I found it A Lot More Funnier than the First, as the Constant Smile that I had on my Face wasn't just from How Amazing I found the film, but it was also from the Increased Level In Humor. And I also Found the Forced Team with Arthur and his Step Brother Orm, as it Not Only Reminded me of the Times that Thor was Forced to Team Up With Loki in the MCU not only that they have that very same type and level of Humor too. In fact at times I was pointing to the screen and making compressions to Thor and Loki in the MCU. So much so I had a High Urge to Rewatch Thor Dark World and even Thor Ragnarök as much as I hate that movie.
And just like with Loki I also loved how Slowly through the Film Orm eventually became Redeemed at least in my eyes. All the while through most of the Film you could Tell how Reluctant he was working for his Brother Arthur. He even didn't want Arthur to call him Brother, and I just found that Post Credit Scene with him not only Amusing but really Great. Which was a continuation of the End Scene where Aquaman made his Wonderful Speech to Both The Surface World and I also assume the Atlantes as well. But as Great as that Speech was I just Feel that the Very Tail End of it was a Little Bit Ruin with him Pulling his Usual Aquaman Humor and Pulled a MCU Tony Stark "I Am Iron Man" gag. As it Not Only Ruins The Levity of His Speech and Moment and all of that but also Felt Out Of Place. It be like adding a Random Rock Song During an Intense Scene in a Horror Movie. While the Lone Character in that scene are things like "Who's there? This isn't Funny..." and the like.
Or it would be like a Day Time Soap Opera Show Having a Random Fun Filler Episode where everyone gets along and Nothing Dramatic Happens. They don't even do that in their Christmas Episodes. Moving on to the Fun Fact that The Orichalcum Fuel Really Reminds me of Orichalcos from the Original Yu Gi Oh Anime, in Fact Both in the Anime and In Real Life There is a Card Called The Seal Of Orichalcos. And the fact that the Orichalcum is also Glowing Green just Reminds me of that more. Next is that I just Loved how Beautiful the Film is be it Under The Sea Scenes or the Surface Scenes. Yes Auqaman overcoming the Evil of that Dark Trident maybe done before but that still doesn't lessen the effectiveness of it when it comes to the viewer stand point.
And speaking of the Dark Trident I not only Love the Backstory Behind but I also Loved how it's tied to both King Nereus King Atlan. Others may say that a Super Powered Possessed Black Manta is doing the Character Dirty, not so with me in fact I love it. As it made him that much More Intimidating and Scary and Threatening and it also puts him on the same Power Level as Aquaman. And it makes sense in both story and character stand point. And through him we kind of get this Not In Your Face Climate Change Message and theme through Most of the Film. But before that we get this Fun Little Montage Scene in the Beginning show casing that Arthur would Rather be on the Surface and Having Fun instead of Being in Atlantis and Being King, as he really finds that Extremely Boring and Tedious and they showcase that really well.
The story feels so Great and Easy T o Fallow Along I never Felt Lost at all through out the whole Film. Since all of the other Heroes was not even Mentioned which was Unfortunate especially with a Crisis as Hug as this I would have loved to have at least have some Heroes Getting a Name Drop on the News or something. They would have simply have said on the news Superman is at this certain area to try to help out with the crisis. Or they could have said that all of Bruce Wyan's Satellites had detected this hug global wide crisis, or that Wonder Woman is too Busy on her Island and that's why she couldn't just come and help Aquaman or whatever. But the bright side of not having any Superheroes Mentioned is that this could serve as a Simi Stand Alone Film. And Unless I'm Forgetting Else that should do it for the Pros for now.
The Cons= As Great as this Film is there is still a Few Minor Flaws as I have said, starting with the fact that Can Or Can't that Dark Trident be Magically Put Back Together? Because to me at times I felt that the Two Pieces of The Dark Trident was Magically put Back Together and at other times it was Still Separated in two pieces. And when it came to the Climatic Fight with King Nereus and his Demon Form I have to say it was a little disappointing. In fact it wasn't even a Fight at all it's More Like "I'm Finally Free and now You've Just Defeated me. NOOOOOOOOO!!! AHHHHHHHH!!!" All with in a matter of Minutes. Which makes think that the True Big Bad is Black Manta and Not King Nereus and his Demon Form. Which I'm than fine with that I was just Hoping that King Nereus would at least a little more of a Threat Level than what he was in the film considering How Much They Hyped Him Up Throughout The Film.
And speaking of Copping Out I felt he same about that Kraken I would have like to see more of it as all I could remember was that Kraken being in only Two scenes. The first was when all of its Tentacles Burst Out of its Captivity and started Grabbing everyone. And the Second and Final time was just the noses it made when Black Manta gave Doctor Shin a choice to either stay with him or chance the Kraken, again to which we did not see. And I find kind of strange that we Rarely See Mera with their Son Baby Junior, it was mostly with just Arthur and their Son every time when we get a scene with Junior Baby.
And that was extended to the Opening Montage that was talking about tin the Pro Section, sure there was scene where Mera was with Baby Junior, but it was mostly just Arthur and Baby Junor. It would have been nice to see More of Mera with Baby Junor as so it doesn't make Arthur Feel like a Singel Father. And why is it that Other than Doctor Shin everyone on Black Manta's Crew all just comes off as Mindless Faceless Characters, who just fallows Black Manta's Orders Blindly with out question. True it could be out of Fear but other than Stingray all others are Faceless and Mindless like I have said, and even then I had to look it up on IMDB. And speaking of Doctor Shin I not only like that he is not just one of Black Manta's Mindless and Faceless Lackey's. In fact he had Pure Intentions Through and Through it's just too bad that we don't get too much of him in terms of Character or Character Development. And unless I'm Forgetting Anything Else that Should do it for the Cons.
American Pop (1981)
Made And A Tribute For A For All Music Fans Also Deserves 4K Treatment........
The Pros= I'm going to start with the Obvious I found that the Soundtrack to this film is Beyond Phenomenal and fitting for each Era According to the Generation that we are currently fallowing in the film. More on that a kittle later but for now back to the Soundtrack of this film The Only Problem I have with the Soundtrack with this Film is that Each Song in this Film Feels way too Brief. As each Song Lasts for only about a few minutes or so some Less. But either than that as I have said Brilliant and Fitting to each Era. Not Only the Soundtrack is Brilliant but I also Love Grittiness of the Animation of this Film, it's a Nice Change Up and a Refreshing One at that from all of the Bright and Colorful Disney or Pixar Animations even for Back when I first watched American Pop which was in the Mid to Late 2000's.
Part of the reason is that the Animation was done in the Rotoscope Style instead of the traditional Animation even for back in the Early 80's when this film came out. And speaking of the Animation I also Love How Well the Rotoscope Animation and the Live Action Parts Blends so well, in fact it almost Feels Seamless. Which is why I enjoyed it back then and why it holds up today in the Mid 2020's and why it is still one of most Treasured DVD's even to this day. Which was about ninety percent of my collection the others I got rid of them and or upgraded, which leaves me to just fifteen at this point if you don't include all of the TV Series that I have on DVD. Anyways back to this the only down side to that is that it's one of those Double Sided DVD's. But getting back to this film itself. I really like how realistic all of the characters in this film both look and feel and move in away and on top of all of that I feel that all of the Voice Casting are also Really Great even if they are not Singing. So much so that if I closed my eyes and hear these characters talk I could swear that those are real people on screen and not cartoon or animated characters.
In a way this is a Sad and Beautiful Story sure you won't be brought to Tears by the end at least I didn't. No what I mean by Sad and Beautiful Story is that All but one of the Generation of the Family Tree that we are fallowing did not exactly end as well. But I do admit that my Heart did Break on Two Separate Occasions, the first that opening scene and the second being during the Summertime Song. Speaking of I really like how Well and Smoothly the Transition from One Generation to the Next. As it comes off as so Natural that it feels like One Full Story instead of just when one Generation Ends the movie Cuts to Three Generations Later all of Suddenly. No instead with the father that we where fallowing all this time has become a father, and now we skip to a few years later and at which point we would fallow the son of the said father. And in a way all of the character are Identifiable in some little way it may not be in the literal way where you went through the exact same situation as the character that we are fallowing on screen. No what I'm talking about is that you could put yourself in the situation and in turn makes you feel like you went through a situation that is close to that I hope tat makes sense.
The film also feels like a Documentary in music in a way as the music that they use aren't just randomly Inserted. No they inserted the Era Appropriate Music it's not like they insert a random 60's song in a 80's scene or whatever. A big part of that is that Ralph Bashk and the Rest of the Creative Team that made this film really did their History Research and it Really shows obviously. Which is why we don't have a bunch of random 80's in the 60's Era as I have just stated. I also like how it just focuses on just one family and not a bunch of random families as that would get really confusing quick.
Then we got to the Wedding Scene and Post Wedding Scene I just like how Romantic and Special it feels. But I guess that probably has something to do with the fact that on my Second Viewing as a Young Teen it also Happens to be Day of One of my Cousin's Wedding By Chance. As on that day during the Afternoon I had nothing to do while I was waiting to be taken to the Location of Her Wedding Reception, to Help Set Up or Rather watch my Parent's Help Set up. And speaking of great scenes I also loved that Scene where Tony with Deranged Eyes of his told Little Pete that he doesn't Need or Care about Money All He Cares For and Needs Is Love. When Little Pete tried to Urge him to start Writing Songs Again so that he could start making money again.
Moving on to the Ending Scene I just Loved that Ending Scene as it is not only a Culmination of the Four Generations Hopes and Dreams of getting their foot in the Music Door. And not only I found that the Montage that they added to it Really Touching and Fitting as it helped with that Feeling. But also every time that I watched that ending every time I wondered what was my Ancestors Doing and Were Where when they where my age, and at the time of Day that I was watching American Pop. Let's just say if I was watching American Pop Late at night what was Were was my Ancestors at the time? Or if was watching American Pop at One In The Afternoon something? So and so on. Unless I'm Forgetting anything else that should do it for the Pros.
The Cons= Now as Much as I love this Film and I do there are still Some Cons starting with I feel that the Mister Columbo or whatever his name is? Acted way too much like Typical Mob Boss so much so he Really Reminds me of Tony Soprano especially he started Getting Up Off His Cahir and Yelling and Screaming at the TV Screen. And not only that he also looks like your everyday run of the mill Fat Mob Boss. Next is that this film seems to be Promoting Illegal Drugs as it is a Hug Focus in the Third Act, there's even a Scene where Little Pete Broke The Fourth Wall and Tossed Three Packs of Illegal Drugs at us the Audience. While he was handing the said Illegal Drugs like they where Halloween Candy. In fact that's how Little Pete started out as a Musical Artist and a Success and Famous One at that is by Selling Illegal Drugs. He even used the term of 'Candy Man' when the Band that he was Selling the said Illegal Drugs For Refused to Listen to just one Song of His Own Creation.
I also find it funny that Tony's mom seemed to have disappeared in a later scene, despite him Screaming that she can't hear him yelling and screaming and course at his Younger Step Siblings. Not only that but also we the Audience or even the characters never heard any music. Granted she could be in a room that is far away from the Family Room but hare's the Problem by the Volum of his Voice even she could Hear him, no matter where she is in the house especially when she doesn't have the music load enough to penetrate the walls of what ever room that she happens to be in. And she never even tried to look for him months after he ran away and disappeared she should have at least reported that her car was taken. As he even proudly screamed to the Hitchhikers that he picked up along the way as he was walking away that, the car was stolen one might assume from his mom for obvious reasons. After stopping and leaving the car in the middle of Literally No Where.
And speaking of Tony I just simply found him Unlikable from him Yelling and Screaming and Stealing his mom's car and running away. To him Successfully and Cheese ally Seducing that Waitress and leaving her just after that one night. Probably knowing that he Impregnated her as it was Spear of the Moment Thing for the Both of them and they where in the Middle of a Literal Corn Field. Ending with him being Homeless all the while Knowingly that His Son would Fallow him like a Lost Dog. And then All of a Suddenly Disappearing from his Life Never to Be Seen or Heard From Again. And did I mentioned that he was a Big Time Drug Addict? And yet some how he was able to find Job after Job as it is said that he wasn't able to keep a Job for Long as he always ended up quitting eventually Most Likely when he Got Bored or just Simply didn't want to do the Job that he was working at any more. In fact the only Scene that I like Tony in was that one that I have Mentioned in he Pros Section of my Review.
And I also found it really convent that every Bloodline in this Family has some kind of Super Talent for Music even Tony as he was just Talented Enough to just Write A Single Hit Song and that's about it. I also Feel that it needs a Little More Time to Developed the Characters as all we know was the Core Personalities of Each Character. As we never got to know who are their friends or Tony's Step dad looks like or what his name is, as all we know of him was that he Sells Refrigerators. Or sure those kinds of Information aren't necessary but it would be nice to find a way to Felsh the Characters out in that way.
I also Feel like they are Not Only Glorifying War but also Sexualizing it as they had a Gypsy Stripper with just her Nipples and Lower Area Covered. Dancing in a really sexual and suggestive way, during a War Montage Scene. Sure I get the War Part I Just Wished they had Left out the Gypsy Stripper Part. Going back to unlikable Characters and War I just Feel that Benny is another Unlikable Character. As he Basically Forced His Son to Merry the Daughter of a Mob Boss for his Own Selfish Advantage. And you could already imagine his reactio when he found out that his Son Enlisted Himself in the Army? Aside from all of the Scenes that I have already mentioned there are some Other Violent and Unsettling Scene in one way or another Scenes as well. And Unless I'm Forgetting anything else that should do it for the Cons for now.
Final Thoughts= Overall I Feel that this was one of those Unforgettable Films Which is why I'm wondering Why this Parctulare Film hasn't gotten the 4K Treatment yet? As I feel this film is more than Worthey of that after all I Feel that Lesser and.
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014)
Don't Get The Massive Disappointment And Hate........
The Pros= I feel that this Film was Unjustly Hated Universally which always Baffles me because to be Honest. I'm not a big fan of most Spiderman Films but this I not only Love but I would consider it my Favorites out of all of the Spiderman films that I've tried to Give A Chance to. And hares why, to start us of I really Loved Gwen Stacy's Graduation Speech. Hare's why in the beginning of the fil it comes off as Extremely Hopeful and Somber at the same time. Which I think it Fits so much considering it's a Graduation Speech as I have said. And then at the End of the film that very same Graduation Speech All Of A Suddenly Turns In To A Message of 'Not Giving Up' as it feels like the more fancier, version of the Batman Begins Line of "Why Do We Fall Bruce? So We Can Learn To Pick Ourselves Up." Makes you feel that much more Heartbroken because of what happened, and if you're a Comic Reader or know of the Story or seen this film you know what I'm talking about.
I also like the scene where Peter and Harry go by the river side and just Catch Up with one another's life's all the while skipping rocks across the river. It's such a Simple but also an Important Scene as it shows what Peter's and Harry's Friendship is like and at the same time we the audience get a little bit of History Between the two. Which in when that friendship goes sour you would have already got a sense how these two felt all because of this scene, which in turn makes it that much more easier for you to watch when these two eventually fight each other as Hero and Supervillain, despite them being destined to. Just as much as Thor and Loki where destined to become each other's arch enemy's or the same thing with Professor X and Magneto. Which was why I think one of the Best and My Personal Favorite thing that the Movie Magento had said in the movie was "Oh Charles all of these years of fighting wasted." As it shows that Magento still see and admits to Professor X that he still sees him as a friend despite a deference in Philosophy between the two.
Which I would like to think the same goes for this film's Harry and Peter, and plus in terms of DC character's the kind of Friendship that these two have Really Reminds me of the very same kind of friendship that the Smallvill's Lex and Clark have on that show, regardless of how I feel about that show. Which sort of leads me to my next point of this movie, if you know the story than this shouldn't come as too much of a SPOILER to you. I Personally Feel that Gwen Stacy's Death was really Tragic (Duh). But hare's why I think so not only we the Audience have see these two relationship grow from what it was from the first film. And not only I feel that relationship has grown to the point that you could probably play a 'Will They Or Won't They' Game with these two. And not only these two have Great Chemistry on set that when ever they are on screen together having fun or disagreeing or whatever I really buy it. With hopes that that these two would just stop Flirting with each other and just go on a date already.
And they really did a great job of that by showing you all of the times that these two where on screen together in this film in the form of a Flashbacks. And the last thing that made it so tragic was that when Spiderman/Peter Parker tried to save Gwen Stacy by shooting the string of webbing out, of his hands to catch her by failed obviously. That webbing that he shoot out was made to look like a Tiny Hand try to Catch her before she Hit the Ground. Speaking of that Impact Looked, Felt, and Sounded so Violent and Brutal which adds that much more to it.
I just love it when a Superhero Interacts with a Civilian Especially a Kid in a Casual Non 'Life Saving' situation, it doesn't seem that we get a lot of those. But I'm glade that we got it hare in two scenes as it's not only shows that they Care about that Civilian or Kid Outside of Saving that said Civilian or Kid. But also to me Personally those kinds of scenes are also the most Wholesome scenes that you could get when they are in their Superhero Outfit and Mode.
Moving on to Jamie Fox as Max aka Electro I really like his performance and his design more than his Animated Counterpart in the 94 Spiderman The Animated Series and the Comics. But back to this Electro I really Love how they go out of their way to try to make you the Audience to get some Sympathy for him. Before he becomes Electro the Supervillain and once when he becomes Electro I really loved how they continued on trying to make you feel Sympathy for him. Where as they could have just introduce him and then not show him again until he is all of suddenly Electro. Or they could have made you stop caring for him as soon as he became Electro by having do all of these Stereotypical Supervillain things but they did and I'm Really Happy for that, so much so I found myself Routing for him from time to time even when he became Electro. And I really like the scene where he was introduced as Electro it just feels little more 'Horror Movie' like than Doc Oct's in Spiderman 2's.
Another that Really Impressed me about this film was that even the Slow Scenes have some kind of Propose. They aren't just there to Waste some of the Runtime of the film no to me personally each and every scene have some kind of propose to them. Now we get to the acting which simply is that Personally I feel that Everyone did a Superb Job you could tell that every single one of them where Giving Their All. And because of it I just found all of those Humorous Parts really Amusing so much so that I actually chuckled a little, Any Lesser I just might have found it Out Of Place.
I mentioned how Sad the Ending was but what I failed to mentioned was that Part of the Reason why that scene was so Effective was because of the Chemistry that Both Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone, as Peter Parker/Spiderman and Gwen Stacy Respectively through out the film. In Particular whenever Andrew Garfield is not Spiderman for that scene. Hare's something that I Feel that doesn't Addressed very often especially in a Comic Film and that is PTSD, as in this film although it could have been a in a much stronger focus. But in away I'm glad that it wasn't as it might Drag Down the Flow of the Film either that or make the film an hour longer than it actually is. Not Only I like the fact that Spiderman was dealing with a little bit of PTSD, from the results of the First The Amazing Spiderman Film. But also it was a creative way of connecting this film to the first film aside from the characters.
And having Peter Parker Investigating his Father's Big Secret and how it's tied to his death was really Nice especially if it expands the opening Scene of The First Amazing Spiderman Film which is also the Opening Scene to this Film. Which makes watching this film that much more intruding to watch for me. Aside from the Peter and Gwen interactions I think the second Best Interaction of the film is the ones with Peter and his Aunt May. As it not only most of the Humor of the film comes from scenes involving Aunt May and Peter interacting, but also shows how close they have become ever since the first film. And Personally Sally Field was the Perfect Aunt May for the time. As she isn't the usual Granny Aunt May as I like to call her which was Fine and Dandy especially for the 94 Spiderman Animated Series and the Comics and the Raimi Films. But also unlike with MCU's Aunt May played by Marisa Tomei who is a fine actress, by the way. Just comes off more as an Older Sister and less of a Prenatal Figure to me personally as Tony Stark as Put it in Homecoming "Strangely Hot Aunt."
But with Aunt May in this film who comes off as kind of a Mother rather than a Grandmother or as an Older Sister. And that was what their relation feels more like a Loving Mother and her Loving Son verses than just a simple Aunt and Nephew. On top of that I feel you could do a lot more Both Story and Character Wise with an Aunt May who looks more like a Mother verses either and or a Grandma or an Older Sister as I have already said. On a side note it feels like the Live Action Aunt May's are getting Younger and Younger.
And as for the Soundtrack I found it to be really solid especially the Song that they used during the End Credits. I also found that the VFX was pretty cool too, on top of all that I have said means nothing if the Story of the Film was Trash but luckily I Really Enjoy the Story. And how it attempts to Expand from Not Only the First Film but also for Future Films that Sadly was Never Be, Due to do how Universally hated this film was. That Still Baffles me due to all that I have said so fare in addition to my next Point. Which is unlike with Most Comic Films where the Hero just comes off as this Do No Wrong Perfect Being or Character, not with the Spiderman in this Film. The Spiderman in this Film Feels Flawed and Really Human with a couple of examples that I have already provided in this Review Buried some where.
To sum it up this Spiderman has PTSD from the First Film and Failed to save a Certain Character, just to name a couple. And I also like the idea that all of the Tech that Spiderman's Villains where fated to get including the Green Goblin's all started out as Military Prototype Weapons and Tech, much alike all of the Batman's Tech in the Dark Knight Trilogy I thought that was kind of cool. And unless I'm forgetting anything else that should do it for the Pros.
The Cons= Now as Awesome and Miss Judged I Feel that this Film was I do still have a few Issues with it. Starting with the Green Goblin I Honestly don't like his Design as he is just Harry with Sharp Teeth and that's about it. But I do like his Psychotic Laugh and Smile and as for his Suit I would like it if it had a little more color to it, instead of just making it Silver and Black. I think it would have been Nice to Have the colors of Dark Metallic Purple and Dark Metallic Green for his suit. To not.
All-Star Superman (2011)
Execution Not So Super Could Have Been Better.......
The Cons= I think the starting off point would be that I Personally found that this Superman Animated flick is unlike any other that I have seen and I've seen plenty and not in a good way. As unlike with every other Superman Animated Features where the story and events there of feels really Cohesive and one. This one doesn't feel that way, because instead of feeling like one Cohesive Story and Film. This one feels more like a Collection of Superman Episodes from a Superman Cartoon Mashed all in to one in this Frankenstein of a Project. Let me try to explain this Film is not really a film at all it's just Basically a Bunch of Segments Surrounding Superman's Last Days on Earth and what would do. And each segment feels like either it could be an episode in their own right or already part of an episode but only trimmed down. In fact I would go far as to say that all of the segments that are in this film could be extended and combined in to some kind of an okay Arc, or Mini Arc in a Superman Cartoon. In fact I would say it would have been Better if it was.
But since it isn't this film feels like it was Filled to the Brim with Fillers or Stuffing in the Middle especially. So much so that it feels that if you took out all of the Fillers the film itself would only be about a little Under an Hour Long. Maybe even Thirty Minutes it feels like? As that was how long it took to get to the Actual Superman Writing His Last Well with his Heat Vision and Accepting the Fact that he could Die any time. Which sort of Bored me to the point that I always end up using that time as Background Noise while I do other things until the Third Act. When a Super Powered Lex Luthor escapes prison to find Superman and fight him one last time to finally show him that he is better with Hopes of Victory in mind. And I really don't like this Parasite as I not only Hate is Designing. As this Parasite's Designing is Basically Giant Purple Blob with an equally as Big Sideways Gabbing Mouth and two small white eyes. But also he doesn't have much in the Intelligence Department, he also talks and sounds like your everyday run of he mill Big Purple Monster. Think a Purple Clayface from Batman's Rouges Gallery but only Not As Smart.
Although it was cool to see but I just feel like they did nothing in the First Segment where they had Superman share his Powers with Lois Lane for One Full Day. As Superman's Birthday Present to her, although cool on both accounts but she basically did nothing with them but just Fly all on her own. They could have had her at least Use her Super Strength and Flip some Random Crook Over her shoulders or use that very same Super Strength of hers to lift up Two Rand Crooks up in the air to prevent them both rom running but Nope she didn't even do that. The only other thing that she did was Fly around some more with Superman and Land on a Roof Top, and after doing so started acting like a Giddy Teenager doing her best Disney's Rapunzel impression "Best Day Ever!" or was that "Best Birthday Ever?" I can't remember before falling a sleep. But at least that was the Catalyst for Lex Luther's Big Ultimate Plan in the Film.
And it's because of all of these meaningless segments the story itself feels a little on the sow side. Now don't get me wrong it's not like I was constantly checking the clock or it started feeling that this movie was forty hours long as to apposed to its hour and sixteen minutes of actual runtime. No that's not what I'm saying no what I'm saying is that I just wished that the story would just move along with out all of the fluff. As I feel that all of the fluff just drags down the main story for me Personally. I feel that Comic Reads might get more out of this story since they have chosen to cut a ton out of the Source Material of the same name. Like every other DC Animated Film to fit the Desired Runtime. Sadly, I'm not a Comic Reader Nor am I that adverse with the All Star Superman story in the Comics. And as for the Runtime sure all of those respective films where trimmed down to fit the desired runtime of their respective source material to which they where adapted from as I have said, but at least with those the story was so cohesive that it was seamless.
And as a result of it feels like one whole story and in turn was able to keep my attention a little longer. Which also in turn I was able to understand what the story was and what Comic Story they where trying to Adapt from, if don't already now by the time that I started watching the said DC Animated Film. Such as Superman Doomsday or Batman The Killing Joke or Injustice or Justice League War or Justice League Crises On Two Earths and I think you get the idea. But back to this film when it comes to the Two Krypton invaders Segment I felt was kind of pointless as they came out of no where and just as quickly they where defeated it seems. They basically posed to challenge to Superman in fact I can't even remember what their goals where. Aside from those two there are a lot of Comic Characters in all of these segments that I don't recognize.
Which could have played a big part in me not only making the film's story feel slow but also why I less likely to pay attention after a certain point of the film. Aside from the usual suspects plus parasite, had they inserted more recognizable characters that actual contributes something to the film that non of that would happen. In particular the middle of it, why couldn't they have Brainiac show up in an attempt to take advantage or Zod or I don't know Batman or Green Arrow or Green Lantern or Wonder Woman show up to tell Superman how sorry they are and wishing they could cure him or something? Because it just seems that when ever a new segment starts I'm constantly asking "Who are you?" on those times that I'm actually paying attention. Which lead me to Lex's Neice who is another one of those endless of unknown and unfamiliar characters for me. She literally contributes nothing to he story in fact she just feels more like a walking talking camcorder and less of an actual character. I don't even remember her having any personality or emotions? And why is Jimmy Olson In a Dress? And unless I'm forgetting anything else that should do it for the Cons.
The Pros= To be Honest in terms of Superman deaths I really like this one better because I feel that the Doomsday one although Good too, but it kind of feels over bloated due to how infamous both the story and the death itself in that story really is. But also I feel that in that one he just got beat up while in this one he is Literally Saving the World One Last Time as in this one he wouldn't be coming back unlike in the Doomsday one where he did came back. And not he came back in the Doomsday one but also he had Four Supermen to take his place until his return. Again I have nothing against the Doomsday Deth Of Superman Storyline. I just think that This All Star Superman one is More Noble and Fulfilling as it more Permanent, and as an extra Bonus there won't be any Superman Replacement, again unlike in the Doomsday one. On that note I really like that Superman's Death in this one was so impactful that it seemed to have affect even his Long Time Former Friend and Constant Nemesis Lex Luther, judging by his Monologue at the end of the Movie.
Although I may Personally like the Middle of the Film but I do Absolutely Love the Intro of the Film. As it is that combined with the Ending is what keeps the watchability of this fil personally for me. As I feel that after the Intro I feel that the Ending was worth not only worth the wait but also worth going through all of the pointless parts in the middle just to get to the Ending. And that is if you don't include the Awesome Animation in this Film as it looked like it could be from the Superman The Animated Series. But as Awesome the Animation was I feel that it's part of why it feels more like a Superman Cartoon Series along with the Segments which I'm sure you're tired of e talking about by now. And I feel that the Super Powered Lex Verses a Superman essentially on his Deathbed in the Climax was Pretty Solid. It was so Solid in fact that I would considered it in the Satisfactory Category.
As I might have alluded to before I Really do Like the Idea of Superman essentially getting Cancer as it makes it much relatable. And at the same time it also Serves as a Unintended PSA for us to be very Mindful of the Sun Obviously. And aside from the Animation I also really like all of the Voice Cast as I feel everyone did a really good job in all of their voice roles to go along with the Animation of this film. And unless I'm forgetting anything else that should do it for the Pros.
Final Thoughts= After all that I have Said it is Obviously I think that although the Idea and Concept was Cool just that the Execution could be Better. As I feel that it leaves you with that 'Much To Be Desired' Feeling and Mind Frame. Overall I'm kind of sad to say that as it this DC Animated Film Feels Really Lackluster. But with a lot of alterations this film could have been one of the DC Animated Films of that Area maybe even of all time.
Addams Family Values (1993)
Good Until The Climax For The Most Part........
The Cons= To start us off I feel that Debbie Jellinsky's the Big Bad of the film Motives and Backstory in terms of why she became a Seral Golddigging Black Widow, makes no sense what so ever. As what I gathered from it the reason why she became a Seral Golddigging Black Widow is because No One Loved her again from what I understand it? I also found the climax was way too Cartoony so much so it feels like the Addams Family Values film had all of suddenly turned in to a Live Action Cartoon. Especially with every Obstacles Working in Pubert Addam's the New Born Baby of the Addams Clane Favor. They even have him Single Handily not only save his family unknowingly but also 'Beat' Debbie the Seral Golddigging Black Widow also unknowingly. I wouldn't say Xena The Warrior Princess Cartoony but almost when it comes to that Climax.
Speaking of I just found the character of Amanda Buckman the so-called Summer Camp Bully for both Wednesday and Pugsley As I found her to be your usual Stereotypical Stuck Up Spoilt Rich Brat, and totally Unlikeable to boot. And to me her 'Just Do' during the Thanksgiving Play Scene some how isn't satisfying to me. As it doesn't feel like it I don't know I guess I was expecting her to be in tears all because she had just been humiliated in some way by Wednesday. Instead of her being shoot with an apple in her mouth with chose around them. Goingback to Debbie for just a second I forgot to mention that I felt that she is one of those One Dimensional character. As she just has a one-track mind to me Marry Rich Men in this case it's Uncle Fester and Get Rid of them so she could Inherit all of their money. I know it's a Kids movie and all but that doesn't mean they couldn't give her character a little more meat. Which sadly is the downside all Family Friendly Movie targeting at kids at all ages.
Just because it's a Family Friendly Movie doesn't mean that all of your characters have to be Completely One Dimensional. Kids may not be Smart but at the same time they're not Complete Idiots either. Anyways aside from that I also found the Debbie Desperately Unlikeable through out the film. Such as she pretty much forced Fester to Choose Between her or his Family The Addam's I also found her completely Unlikable Domineering in one way or another, towards everyone and not just towards her new husband Fester through out the film. And that brings me to my next point I felt that Fester was completely Submissive and, in a way, Brainless ever since he Met and got married to her. Although I admit same of those scenes are funny and amusing but in terms of a character stand point well you know. I think that the only one that suspects anything was Wednesday which was why Debbie felt like she needed to get rid of both her and Pugsley to Summer Camp. And as for everyone else aside from Uncle Fester Brainless and completely Clueless.
Moving on to the scene where all of the Camp Conselers tried to Brainwash Both Wednesday and Pugsley in to being 'Normal' and 'Good' just like the rest of their fellow Summer Camp Goers. Although I get the context of that scene and I do like both the Creepy Smiles that those two had after their Brainwashing Experience. And the Reaction of all of their Fellow Summer Camp Goers but what I don't get is all of that Brainwashing felt Pointless as it never stuck or touched on again for No Rhyme Or Reason after that one scene of the film. And speaking of no Rhyme or Reason I felt the same way about Wednesday's 'Love Interest' as it not only felt pointless but also forced, as I have never felt any Chemistry between them and on top of that I felt like giving Wednesday doesn't serve neither her character nor the story of the film. And speaking of Creepy I also just felt that Every Summer Camp Conselers themselves are Creepy from their Fake Creepy Smiles to h=they way they all act.
But if I had it my way I wouldn't have the Summer Camp story at all as it not only takes away from the Goth Humor and Fell of the Film, but also I think it would have also been much more amusing and much more sense If they had Debbie try to get rid of Wednesday and failing each time by poisoning her or making her fall down the stairs or something. And seeing her go more absolutely insane by the climax in between trying to Kill her New Husband and Mark and getting rid of Wednesday. I also felt that Debbie's Goals and Motives are a Rehash of the Forst Addam family Film, getting to the Addam's Family Fortune through Uncle Fester. But only I felt that the first Film did it Better as the Big Bad Abigail Craven in that film also wanted the Addam's Family fortune.
But the differences are, the first is that she does not come off like a Cartoon Character like Dibbie in this film does. And second Abigail is a believable character and in away some what likeable because of it. But going back to the Debbie character the Big Bad for this film I also found that the acting of the actress was really on the Meh Side. I'm sad to say I didn't really like her acting abilities and unfortunately I haven't seen anything of hers, outside of her Vocal Roles in the Toy Story Movies and Shorts as Jessie. To tell if it was the script or the actress herself was Meh. And unless I'm forgetting anything else that should do it for the Cons for now.
The Pros= To start us off with that Pros aside from all of those Murder attempts on Uncle Fester I kind of found that some of the other Humors in the film does hold up. Like the Addam Family Member's Excluding Wednesday and Pugsley of course. Fear of Pubert the Baby growing up a Normal Child. And I've already told you about Creepy Smiles after the Brainwashing and the reaction of the fellow Summer Campers, those are just two examples that I like. However no matter how funny I found those scene they just seem to pail in comparison to the Humor from the first film. And aside from the Acting of the Actress who played Dibbie who I've already said was on the Meh side, I found that the Acting for the rest of the Cast was Superb after all most of them where played by the same Actress's and Actor's of the First Film.
Despite the Many Flaws that I have with this film I do have some Pros, the first is that I just Loved how this Successfully Continues the story of the First Film and, attempts to expand the Universe of this Addams Family in away. Without Retconning or changing anything from the first film which was a really nice change of pace because not only they could have easily done that hoping that non of us the audience would be the wiser, with this being a Family Film and all. But also it shows them how much they care about not only the Addam Family Universe but also about The First Film as well. Which was why it is still watchable for me despite all of the Cons I have with it.
Final Thoughts= If you Like the First Film I think you'll enjoy this one too, and if you don't than I suggest Skipping out on this one. And find something else that you would enjoy sadly I don't have any recommendations for Obvious Reasons.
A Christmas Carol (1999)
Budget Aside Really Excellent Adaptation...........
The Pros= To start us off rather Sir Patrick Stewart is in it or not this still remains as one of my favorites A Christmas Carol Adaptations ever. Right up there with the 84 George C Scott's and the Jim Carry Versions Respectively. Mainly because it was this Version of A Christmas Carol that sort of got me obsessed with any and all versions of A Christmas Carols. And because of it I have seen literally countless of A Christmas Carol Adaptations. Some Bad but Most Really Good oh sure before I was aware of the story of A Christmas Carol.
And I have seen the Muppets version of A Christmas Carol, but I never really cared about A Christmas Carol it's not like I hated it or anything like that it's just it was just another meaningless Christmas Tradition to me just like Santa Clause and all of the traditions that is tied to him. Or Singing Christmas Carols or Building Snowman and Snow Angels and so and so on. To me back then it was just a Holiday Theme Story much Like How The Grinch Stole Christmas was, but as I grew up and after watching this movie that had all changed when it comes to A Christmas Carol anyways.
Anyways moving on to get the obvious out of he way first I Personally Thought that Sir Patrick Swart did an Excellent Job at Playing Ebenezer Scrooge he was perfect for it. In fact if they wanted to another A Christmas Carol with another Star Trek Actor playing the part of Ebenezer Scrooge, the only person that I could think of was Brent Spiner. As I thought he did a wonderful job at Playing Ebenezer Scrooge in the Prologue of The Star Trek The Next Generation episode Devil's Due. As his Character of Mr. Data just Imagin how he would do to the Ebenezer Scrooge character if it was just him as an Actor and not as another character especially these days? But back to Sir Patrick Stwart I felt that his version was more well I wouldn't say Brody but more Pessimistic take on the Ebenezer Scrooge character. An excellent example of that would be in the scene where that kid dared to attempt to sing in front of the door to his work place. To which Ebenezer Scrooge took his cane and roughly swung the door opened and threaten to hit him with it.
The expression on Scrooge's face made look almost terrifying in fact they even used that image of a close up Scrooge as the cover art for the film. And I especially liked his line of "Life Is Hard" when The Ghost Of Christmas Past showed him when he was still young and still stuck in that school. As I felt that line was really fitting for his version of Scrooge not only it's a Sinical remark but also it shows his version of Scrooge's view on life itself a that point of the story. I just don't know what is it maybe it was because of Sir Patrick Swart's take of Scrooge but I still feel that there is something about this A Christmas Carol feels a little darker then the other A Christmas Carol adaptations that I have seen, but I still Love it.
Moving on to Richerd E Grant's version of Bob Cratchit I thought he also did a great job as Bob Cratchit as he not only looks and feels great in the part so much so it was like the part was made from, but also when ever I'm imaging a version of Bob Cratchit more often than not his image usually comes to mind. In fact I'm currently in the process of attempting to write my own version of A Christmas Caol the image Richard E Grant's version of Bob Cratchit usually comes to mind. And I just loved his version's shocked reaction when his character found out that Mr. Scrooge was going to Raise his Salary. There's something about him getting sacred and grabbing that Fire Poker to Defend himself as he thinks that Mr. Scrooge has finally gone insane crazy.
That is slightly amusing to me so much so I just wished that more versions of Bob Cratchit through out the many versions and adaptations of A Christmas Carol did it. But of course their own version of that scene with their own version of Bob Cratchit having that kind of same reaction to their own version of Mr. Scrooge. In fact I currently have planes of using that kind of very reaction for the Bob Cratchit in my own story of A Christmas Carol.
Now moving on to the Wailing of the Ghosts just out side of Scrooge's window during The Ghost Of Marly's Visit. I Personally found it Really Chilling and Unnerving especially that one ghost's ghostly pleas that he wish's he could help that homeless mother and her kids. By saying "I whish I can help you let me help you......" or something close to that. And I just find that Dominic West a wondaful job at Fred Scrooge Ebenezer Scrooge's Nephew. As his version was so happy and spirited and friendly that he's one of those people that if you pump in the streets, and no matter how sour of a mood that you are in you could always, always count on him to cheer you up. Considering the budget that they had due to this being made as a TV Movie I was Very Impressed that every one felt like they where giving their all.
And as for the Cratchit I feel that it feels realistically poor you could feel that all of the Cratchits were living in Poverty. You could tell that they are not a rich family and really couldn't afford to help make Tiny Tim walk aside from that Crutch. And you could also tell that they afford a very large dinner or even Turkey and all of their clothes reflect that Beautifully. But the best part was the what they lack in money they greatly made up for their family Bond. And I just really love that Caroling Montage after when Scrooge and The Ghost Of Christmas Present was finished visiting the Cratchit house hold. As it shows to not only Scrooge but also us the audience how every one no matter what situation that they happen to be in are still in High Spirits, through song as they where all singing a Christmas Carol. Seemingly at the same time all around the world and some in a deferent language. And I have to say it did manage to give me the Feels. And unless I'm forgetting anything else the at should do it for the Pros.
The Cons= This first one is not a really Con on any level by any means, but it seems no matter how much I watch this film, I always couldn't help but see Sir Patrick Stewart as Captain Picard in the Holodeck aboard the USS Enterprise D. Running A Christmas Carol Simulation and All Three Ghosts including the Ghost of Marley are ghostly alien entities attempting to teach Captain Piacard some kind of lesion. Especially in the graveyard scene when Scrooge pretty much challenged and Pleaded to the Ghost of Christmas Yet To Come that If He Was Past All Hope then Why Show All Him All Of This. I feel that some not all but some of the Effects Both Look and Feels Cheap Especially with The Ghost Of Marley and the Erath Quick at the end of the Climax of the film.
But going back to Scrooge his Hysterical Laughter after when he was visited by all of the ghosts at the end. Felt and sounded kind of uncomfortable and weird to listen to I would have liked for Sir Patrick Stewert to have improved upon that Hysterical Laughter. Then on that same line I felt when that Kid said the word "Walker" by dividing that word in half was also off when Scrooged opened that window and asked him what day it was in that very famous scene. At least I think it was this A Christmas Carol? Again seen a lot and I mean a lot of adaptations of A Christmas Carol. Then I feel that the character of Topper Haines had let's just say Unwholesome thoughts towards one of the female guests of Both Fred's and his Wife's. And I have to say that scene was kind of comfortable to watch.
Now don't get me wrong I do like the Desing of The Ghost Of Yet To Come it's just that I think you would have had more a scar factor if he didn't have any eyes not two orange glowing dots for eyes. Personal opinion The Ghost Of Yet To Come should Never Have eyes, and besides every time that I read the story I always Imagin him without eyes glowing or other wise. And now we get to the Cratchit's Family Tradition of taking their Utensils and banging it on the dinner table repeatedly. There's something kind of childish about that to me personally but this one is only a little nip pick, but still, I just couldn't get my mind off of that.
Now I realized that some of the Cratchit house hold members are children but it still some how feels un fitting form them as the youngest one being Tiny Tim, even then he looked to be about maybe five or six? Personally, that type of tradition probably fitting only for maybe four-year old's and younger. But on the other hand, in a way I understand why that tradition exists as it is a way of not only respect in a way but also to hype themselves and each other up for the upcoming Christmas dinner. Another minor little nip pick although Mrs. Dilber was in it but I personally would also like for her to be in the scene where Scrooge had just woken Up Changed all due to Visits of all of the Ghosts the Night Before. As I would have liked to see how this version of Mrs. Dilber would react when she first walked in to Scrooges room after Scrooge's change, from the Ghosts and thinking that he had finally had Lost His Mind and Gone Insane. And unless I'm forgetting anything else that should do it for the Cons.
Final Thoughts= To me personally this film was fine as is despite my Cons which was why I feel that it was kind of sad that this movie did not get a Bigger Budget as I Feel it deserved it.
Shazam! (2019)
A Mindless Family Friendly Superhero Film For Kids.........
I'm going to get my little nip pick out of the way first and that is that I just feel that it was creepy filming a little girl while she is sleeping. As shown on the screen in one of the scenes and keep in mind that clip or video was filmed a long time ago, and from what I gathered at the time they didn't know that same kid was about to be awoken to the sight of a magic door to which she walked through it. As it is shown that very same kid had grown up to a grown woman in the Marden day of the film. As she was part of a research program that involves the big bad Dr. Savana (more on him later) wanting to find away back in that magical cave so that he could convince if not force the what I'm going to call Old Shazam to give him his powers or something?
Okay now that is done let's get to the meats of the review shall we? To start us off again Why? Why is Billly Batson is more mature the titled hero himself Shazam his alter ego who is supposed to be an adult sized superhero? And that's not all but also I feel that they needed to dumb down all of the adults of the film just to make the kids Billy Batson especially look a lot smarter. Sorry I just don't buy how a couple of cops could be out smarted by a kid, and have that same kid Billy Batson some how being able to lower that gate to trap them in that pawn shop. How'd he get in there in the first place?
And are there any security cameras or alarms in that pawn shop? And not only that would think that the security guard at the school that Billy and his foster siblings mince Mery Bromfeild goes to would be suspicious when Billy just runs out the door and in comes Shazam. Pretending to be Billy's and Freddy's dad as one assuming he hasn't already met Billy's and Freddy's foster dad he would still feel that something is up. Just by the way how Shazam is acting and you add to that he has a Trench Coat in a weak attempt at hiding his Super Suit. To which you kind of make out through the Trench Coat. If I was the security guard I would have had Shazam wait there while he called the principle or some one to make sure that Shazam really is Billy's and Freddy's dad. Plue I would have confirmed it with some one that if it is okay to let both Freddy and Billy leave the school with Shazam.
The third example I'm going to give for now is speaking of being suspicious shouldn't that real estate lady become suspicious when both Billy and Freddy started, telling her that the they are looking for a perfect place for their superhero lair or something? Again if I was her as soon as they where talking about a superhero lair I would have told them to get out knowing that they are not serious and is currently wasting my time. Time that I could be spending on clients who are serious on looking for a house or an apartment in their price range and on these two jokers who clearly aren't serious. Which is on top of how they are acting, yeah sure they walked away disappointed but I would have personally kicked them out way sooner as it looked like they where there for a while when we the audience finally catch up to them about an hour later.
And how is it that we don't have any one kicking Billy and the rest of his foster siblings out and chasing them and threatening call the police. In the scene where they used a door portal to escape from the Big Bad Dr. Savana and wound up in an Adult Club as Kids? Sure we don't see it but still that doesn't change the fact that still left on their own accord with out any adults being the wiser. As if they get kids entering their Adult Club all the time which I hope is not the case.in fact I would have said "Hay Kids get out of hare you're Not Allowed to be In Hare!" or something close to that and Not "Kids? In an Adult Club? Eh whatever" Huh? And those are just some examples of how dumb the adults are in he film and I have more to come.
Moving on to Billy's Tragic Backstory now don't get me wrong I like the context of it as it motivates him as a character for a while. But what I don't like about it is that it lacks Big Time Umph, as I feel it not only lacks Emotions but also details, as all I know of it is that his single mother abandoned him as she didn't thinks that other people would make better parents than her? And so she took the opportunity to abandoned her own son when he got lost during their day out at an amusement park, and that's basically we know. We don't get the why just only the when and that's about it. To me that's only just a particle backstory it would be like saying Clark Kent Grows Up to become Superman with powers, and that's about it. See there's not enough information there for me to get enough of a picture. In fact it really reminds me of Kevin Spacey's Lex Luthor "You're Not Getting The Big Picture Hare!" line from Superman Returns.
And what's worse is that when Billy Batson finally locates her even then, even then we only get a part story as all she said was "I was afraid that I wasn't a good mother so when you got lost I let the police take care of you knowing that you'll be in better hands....." or something close to that. And we even get this mysterious male voice telling her to get back inside or something which might be an indication that she was in an abusive relationship or at least that was what I got out of that scene. But what I do like about that scene is how that after getting that little piece of information and thinking that his own Birth mother didn't want him you could tell how crushed he was. So again in terms of the backstory I don't fully hate it I just wished that it had a little more umph to it.
Then we get to the Big Bad Dr. Savana until I looked up his name I totally forgot what his name was. And on top of that there is literally nothing else memorable about him as for me he his personality was basically very little to ono existent. And as for his goals as I have said earlier is basically just him wanting the Shazam Powers just because in my eyes Personally. The only motivation for him wanting the Shazam Powers was because he was told that he was not Worthy enough and that's basically that's it, that's is like the only reason why he wanted the Shazam Powers. It's comparable to the parents of a little kid telling them that they are not allowed to get that sugary cereal and what dies that kid do? That's right down right have a temper tantrum in middle of that grocery store, and then right afterwords maybe knock an entire row of cereal off the shelf after attempting to toss the said cereal that they are not allowed to have in to the cart.
To me that's what Dr. Savana is comparable to, and so what does he do? He offers himself as a welling host to All Seven Deadly Sins just to spite the Old Shazam. And even then and even then he still wanted the Shazam Powers like that said child not wanting to let go of that surgery cereal. The sad thing is it took him around just past the half way mark to encounter Shazam, but until then he's doing his own thing and Shazam/Billy is doing his own thing totally unaware of Dr. Savana. Sure I get it it's an Origins Story but still that doesn't mean that they couldn't either A have Dr. Savana and Shazam sooner or some tie Dr. Savana in to Shaam's Origins. His character was down right forgettable to me, as to me Dr. Savana is just 'Mean Bad Guy Who Wants Shazam Powers' there is nothing that stands out about him to me.
Why? Why is this film takes place around The Holidays Christmas Time? As neither the story nor the setting calls for it. It's like it was set around Christmas Time just because, and noting more aside from trying to give you that Holiday Feels. It's not like All Seven Deadly Sins gave Dr. Savana until New Years to get the Powers of Shazam or it would be his Soul or that their was some kind of weird Prophecy that the Next Shazam would be chosen at that Time Of Year or whatever. To me it doesn't even feels like a Christmas movie sure they have some Christmas imagery and they even have some snow nothing too visible just some, but to me it still doesn't feel like a Christmas Movie, even if they had two maybe three Christmas song it still doesn't feel like Christmas. And I'm a Big Sucker for any movie or episode that takes place or is about The Holidays. And on that note, what is up with Sanat? It's like every time that you see Santa he is always running and screaming 'Help Me', the first sure I'll by it but the second time it just feels like a joke to the point where he was just there for just some unnecessary Comedic Relief.
And as for the 'Climax' of the film it just feels really Anti Climatic as it just wasn't exciting or epic at all to me. In fact I feel that the Shazam Kids or Siblings or whatever they are called? Verses All Seven Deadly Sins was more exciting then the Solo Shazam/Billy Verses Dr. Savana Mid Aire battle. In fact that fight it feels too much like a DBZ Battle they even created an explosion bubble when they collided. While a random kid is making his Superman and Batman Action Figures Clash at the very moment while playing with them in his home. The way that Shazam Defeated Dr. Savana was Calling out the Final Deadly Sin out and making Fall to the ground. Going back to the other Shazams Verses the other Seven Deadly Sins or rather the Remining Six Deadly Sins I just feel that they where way too effective way too soon. Sure at first they had trouble Focusing their powers and attacks but even then they right way knew how to activate their powers.
So much so it didn't them long as I have said to not effectively utilize their powers but also work as a team, as if they have been doing it for close to a year now or whatever. Sure they are siblings but when we along with Billy first meet them they where all doing their own things, it wasn't like they where all watching a movie together or playing board game together or a video game together. And I don't think that ritual that their foster parents had them do every night before dinner wa.
Caged Fury (1990)
Caged Fury Indeed AKA An X Rated Movie With Action And Violence And A Terminator........
The Cons= To start us off I'm not going to use names as non of them really stick out and I'm just too Lazy to look them up in this case to be Perfectly Honest.
And so with that said let's begin one of if not the Biggest Fault of this film is that it Highly Sexualizes Women, sure what could you expect it's a Women In Prison or WIP Film? But the thing is this is my first WIP and I only bought it because of the Plot to which I thought that it was unique to this film but I guess not, but more on that a little later. Anyways hares an WIP First Timer Review, as I was saying they Sexualize Women Heavily. I would like to give you some examples but let's just say I don't want to. Aside from the fact that even in the Synopses mentions that these women are Lingerie Clad Models. Moving on the next big flaw I feel about this film is Richard Barathy the only name that I bothered to look up just because it was part of some else's review for comparison sakes only I swear. And to see if I could copy any Positives for the answer to that question you're going have to wait until you get there......sorry.
Anyways about Richard Barathy the biggest problem I have with him is that he was Literally Unstoppable and Untouchable Literally. I mean seriously he was taking out the Villains after Villains after Villains like he was teaching a Martial Arts Class. It was like they turned him in to some kind of an Unstoppable Terminator or something not even the Final Guy the Final 'Boss' was even a match for him not even close. I think he wasted the final guy in like only ten minutes or less? But it seemed more like only three minutes to me. Not only that but when he was in the middle of freeing the main female Protag, he was still able to beat every guard up like they where Unarmed Drunks or something. But in reality, I think they where all armed with Guns and Nightsticks?
And that's not the only problem I have with him or rather his character I also felt that not only his character felt Pointless to the film aside from being a Terminator Savor and Rescuer. I also felt that he had no Chemistry or even a love connection what so ever with the main female Protag not even in the end after when Mister Unstoppable Terminator takes out the Final Guy He and the main Protag and the Protags sister rides away in the sunset, I can't remember as it has been years that I've seen it and I've only seen it once. But anyways the only other time that I could remember the two of them ever meeting was when he saved her from being Assaulted Yes in that was from a Gang Of Bikers right out in the open behind a Bar. Talk about Can't Touch This. In fact so much so I'm reminded of those two scenes in The Terminator where the Character of Kyal Reese first screamed to Sarah Conner on how Unstoppable The Terminator is, and on a Separate scene again he screamed to the Police Officers this time about the same thing about how Unstoppable the Terminator is.
Which was no surprising as I have heard that this film was mostly comprised of Adult Film Actors, to which from now I'm going to refer to them as X Rated Movie Stars. For the Fear of IMDB, and me using that word outside of the 'Parents Guide' Section of the Site. Anyways which also could explain why this films feels so much like an X Rated Movie with a little bit of Action and Violence Mixed in. So much so it mind as well be an X Rated Movie, that along with the Warden Woman Dresses More like a Dominatrix complete with a BDSM Cain Included, and less like an Actual Worden that you might see in a Typical Prison Movie. And to even further that she even Pleasures herself willy nilly in middle of the film even though the shoot is shown waist up. And not only that the Synopses even mentions that she is a Lesbian. Which tells us nothing about the story or what the Film was about.
Then next is I just feel that the cops in that universe are either brainless and or lazy as there is no way that a hug operation like that, could go unnoticed by them. Specially after when the main protag and her sister both called them on separate occasions? And all their response was "Honeywell? Never heard of it." Or something along those lines with out investigating it or even looking in to it. Did I mention that this operation was running for so long with out throwing out susception that it seems like it was running for years? Which brings me back to my pervious point about the dumb and or lazy cops. Then next is I just feel that the main protag was so dumb that she I not only couldn't get behind her but I also I had no feelings for her at all. And I just find it so dumb that the main protag's sister who is older by the way just so happens to fall in to the same trap as the main protag and in the same way too, which was how she also ended up in Honeywell. You would think that the both of them would think that some thing was up when they where both instructed to say a cheesy X Rated line on camera? As part of a 'Try Out' or whatever they called it? But Nope laughable guess again.
Then there is the fact that I feel that this film was so Predictable that it feels like it adds to the X Rated Movie feel of the whole film. So much so there is literally no surprise to the film at all and speaking of an X Rated Film. I haven't touched on the acting yet it was so cheesy and cheap that it also helps with the X Rated Movie feel to it all. And not just the acting either but also the dialog and dialog delivery as well. Then finally in mid review I had to quit as I did not have time to do it in one go so I had to divided it in two. And as such I was inspired to give it anther try and well just say that was a failure sadly. And unless I'm missing anything else that should do it for the cons.
The Pros= I have to admit this movie is good if you're in the mood for some Brainless and cheesy film that acts like an X Rated Film but not an X Rated Film Literally. And just because of the Action and Violence and the attempt at of some kind of story I would consider it slightly just slightly above an X Rated Movie but not by much just a tiny bit above. I do also like how some not many but some scenes in the film are kind of intense and terrifying but sadly that's not enough to redeem this X Rated Trash, specially if you put yourself in the shoes so to speak of these poor women prisoners. And lastly I do like the Soundtrack I truly feel that the Soundtrack was the Strongest Element of this X Rated Trash, again not enough. And unless I'm forgetting anything else that should do it for the Pros.
Final Thoughts= It's unfortunate this film did Not leave a Good Impression on me in Parctulare giving other WIP Films a chance. As I like to Diversify my Interests and movie watching but after this I literally have no desire to give anymore WIP films a chance. And with that said obviously I would rather watch a film targeted at Toddlers such as any of the Paw Patrol Movies. In fact I have through Clips and let me tell you I truly really enjoyed it. I certainly enjoyed it more than this X Rated Trash by a factor of like a lot.
Barbie (2023)
A Fun Movie With A Great Message......
The Pros= What I really like about this film is the Message that it's trying to say under all of the Fun. Which is Spoiler Alert by the way is Gender Equality it's just Too Bad that it was Over Shadowed by All of the Fun and Jokes of the Film. And speaking of let's get to the Fun Parts shall we? Which are the other reasons why I like this film, to start us off is that I think why a lot of people Hate This Film or at least seeming to is because they are trying too Hard Analyze The Pink Out Of this Film. Which is Completely the Wrong Approach as this Live Action Barbie is not Trying to be Oppenheimer it's not trying to me The Matrix. It's not even trying to be a Comic Film. At least with those example that I have given you could still Analyze them in one way or another.
Anyways then next is I was presently surprise how funny I found this film because to be honest I didn't think that I would enjoy much less actually find it funny. As I'm not typically in to Comedy so me finding this Film enjoyable and funny says a lot. And as such it allowed me to be taken out of the Real World for about 2 Hours. I think one of the scenes that I enjoy the most is the scene where the character of Sasha made Barbie Cry by bombing her with her Political Views about not just about Stereotypical Barbie (Margot Robbie), but on all Barbies in general. As I feel that Sasha's Political Views on Barbie could be taken in that way because I feel that Barbies is a Cheap Person's Adult Plaything. Yes in that way don't ask me how I know I just do. But going back to the movie briefly another reason I loke that scene is because it not only Subverts Barbie's views and Opinion on all Barbies every where according from what she has been taught.
Just with that Political Bomb I guess we'll call it but also at the same time we the audience get a feel on the character of Sasha and what type of character she is at the start. I feel that another reason that this movie was so fun to watch and how it was successful in taking me out of the Real World for about 2 hours as I have mention is how colourful it is and I'm not just talking about the literal colour. But I'm also talking about in Tone even in the 'serious' parts is still fun and light and what I mean about that is that unlike other Comedy Based movies, the Downer or Serious Parts just brings down the Movie by some what especially in Rom-Coms and Rom-Drams. Not so much with this film with this film it was Happy and Cheerful and Colourful through and through.
As I was watching this movie, I feel that both this and the Aqua song Barbie Girl go hand and hand. As every time that I watch the Barbie Girl music video from Aqua I think of this film and vis versa is true. My only nip pick about that it's just too bad that the makers either Couldn't get the Rights to the Aqua Barbie Girl Song which is what I'm hoping. Or they just didn't think of adding it to this film and or they just simply wasn't aware that the band Aqua made a song titled Barbie Girl which is what I'm hoping s not the case for that last two. Even if they added the song during the End Credits I would have been happy about that. Moving on I just like the Musical Ken Battle between the Two main Kens (Simu Liu and Rayn Gosling) was really fun to watch I specially like how it changes from a regular fight to a musical battle between the two for mention Kens.
In my opinion of you really want to watch a Toys Come To Life on Screen, although the Toy Story Films are Good and Fun in their own right. But I just feel that when it comes to True Toys Come To Life on the Big Screen this feels more like it. And when it comes to the Cover Art be it Blu-Ray or 4K which is better in my Personal Opinion is so Gorgeous and Really Eye Catching and in a way Fun in fact so much so I'm truly Tempted to Upgrade already to the 4K just because of the Cover Art In Fact I almost did. This film was so Colourful and Fun that it is the only Will Farrel movie that I like, I'm sorry I just don't like any of Will Farrell movie. I mean I've tried giving all of them a shoot but in the end I ended up not liking any of them sadly no not even Elf which seems like a must watch for everyone for every Holiday Season going by how every one talks about that film.
Lastly at least for now I just feel the Ending for this Barbie Movie was really Great. My only grip about that is that they have sadly closed the door on any potential sequel that they might want to eventually make. Although I guess they could always magically transform Stereotypical Barbie back in to a Doll Temporary be it for just that one film or the sequel could be about Stereotypical Barbie (Margot Robbie), finding that being human is not what's she thought it was. In the sequel you could even have Barbie struggle with Bills and Taxes and the further Sexualization of Women and Barbie and the like which could over whelm her to the point where she just wants to become a Doll again. I think that would make an excellent and fitting sequel to this film. And Ken renaming Barbie's Dream House to Ken's Mojo Dojo Casa House just racks me up every time that I say it and see it and hear it ectara.
The Cons= As Fun and Colourful as this movie was it's still not perfect, starting with Will Farrell. Why Will Farrell? Why? Why is he even in this film? Will Farrill plays the Mattle CEO but my problem with that is they basically did nothing with him, aside from trying to get Stereotypical Barbie (Margot Robbie) back into her Box for like a Scene, and after that he literally disappeared for the rest of the movie until for one quick scene in the middle of the movie and the tail end of the climax of the movie. And I don't even know what happened in regards of him after that to be honest, so I'll ask again. Why?
And although this is not a big deal only a really dusting of a nip pick it Would Have been Nice to have an Asian Barbie, as there was Barbies of all shapes, sizes and of various nationalities in the movie. Except for Asian it would have been nice oh sure we have an Asian Kin in Simu Liu, but as Barbie have said in the Film Ken was basically built as an Accessory to Barbie. Moving on although I understand to a certain extent, I'm just sure how I feel about Barbie having Psychic Abilities. And I really thought and was hoping that the opening scene was just for the Teaser Trailer as even in the film itself the opening scene feels like a Teaser Trailer. I understand that the whole purpose of that is to introduce the audience to the world of Barbie in the form of a brief History, I just wished they did it a deferent way. As the opening scene is a down right rip off the 2001 A Space Odessey Film.
Then there are all of the Humans in the film, why? I felt that they where Pointless as they Contribute Literally Very Little to nothing to the Film. I feel that if you took them out of the film the film itself would not change. The only thing that would change was the excuse for Stereotypical Barbie (Margot Robbie) to leave her Perfect Colourful Barbie World and come to our Drap Real World. That was basically the point to all of the humans of the film which of course includes Will Farrell. But I do like the backstory of Gloria? Sasha's mom and what was going in her head. But sadly, like the Mattel CEO Story they never fallowed up on it at least I don't feel.
Rumble Roses (2004)
The Wrestling Version Of Dead Or Alive Extreme Beach Volleyball ........
The Cons= First and foremost I feel that this game's Biggest Sin above all else is that it Extremely Sexualizes Women in a really Hug way and I mean that in both the Figurative and Literal way. Mostly in the Breasts area I mean seriously every women in this game has a Size C-Breasts or Higher Breast Size. The animators even animated those things Bouncing in every Single Cut Scene, and in During Every Single Match if memory serves that they get.
Moving on it would be Nice to Get Not Only More Modes but also more Match Styles as the only Game Modes that I could Remember Getting, are your standard Story, Singel Player, Two Player (Not Too Sure about that one) and of course some kind of Bio Mode where the Main Purpose of that is Watching Your Selected Character that you want to 'Read Bio' on Being Sexualized Up Close. As your Chosen Character would Move and Pose in a Extremely Suggestive and Sexual way while you are in that Mode and Hopefully Reading the character's Bio.
All of the women are also always looked as though they are covered in Permeant unwastable Babay Oil, no matter what. I think the characters of Mistress Spencer who as the name suggest is a Dominatrix and Evil whose 'Outfit' and I use that term very loosely is just constates of a Skimpy Red Body Suit with Devil Horns. In addition, the only part of her Hot Air Balloon Sized Breasts that is Covered are her Nipples. I swear her Breasts are at least a 38-K Sized. And Yasha who's Outfit is Basically a Stocken Clade One Piece See-Through Bathing Suit even though she is supposed to be a Ninja. I think the most Constrictive one is Makoto Aihara who just has a Full on Normal Marital Arts Outfit, and I would say that Stasa A's Outfit are all Pretty High Up there as well. Even she can't escape the Sexualization, of course all of these women that I have just mentioned applies to the Bio Menu as well (Duh.)
It was like this game was made for Certain Kind of Men By a Certain Kind of Men I just wished they made some kind of effort to also try to attract the women gamers as well. Some of us women are also in to Wrestling as well you know? If You Smell what The Rock Cooking?
And playing Video Games which makes this a sort of a missed opportunity in My Book. It's like making all of the Female Characters in your Comic Book Not Only Hug Breasted Types but also they are nothing more then just Eye Candy, by not having any of them being Neither Heroes or Villains which is what this Game Feels like. It's funny Konami who was one of the Developers that made this game also made Yu Gi Oh Literally my Favorite Card Game By The Way, the reason they are Smart enough to Tune Down on the Sexuality on all of their Female Yu Gi Oh Card Artworks and not just Artworks but also all of the Female Characters on Every Yu Gi Oh Anime as well Smart Job on those Parts Konami not so much with this game I'm afraid. Why? Konami Why? Again A Missed Opportunity Konami A Missed Opportunity.
That's about all of the Game Modes that I could Remember, and sore Match Modes the only ones that I could Remember having are your Standard Normal Match, Mud Match and maybe Tag (If memory serves) and that's about all for both. Speaking of Mud Matches I just feel the Mud in the Mud matches where always way Too Slick and too smooth looking. It doesn't even close to Mud not even in colour as to me it looked to Light for the Colour of Mud, and Not Rough at all. And that's not the only thing I feel the at the Mud just Comes off the Women Way Too Easly and Way Too Often. It's like all these Women needs to do is just get up just after being knocked down, and any and all mud that was stuck on them would just slide off like some kind of a Silk Beach Towel. You know what this game reminds me of? Well just like my Subject Title this game really reminds of the Wrestling Version of DOA Extreme Beach Volleyball as they both Extremely Sexualize Women under the Disguise of a Sports Game. But the only Deference is it's in a Wrestling Form instead of a Beach Volleyball Form.
Now we get to the gameplay itself oh where to start? I guess I'll start with the In Game Character Desings, although Fine in Desing Wise. But when it comes to the movements there's something about it feels Stiff and almost Barbie Doll Like, but with bendable elbows and knees especially when it comes to the Kicking and Stomping which in a way it makes it not Fun to Play. Then there are the Grunts, Groins and Screams for each women as they all feels the same no matter who you chose, and not only that but also they always recycle from 'Oh's' and 'Ah's' randomly and in random intervals, such as "Oh, oh, ah, oh" or "Ah, ah, ah, oh, oh, ah," with the rare occasion of "Ouch" pending of course. But one thing that always remains the same are the 'Oh's' and Ah's'. With the rare occasion of "Ouch's" as I have just said. Even with 30 Playable Characters to Play around with it just doesn't feel enough as I Personally got Bord rather Easily after Beating Story Mode with all of them. Unless I'm missing anything else that should do it for the Cons.
The Pros= Now you maybe asking if it is this Bad why didn't I give it a 1 Star? Well quit simply Believe it or not this Game does have a few not much just a Few Pros. Starting with the Story Mode was so Out of this World that it not only Feels Like An Anime but I also want some kind of an Anime Based on this Game Despite my Opinions in the Cons especially with the Sexualization of women in this Game. But that's not the only reason another is that all of the Cut Scenes Both Look and Feel like it could be an Anime. Then Next is that I just Loved the Idea of Having the Choice of playing Either The Face (Good) or The Heel (Good) Version of each character, excluding Lady X who just has one Personality. And that's not all I also like how every Character Alternate Names to go along with their Alternate Personalities. Such as Miss Spencer's Alternate Personality is of course Mistress Spencer, and Lady X's Alternate Personality is Lady X Substance, and finally Bloody Shadow's Personality is Judgement and so on and so fourth.
The last reason why I Pro that I could think of is I think that all of their Entrances are so Phenomenal and Flashy and Unique. And we also can't forget about all of the Entrance Songs for each Wrestler they are great, combined together I think they Fit Really well and Perfectly with each Wrestler's Personality and Gimmick. And it's all because of these Pros that I have chosen to Ignore all of the Cons and just play it for what it is, and besides I already Bought the Game so I mind as well play it every once and while. As Platforms like YouTube and Twitch and what have you didn't Exist Back Then or at least I wasn't aware of them, we are so lucky these days having platforms those to make our judgment before buying the game. And unless I'm forgetting anything else that should do it.
Final Thoughts= Now I haven't played Rumble Roses XX for the X Box 360 but from what I could tell from Screen Shoots and Video Clips it's about the same, as this Rumble Roses Game. But with the Addition Half Naked and Slightly Sexualized Men only two from what I saw from the Screen Shoots on Google Images. And Finally this is the Only Game that I know of that Came with Not Only The English Version of the Instruction Book But also the French Version of the Instruction Book.
Mulan (2020)
I Just Don't Understand The Hate..........
The Pros= First and for most Personally this is the Best Live Action Remakes In My Own Personal Opinion, and not just because I'm an Asian myself. In fact, even if I wasn't I would still consider this as one of the Best. As to me Personally this is an Action Film with a Disney Princess Name Attached to it. In fact, this about the closes we could get to a Disney Fantasy Action Film with a character that Disney Actually Owns, that they did not had to acquire from another Studio like with the Marvel Characters or the Star Wars Characters, or now the Fox Studio IP's and Caracter's. Oh, sure we have The Incredibles but as of right now they are not Live Action, but I wouldn't object if they actually did attempt some kind of Live Action The Incredibles film some day just as long as it is good or at least watchable.
Okay getting back to the matter at hand moving on to the stylish action, what most people don't understand is that the Action Needed to be a little Over The Top, as to that is what I feel all of our Fantasy Asian Actions Films are Slightly Over The Top. Those people must not be Asian or at least have Never Seen an Asian Film? As all Asian Fantasy Marital Arts Films are Really Stylish to the point where they feel a little on the Over The Top Side. I especially Loved all of the Action scenes with the Witch Woman I honestly can't remember her name right now. I know that to most the only reason that they hate this film is because it's not a Musical, for me Personally I'm glade they did not decided to go that rout, as making it a Musical would not only make it feel like a Shoot For Shoot Reread and Remake of the Original Animated Film in a way. But also by making it a Musical would take away from the Asian Fantasy Marital Arts Feel of the Film. They even said in an interview that this Mulan is Not a Musical, I guess no one was listening?
And in turn it would be just another Live Action Disney Remake I don't have a problem with that but by doing so would help set this Live Action Mulan from all of the other Live Action Disney Remake, again Nothing Wring with that but I believe they had the opportunity to set the Live Action Mulan Film from all of the Live Action Disney Princess Films and they took it, and I'm Really Glade that they did. In fact I wish they would take more chances like this in all of their Live Action Disney Princess Remakes instead of giving us the same old but with extra or slightly deferent scenes compared to their Original Animated Counterparts. As enjoyable some of them are Personally.
Then the next thing that I loved about this film is their rendition of the 'Reflection' song it was a Nice change up from the Original Animated Movie, Yes the original is more memorable but I Personally also enjoyed this one as well. And who knows some day this Rendition of the 'Reflection' song could be memorable too. And speaking of songs I also Love the New Song that was exclusive to this Film which was the 'Loyal Brave True' Song as it is Not Only so Inspirating and Powerful but also it feels like the signature song of the film and as to apposed to the 'Reflection' song. Just the fact that Jet Li one of my All Time Favorite Actors being in this film also helped a tiny bit of me liking this film. Another reason is the fact that Mushu is not in it. I mean he works for the animated movie as Luad and Annoying as I Personally found him, he just doesn't work in the Live Action Film.
I also loved how much like with the Animated Counterpart this Mulan Film Sends a Really Positive Message to All Females, not that Males couldn't get some semblance of Empowerment from these Two Mulan Films. In some ways it does it Better which is simply that You Could Be Whatever you want to be and do whatever you set your mind to. You don't always have to be whatever some else wants you to be if you don't want to be. And I think that's a really Good and Positive Message for All Girls Ages and Boys too but since that this is Live Action Fantasy Action Film but the message also applies to Both Gender of All Ages. I also thought that the actress that played Mulan did a wonderful Job, and I say the some to the Young Mulan. I really Love the addition of the Witch Character obviously she's not a full on villain nor is she subservient to the Borie Khan Character like what you might expect her to be. She's her own character with her own personality that happens to be working with Borie Khan.
Above all else I just loved all of the Breath-Taking Scenery they are such so Pretty, this film also highlights the Virtus that are so Heavily Emphasized in Chinese Culture feels like something you don't get very often in movies that take place in China. And just Loved how the Story was so Good and Captivating as is sure it may not be accurate to the legend of the Mulan of Real Life nor even the Animated movie, but it was still Captivating as it was a deferent take on the Real World Legend. Then Next is I just really loved Mulan's Outfit even though it's basically her stripped of most of her armor leaving her in just her skirt armor, sward and Red Under Uniform. Overall I feel that it was an Excellent Reimaging of not only the Legend of Mulan but also the Animated movie as I might have already said. And unless I'm forgetting anything else that should do it for the Pros.
The Cons= I think releasing this movie in 2020 the start of COVID on Streaming on Disney+ may have hurt this film. Although understandable I feel that if they waited and released it to theater just last year of 2023 let's just say, it wouldn't be hated as much, for obvious reasons. Then Why? Why give some one who is so empowering as Mulan a Boyfriend or a love interest? Even if General Shang isn't in it they still have to give her a Love Interest in the form of one of her Fellow Comrades. It's like every Disney Princess always have to have a Prince a Love interest, the only ones that don't have a Prince or a Love Interest are Queen Elsa and Moana and that's about it for now at current. Just because she is a Disney Princess or a Female doesn't mean that you have to give her a Love Interest. In fact I feel that it's counter Female Empowerment as it basically says that if you're a Female no matter how empowered you are you well always still need a Male in your life to make your life complete or whatever. In other words if you're a Female and no Matter how Empowered you are you well always be Weak Compared to Males. Which to me is the Wrong Message!!!!! Anyways moving on I'm done I'm done.
Although nice and necessary I just wished that the Training Camp Scenes where cut short as it feels like it takes up a good forty minutes of the Runtime of the film. But in actuality it was probably closer to only a little over twenty or so minutes of the Runtime of the film. Then next is that I just feel that everyone including all of the Critics don't understand this isn't supposed to be a full on Shot for Shot Live Action Version of the Animated Counterpart, even though they do have some Scene are a Shot for Shot but not for the entire film. Nor was it supposed to be a Documentary or a History Lesson of some kind of the Real Life Legend of Mulan. No that's not this film is suppose to be what this film is suppose to be is a Version of the Legen of Mulan from Real Life. As the Legend of Mulan takes place in a Spane of Years and not Meer Months.
I also think aside from being released at the wrong time another Sad thing that Brings this film down is that they are trying to appeal to both, the audiences that want a Shot for Shot Live Action Remake and those Audiences that want something Completely Deferent from the Animated Version. I believe by doing so they sadly shoot themselves in the Foot for Farly obvious reasons. Either that you just can't seem to make anyone Happy these days? Especially when it comes to Disney and every IP they own which is a Whole New Can of Worms. And unless I'm forgetting anything else that should do it.
Final Thoughts= This Film makes me feel Prode to be an Asian every time that I watch it which is why I make a habit of watching tis film during Chinese New Years every years since. Of course it goes with out saying I think this is one of the Best Live Action Disney Film so far.
The Little Mermaid (2023)
Not An Abomination But Still Needs Work.....
The Pros= To start us off I really love the Actress that played Arial as I feel that she is Not Only a Good Singer, but also an Excellent Actress as well. Which is why it's such a shame that every one recognizes her for only her musical abilities, while at the same time saying that she is a terrible actress I of course feel much deferent. The next thing that I like is that it is not exactually a one for one recreation of the Original Animated Film, let me explain Yes most of it is a One for One Recreation but with extra scenes. So, it's the Animated Film in Live Action with some Extra Scenes, but I guess I say the same thing about the other Live Action Disney Films. Hare's another Big Plus with a 2hr and 15min Runtime it is not only the Longest Live Action Disney 'Remake' so far at least to my knowledge. But I also never really notice it whenever I watch it a big reason for it is because it gave us time to see how Arial is adapting to the Surface World and at the same time having Legs.
Unlike with the original animated movie it was really great to have gotten some kind of Backstory for Prince Eric and some what of an unintended reason why he is a Prince. I felt that was what the original film was missing on top of never really seeing his parents. Then I feel One Humongous Plus of this film is that Finally, Finally an Accurate Live Action Ursula The Sea Witch in Desing but on the flip side I feel that there is an Even Bigger Problem with that I'll explain that in the Cons. But as for now Sadly the only other Live Action Ursula The Sea Witch that I know of 'Once Upon A Time' a show that I'm Obsessed with by the way, anyways that Ursla The Sea Witch was nowhere near close to looking like the Ursla The Sea Witch in the animated film, whom she was supposed to be designed after. Even the Character Ragina Mills aka The Evil Queen Pretending to be Ursula The Sea Witch as part of a Trick was more accurate in design then her but as for the real Ursula The Sea Witch well you know?
And don't even get me started on her Backstory and her relation to King Triton but that last part that I could give the show for as it is supposed to be an updated take on her character. As for if I like that Ursula The Sea Witch's design I don't know? I really don't? Anyways back to this and speaking of 'Once Upon A Time' Comparisons I really don't know which Arial I like Better as unlike with Ursula The Sea Witch the Once A Upon A Time's Arial was really Accurate to the original animated movie to which she was supposed to be designed after. Then finally even though some of the musical scenes was not really necessary but I still enjoyed watching those scenes non the less, all but two I'll explain them in my Cons too. That should do it unless forgetting anything else.
The Bad= We are going to start with what I Personally is the Biggest draw back to this film so much so I'm going have to divide it in to multipole parts, yeah it's that big. Starting with it's just too bad that All and I mean All of the Ursula The Sea Witch Scenes are Best Viewed with All and I mean All of the Lights Out. As the more lights that you have the Less that you could see that's how Dark all of her Scenes Are in Contrast. So those of us that prefer to watch this movie with the lights on and or during the Day in an Attempt to Preserve our Eyes Sight we are Out Of Luck when it comes to her scenes. I think the only scenes that you could see was her in the disguise of Vanessa her human form, and even then it was for the Wedding Scene Just Before she Transformed back in to her True form and the Party scene and that's only because there was more then enough daylight to see her.
But Regardless you could barley see her in her final form for the big Climax of the film with or with out lights. I feel all that only thing that you could see was the waves rising and a little bit of Ursula The Sea Witch in her Kraken Mega Sized form using the Triton to stir up the Sea, and that was because the Triton itself was Glowing. But even then you could Barly and I mean just Barly make it out as I have already said, but regardless you can't even make you Arial or Prince Eric. In fact the only time that I could clearly see Ursula The Sea Witch the Best was in Still Images, and even then I can't find on in her Super Sized Kraken form believe me I've tried to no avail.
Then next is that there's just something about the CGI on Ursula The Sea Witch that feels I don't know Cheap and a little bit like a Cut Scene from a Video Game. It's just something Artificial about her specially when it comes to the face area from whatever little that I could make out of Ursula The Sea Witch. In fact I would say that Ursula's The Sea Witch's design is comparable to Cheetah's Final Form from Wonder Woman 84, yeah I went there. Her design is that bad. Next moving on to the 'Unfortunate Souls' number one of my all-time favorite Disney Villain Songs ever, all though I don't have any problems with the song itself it's just that I feel that it needs that umph at the end, oh sure they tried but I felt like it was barley noticeable.
What I'm talking about is that Epic Laud Malady at the end of the number after when Ursula The Sea Witch was successful at magically ripping Arial's Voice out of her throat, before it transition to that Sombre Melody just as she was being helped to the surface and to safety by Sebastian and Flounder just like in the Original Animated Movie. Not Only that but also feel that the lyrics where rushed a little it was like they needed to quickly get through it as if that song was taking up preciouses movie time, but at least I still enjoyed it a little at least there's that, but still not as good as the original one (Duh).
Then moving on to Melissa McCarthy I feel that she is doing it like she always does in all of her movies which includes her own show Mike & Molly. As I just don't buy her performance as Ursula The Sea Witch there is just some thing stale about it I feel like I wasn't getting enough emotion from her half the time. Especially when she's not Screaming her Head Off or Acting Like a Psycho. Which brings me to my next point this Ursula The Sea Witch feels all over the place, most noticeably in the scene where she is Frantically gathering ingredients to make herself human.
To cape off the Ursula The Sea Witch part of my review unlike with her animated counter part Melissa McCarthy's Version just come off as Blood Thirsty or Deranged, she doesn't even come off as Seductive. In fact she just feels tame compare to her animated counterpart in fact every time that she is trying to be Blood Thirsty or Deranged or even Seductive she just comes off as some one who is trying too hard. It's just too bad because it was because of Ursula that my Overall Score for the film it is what it is, instead of a 7 or even an 8 like it probably should be. Not only that Ursula The Sea Witch is one of my all time favorite Disney Villains.
The Rest are kind of forgivable but still pretty bad but not as bad as Ursula, first is that the so-called Scuttle 'Song', I found that it felt less 'song' and more Scuttle Bug being Annoyingly Hyper, even though I don't have anything too big against Scuttle. In fact I think Awkwafina did a wonderful job at Voicing Scuttle, it's just her Scuttle Bug song that I don't like. Speaking of new songs, I don't know is it just me or was Jonah Hauer-King who plays Prince Eric is a Terrible singer? As when it came to his solo song, I just feel that he was deliberately or instructed to sing badly for some reason, as every time that I watch that scene I always wanted to Howel like a Wolf as a sign that person is a terrible singer.
Moving on then the next is King Triton unlike with his animated movie counter part I feel that this King Triton was over protective. To the point of where he's more "I forbid you going to the surface! Don't You Dare Think Of Arguing with me!!!! Just because!!!" type as to oppose to his animated movie counter part where it's more like "Stay away from the Surface understand, look Arial I'm just trying to keep you safe. Please just obey me." And this Triton didn't seem to feel any Regrets when he Destroyed that Stature of Prince Eric. Unlike with his animated movie counterpart you could tell that King Triton almost Regrated it right away.
Which takes me to the End of the Film I feel that this King Triton is so reluctant to let Give Arial Legs and let her go to live on the Surface. That it comes off more as "Oh do I have to fine I'll give Arial Legs and live on the Surface." Verses his animated movie counterpart where it comes more like "What the Heck if Arial wants to Live on the Surface I mind as well Give her Legs and besides it's what she wants, even if it isn't what I want." The perfect Analogy of that is that this King Triton is the kind of Father that wouldn't Think Twice of Locking His Daughter Up just so that she wouldn't move away and go to Collage. While the Animated King Triton he is the type of Father that Yes may not want his Daughter to move away and go to Collage, but he wouldn't stop her either in fact he'll probably wish his Daughter Luck and Stay Safe while at Collage. See the big deference?
Now we get to the Under The Sea song I feel that with Arial enjoying the song feels off as unlike in the animated movie. This Arial doesn't feel like she's all that interested in what Sebastian has to say as she was constantly trying to getaway, case and point at the end of the song number she swam away all by her own accord. Where as in the animated version Flounder whispered something in her ear before swimming away and we could speculate that Flounder was simply whispering "Let's get out of hare." But back to this film for some reason as a viewer I'm just not getting that Caribbean Feeling when I'm listening to this version of Under The Sea even thou they are virtually the exact same song.
Now we get to the Ending of the Film aside fr.
Avatar: The Way of Water (2022)
Not Sure If I Could Give Avatar 3 A Chance After This Film?......
The Bad= To start us off I feel that they took much time explaining that Jake is now family man, which I'm fine with but wow they feel like they took forever just to say that he is a family man and the Leader of the Forest Tribe. Not Only that in like in the first film why no who is he narrating to? At least in the first film he was making a Video Mission Report for the military but in this film he doesn't have that benefit, so I ask again Who is he talking to Narrating to?
Then after that I just couldn't find any character to be like able for me to personally to get behind. They could all get Nuked and I still wouldn't sadly care, I feel a big part of that is not only I found that mid way through it just started to feel like a Pandora High as in Pandora High School. Not Only you have these Navi Bullies trying to be Arrogant Mucho Idiot Jerks to keep it clean for IMDB whom where making, unwanted Sexual Advances Towards Jake Sully's Daughter. Which in turn forces his oldest son to come to her rescue. Which in turn cases them to bully him and making fun of him having a Small Tail, a Small Tail being stand in for something else, assuming you know what that other thing is? That's like something that you would see in a movie that takes place on earth and not a Sci Fi Movie that takes place on an Alien Planet.
And it wasn't isolated to that just one scene either as it happened at least one last time as I wasn't interested and or invested enough Past just past the mid way mark. And speaking of those bullies aren't the only elements of its kind, also on serval moments through out the film I also caught that very same Navi. Jake's daughter acting like a stereotypical Anime High School Girl with a secret High School crush, by Blushing like a Anime Girl from time to time like Human High School Girls do. In a bad. They even have the typical the bullies target forgiving the bullies when the said bullies are about to be punished, especially with the lead bully. It all feels like a bad movie or show that's about high school teenagers going to. That's not all the Navi's even use the word 'Bro' so much that it feels like they are from the 90's where the stereotypical teenaged high school boys talk like Teenaged Mutant Ninja Turtles. You know they things like "Bro that is so wacked out bro." or "Dude that's so dop." Or even "Dude you got so punked bro you so got punked" just for a few examples. And on top of all of that Jake Sully's kids never do what they ae told, their the type that think that they are special just because their father Jake Sully was made the leader of the Forest Tribe.
Speaking of the mid way mark it was so boring I not only shout if off and moved on to the next thing that I still needed to watch. But also I felt that they had some sort of action or find some other way of to push the story along anything I feel it probably would be just enough for me to stick around, maybe until the end of the film. Because although I thought it was fine and dandy that they decided to show the Forest Tribe Adapting to the Water Tribe and their environment, but I just feel like that portion of the film just went on way too long and this was Mid way through the film mind you. It would be like as if having Ripley in the Second Aliens film go on and on and on about her not wanting to go back to LV-426. Or it be like Morpheus taking up a good thirty or forty minutes of the first Matrix Film explaining to both us the Audience and Neo about what the Matrix is or whatever.
I also feel that a lot elements in this movie where retreaded from the first we have humans invading Pandora. With the inhabitants the Navi being forced to defend themselves and their planet. Why couldn't they have tried something deferent such as having the humans and the Navi being forced to team up with each other against a much bigger threat? Or have the military humans fight against the Navi sympathizers and the Navi? Or have the humans going to Pandora to try to help them develop their cutler but Quaritch and a bunch of his Troops that died isn't having it, out of Rage and Revenge? I have a problem with that too, but back to the matter at hand possibilities are literally almost endless. Anyways that is just one example of the retreads that they had, the rest sadly I couldn't remember to be honest.
Moving on nothing in this film makes any sense I've already mentioned the Navi Bullies, but also why? No better question how does Doctor Grace have a daughter? Spoiler Alert when her character died in the first film? Not only that but also can humans in Navi Avatar Bodies get Pregnant from real Navis? So many questions so many questions, too much for me to even have answered. Another example I hope it was just me but Neytiri in this film started acting like a jealous wife, when one of the other Navi's comes on to her husband Jake like she was a Home Wrecker? And that brings me to my next point why? Why was that Water Navi coming on to him when the Navi's from the Forest Tribe Arrive at the Water Tribe? And not only that but also that other Novi is not only Married herself but also is Carrying her husband's child in side her?
Other things just doesn't make sense to me Personally, the next is why? Why is not only Quaritch and a bunch of his soldiers coming back in the form of Navis? But also Spider is his kid? Then there is the fact that Jake is still Narrating why? Why is he Narrating in this film? At least in the first film it makes sense as he is Video Recording his Reports to the military, but in this film he doesn't have that luxury. Then the last example that I'm going to give is, why or how is Grace back but this time as a Vision or something? As she died in the first film as the Pandora World Tree or whatever they call it wasn't able to save her as I recall it? And that leads me to why? And what's the point of having her daughter who was also played Sigourney Weaver, I have a problem with that too. All of a suddenly have a Seizure after getting a Vision of her mother Doctor Grace, I just don't see a point to that maybe I just quit too early? But as is as I have said no point. Just to name a few examples.
I might have already alluded this before but I also Personally found that the film was so soulless which was why I had to quit, all because I did not cared about any of the characters. But aside from that I found myself asking "What the is going on? I don't know I don't care I really don't" which leads me to my next point. I think at least part of the reason why this movie is so soulless is because of lack of story, or at the very least a lack rememberable story. As it is literally a Copy And Paste of the first I have said, but let me expand on that a little. It is basically Human Soldiers invading Pandora but only this time there is no ryhm or reason why, aside from invading. At least in the first film there is a reason and that is to mine this rare metal element that only Pandora has. But in this film they don't seem to be after that Rare Metal Element any more, just good old revenge for the Quaritch character and his soldiers. On top of all of that I also feel that the Story was so Predictable, and not just Predictable but also it got the point where I was just taking wild guesses with me guessing half of them right just to take the boredom out of it.
This was also one of those movies where I was constantly checking the Runtime of the film and rolling my eyes back, when I find out that I'm only about half way through. It is as if in every single Terminator Film after the first Arnold Schwarzenegger's T-800 Terminator always comings back as the Villian Terminator and go after Sarah Connor. With Kyle Reese always having been sent back in time to Protect her. Or even what if they made a True Lies 2 and True Lies 2 is basically the same as the first but only with that daughter instead of the mother. Where she longs to be a spy and some where some time some how she encounters this con artist who clams to be a real spy. But in reality he just wants to get in to her pants, and then some thing else happens that allows her to become a real spy, perhaps through the means of a National Terrorist Plot to Blow Up the world? And I could on like this but don't worry I won't.
As I have said I did not finish it but from what I have read both the Big Climatic Battle and the Ending was, dull and pointless as literally nothing happens. After 13 years since the first film I was really hoping that there was at least something mind blowing about this film. Because it wasn't the visuals as the visuals was exactually like the first film, slightly worse in fact as this time around the visuals just doesn't feel all that impressive to me. Where as I felt the visuals for the first one was really cool and amazing as I feel that it was the perfect film to show off your New HD 3D or whatever TV, not so much with this one.
What happened to James Camron, now don't get me wrong I like James Camron as he is my favorite director or at least one of them? So much so four of his films are pretty high on my favorite's movies list. It's just his recent projects hasn't been his best to say the least, first there is his Terminator Dark Fate which was the Only Terminator Film that I did not like so much that I couldn't even get past the first act, and now this steaming pile of garbage. I really feel like there is no reason to go back to it as even saying something nice about the cover art feels like a hug stretch. As I feel that the cover art was not all that impressive but I do admit though I do like the water and sky scenery on it. And did I mentioned that this film was also so Confusing at times? Yeah it is. And that pretty much do it for the Negatives for now unless I'm forgetting something else.
The Good= Speaking of the only True Positives that I could give this film is that one I do appreciate their efforts of not only trying but obviously failed to some how progress the.
The Flash (2014)
The Last Official CW Arrowvers Show Standing How Does It End?................
Warning Heavy Spoilers Ahead.
Team Positive Speed Force= With my personal feelings for each actor aside, I still feel that Grant Gustin is still the better version. And hare's what I think why, the first is that the origin of Ezra's version of the Flash felt really weird as it feels flipped. Because I thought that Barry Became a CSI first and then a the Superhero named Flash, and not the other way around. As it was because of the Chemicals of the CSI Lab along with the Speed Force Lightning that made him the Flash. Then next is that for the Theatrical version of the Justice League this one line had always plagued me and that line is "I don't know how to save people I always just push them out of the way" What? Oh sure Ezra's version was just starting out as a superhero, so was Grant Gusten's version, and yet in the beginning of the second episode shows him saving people left and right in the montage style, oh sure he had his Team Flash back at Star Labs to help him. But still by comparison which was only like a week in Universe Time as well, and you compare that to Ezra's Version which has been The Flash longer then a Week by the events of either Justice League film. But anyways Grant Gusten's Flash was still brave enough and smart enough to go in to that Fire despite rest of Team Flash Advising against it. Then there is the Snyder Version of the Justice League the movie, much like with that line in the Theatrical Cut what really plagues me about that film about the Flash. Wouldn't it be better to use your Speed to Open save Iris and use that very same Speed to close it and all the while pretending that nothing had happened? Instead of Literally Punching and Breaking the Glass with just your finger? Maybe it's just me but I think the first choice is not only more convenient but also a lot easier to explain away.
And now we get to the comparison of the two Flash Suits, quite simply I like Grant Gusten's a lot better it's much easier on the eyes, which includes his Season One Suit. And in my Personal Opinion Grant Gusten's Flash Suits has gotten better and better as the series went on. And as for Ezra's that Homemade Armoured look and feel of the suit isn't working for me as it just looks and feels way too unfamiliar aside from the Flash Chest Emblem. And those are the reasons how and why I'm always Fan Casting Grant Gusten's Version to be The Flash of my own Version of the Justice League Team.
Anyways getting back on track I really Love the First Four Seasons of The Flash, as I feel those are the best Seasons of the show. Oh sure not everyone is happy with Savitar but I for one am alright with Savitar. I felt his threat level was great his introduction was excellent in my Opinion. Oh sure I'm not one hundred percent happy with the resolution of his Goals in a way but I still enjoyed his character. Moving on and I just don't get it I could remember how everyone was saying that they were tired of Speedsters Villains, and yet come Season Four where the Big Bad is not a Speedster Villain everyone complained about that too, I don't know I just feel that there is no satisfying people some times. Anyways as for me Season Four is my personal favourite Season because of it. Along with the Mini Crossover Musical Episode titled 'Duet' with Supergirl, I'm also a bit of a sucker for Musicals which includes Musical Episodes as well.
Going back to Season Three for a bit I really love Tom Cavanagh's Wells H. R. Wells for the season. So much so I really got Attached to H. R. I really enjoyed seeing the evolution of H. R. through out the season. It goes with out saying H. R. is my all time favourite Wells. And out of all of the Big Bad's that they had through out the series The Thinker Clifford DeVoe is my all time favourite CW Flash Big Bad as I have hinted at earlier. I like how naturally Grant Gusten's Flash looks and feels whenever he is interacting with either Kara aka Supergirl or his Bestie Oliver Queen Aka Green Arrow, you could really see and feel the Chemistry coming off either one of them whenever Barry The Flash is interacting with either of them. You could really tell they also have great chemistry off set as well and not just on.
I'm really surprised on how well the show recovered after the dismal Seasons of Five and Six, more on those a little later, with Season Seven. I really felt that Season Seven was a pretty solid season, and that continued in Season Eight. And whenever there was humour in the show I was really surprised that most of them did hit, about ninety percent of it in fact and It's really hard to make me laugh. Moving on next I feel that Khione is such a Misjudged character as I quit enjoyed watching her, whenever she was on screen.
However I do agree with everyone when about her character being introduced a little late in the series. As she was introduced in the final season which never gave her any chances of not only developing her character but also getting the Fans to even Warm Up to her. Although despite how I feel about the Series Finally as a whole a little more in that a little later I really did think the final scene of the series was kind of cool.
And now about the Series Finally itself. First is that I do like the idea of Team Evil Speedsters Verses Team Flash was a really cool idea in theory. It's just unfortunately it was Excited poorly as I felt that it was too quick and wasn't as epic as I was hoping that it would be. And they it ended leaves a lot to be desired. Going back to the final scene for a second, I do appreciate the mentions and very brief cameos of three other Speedsters from the Comics for the first time in Live Action. But at least The Flash's Series Finally was way better than Supergirl's Series Finally, as I found that the Supergirl's Series finally was on the Disappointed Side. Anyways back to The Flash Series Finally, I found at certain points of the Series Finally really truly gave me the Feels.
And I'm so glade that they didn't include their version of Red Death in the Team Evil Speedsters Versus Team Flash fight, by some how restoring her powers. As she is the reason why I decided to Skip Out on most of the Final Season of The Flash, don't worry I'll Whine about her a little later. It wasn't until the Oliver Queen episode that the final season was watchable again for me. Leave it to Oliver Queen to save the Final Season. Unfortunately by that time there was only Five episodes remaining. But as for now I loved how in the final season they not only brought everything full circle, but in away they did finally paid off that 'The Flash Goes Missing' News Headline that we the audience had been aware of since the Pilot episode.
Team Negative Speed Force= And now for my Personal Cons. The first is What where thinking with Seasons 5 and 6? Wow you talk about Dumpster Fires, there was nothing good about those two seasons. And hares why I Personally Really didn't like the Sherloque Wells character, as I found him Annoying and insufferable to watch. And with him being played by the very same actor who plays The Reverse Flash whom is also in the season by the way. The way how the both of them talk is so similar to each other that if you closed your eyes, and listen to the both of them talk you wouldn't know which character is Tom Cavanagh is playing in that scene aside from what they are saying.
Then there is the 'Big Bad' for the first half of the season and the twist that they used for him, or should I say her? Cicada I just didn't like it as I found it pointless and a little on the idiotic side. And I can't really remember what they did for the second half of the season aside from being treat as a 'Get to know' that version of Nora kind of story. Then we move on to the Season Six, although I do like the Dr Ramsey Rosso aka Bloodworth and the Female Mirror Master whom are the Two Big Bads of the Season, I just don't like the Black Hole Organization and everything tied to them as they where literally Side Villains as far as I can remember. In Particular the Esperanza Character a little more on her a little latter. But I well give them this tho considering that Season Six was mostly filmed during the Early Scary Days of the 2020 COVID Pandemic which was why the last four episodes of that season had to be cut, they did the best they could with that season.
Okay and now on to Red Death herself now I don't mind them changing him in to a her for the series. But what I do have a problem with is that her origin story is really confusing as, I understand it is that she is from another Earth while her Earth-1 Counter part was missing, then again I've skipped out on most of her episodes that she's in. Then next is that I feel that she over uses the "I am Vengeance" line from that one episode of The Kevin Conroy Batman Animated Series. I swear she says it all of the socially in way of self introduction. But I do kind of like the Suit Design, then as for the Actress that played her. I didn't think that her acting was all that good personally. And speaking of let's move on to the character of Esperanza, first off the reason for being the way that she was makes no sense what so ever. I mean why would you take someone's voice away just to give her an electric one? And I not only personally found her really annoying and not that good of an actress, but also it really bugs me to no end with her constantly switching between Spanish and English in the same scene. Even thou both she and her cousin Allegra to whom she interacted most with both know how to speak perfect English. Then there is the fact that mask makes her both look and feel like a Live Action Anime Character and or a Mortal Kombat Character. And on top of all of that I just didn't think that the story? Was all that great.
And now we move on to the Romance or rather Forced Romance between Allegra and Chester. I feel that it felt Forced, Rushed and Fake, considering it was done in the final. I don't get it because th.
Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always (2023)
A Must Watch For All Old School Power Rangers Fans......
The Pros= Oh and before we start just a little bit of a Warning, I'm not being paid by anyone, this Review is my own personal opinions.
Anyways with that out of the way. To start feel that the First thing that must be addressed is that to me this feels like the perfect, comb to appease both the Kid and the Adult sides of you. And hare's why in my opinion. To start Oh Man right from the opening scene they already have you sucked in, as if all of those Ad's and Promotion on YouTube haven't already done that. Oh wow as soon as that Theme Hit in the opening fight scene I was almost through the Roof but in a Good Way of Course as that is when the Kid me Bursted out with excitement. In Fact I kind of wanted to do a Power Rangers Back Flip myself as that was charged I was just by hearing that Theme. They way how the other Rangers Teleported in to assist was kind of cool too.
Then there is the The Death Scene and the aftermath of it I felt was really effective. Which leads me to the Performance of Minh played by the wonderful actress Charlie Kersh. The Truth due to part of reasons for quitting both Days Of Our Lives and The Young And The Restless for now at least. I was so afraid that her Angry Revenge Acting is going to be an utter Disaster. But to my Surprise it wasn't in fact I found that Charlie Kersh's Angry Revenge Acting to really Top Notch, to the point where I could feel where she was coming from and as a result understand that's what makes keep on going for that Past Year and why she's so focused in her training with Zack. And Obviously I really liked the Story Arc that gave to Minh.
And to appease the Kid Me I found that Every Action Sequence was really awesome non of it felt off or wasted at all. Never once did the Adult Me started questioning why this character did this instead of that or whatever.
Then there is the Design and the Origins of Robo Rita and how it was tied to Billy was really Great loved it. It was also nice to see the Season 1 Megazord again, it really felt less Clumsier than it was on the Show. And the Best Part about this Megazord is that when it summoned the Power Sward unlike the show where that Megazord always grabs the Sward the Wrong way the first time around after when it was stabbed in to the ground. This Megazord Grabbed the Power Sward the right way the First Time Around, after when the Power Sward was Summoned and Stabbed into the ground.
And the way how they had certain Rangers Back with In Universe but not the actors for one reason or another, was Pure Genius. And now we get to the Tributes it was Emotional and Beautifully Done. And oh wow that little Surprise at the end was Incredible. And another Best Part about this Power Rangers Special is that it not only seemingly sets up some kind of Sequel down the road, but also it left me wanting more. I don't think at this point it be wrong for me to quote Oliver Twist "Please Sir I Want Some More" because as I have said that is totally true. Another way I loved how they used the characters even if they couldn't get the actors back was all of the Clips that they used, mainly for me memories or visions for a Ranger or two. I must also Warn you if it isn't clear by now this Special was Jammed Pack with MMPR Nostalgia. Now you could take that as a Good thing or not, I of course choose to take that as a Good thing. And Unless I'm forgetting anything else that should do it for the Pros.
The Cons= As Good and Awesome this Power Rangers Special was I do still have a few issues with it. Starting with and don't get wrong I'm glad to see them. But on the other hand both Adam's and Aisha's appearance felt really pointless. As they were only on screen for only a total of Eight or so minutes tops and as I have said they literally didn't do anything. Aside that they have a way to Fix or Reverse what Robo Rita did off screen in the Post Climatic Battle, to which they weren't invited to. And know I said I like Robo Rita's Design and that remains true, except for this one thing and that was that her mouth didn't move whenever she talks. Something about that felt really cheap to me like Actress who betrays this Robo Rita was Wearing a Halloween Mask instead of Make-Up.
And speaking Robo Rita I understand the real world reason but I kind of wished they explained it with in Universe. On why Robo Rita could only bring back and Robofy only two of her monsters, and non of them was Goldair. Although it was nice to see the Season Megazord back as I have said, I don't know how to say this so I'm just going to say it. One why and how are the Season One Zords back as they were transformed and upgraded and then finally destroyed in Season 3. I guess Billy
Could have reconstituted the Zords or rebuilt them but even then I'm not really too sure of? I mean if I was Billy I Probably would have tried to Reconstruct and or resurrect either the Ninja Zords and or the Shogun Zords as, they are not only much more Powerful but also those where the last two Zords that he Help Piloted, with in Universe. I don't know I guess that's the Adult Me thinking a little too much in to things?
The Second thing why do the Zords look More Like Toys more than they ever did in the show? I mean seriously they all look and feel like toys to me. Then this next one is a bit of a Nip Pick but still it would've been nice to Hear the Robotic Voice the Season One Megazord when it is about to transform in to its Battle Mode. I also felt that final climatic battle was little on the underwhelming side. Yes the kid in me enjoyed it all the same but the adult side of me craved something a little more epic.
And while where on the subject there's something about the Power Crystal Controls that just feels off to me. As on the show I never really see them use those Power Crystals as Arcade Machine Joy Sticks or whatever. And I know most well take this as a Make Or Break decision for them. I would be too under Normal Circumstances but for some reason it never really bothered me as much in this Special. And that is along with all of the Fun Action and Characters, the Power Rangers Cheese has also made a return, don't worry it's not as bad as it was on the show but it's still there. And unless I'm Forgetting anything else that should do it for the Cons.
Final Thoughts= All and all I had a Good Time Cheese and all. I guess the reason being is that this Special is so full of Nostalgia that if you stacked them on top of each other, it would literally reach Rita's Moon Palace on where else the Moon.
Mortal Kombat: The Journey Begins (1995)
Please Give It Chance Before You Hate On This......
The Pros= I Personally Loved the Opening Scene and the Opening Narration to this Short Film. The Next thing that I Loved about his is that all of the 2D Animation still holds up in my opinion. And speaking of I also feel that the 3D Animation was not that bad considering, little more on that later. And I thought that it was kind of cool having Rayden being a guide of sorts to not only the three heroes but to us the Audience as well, to a certain extent was a really great and clever way of explaining not only the Mortal Kombat Tournament and why it's very important that our here's Win. But also the Backstory of certain characters as well for those that are New to the Franchise like I once was. Then there the little themes in there I feel they really fit not only to the movie but also to the Universe of the Mortal Kombat Franchise as a whole.
The voice works I thought was really well done, as I feel that everyone of those Voice Actors really embodied their character's role. And I also loved how you could really feel the chemistry between the characters even in the beginning of the movie even though they are just Cartoon Characters. And now we come to the ending I just absolutely loved how just before when the End Credits Rolled, the same Voice Over Narrator gave Mini Bios for every character that was in was in the film that we just watched. And not only that just after the Mini Bios for each character the Move Set for that character appeared on screen for a few seconds, and while the Mini Bios was presented on screen the Hight, Weight, Age, Etc for that character also appeared on screen. Hare's what I mean for example for the Liu Kang Bio, the Narrator would Announce his Origins and what's he capable of in an Epic way, all the while Liu Kang's Hight Weight Age would appear on screen. And after when the Narrator finishes his Epic Mini Bio on Liu Kang, Liu Kang's Video Game Move List or rather a bare bones of would appear on screen in placement of the previous that was on screen for Liu Kang. And speaking of End Credits I also loved how they basically gave you a Free Cheat Code for the then New Mortal Kombat 3 Video Game. Don't ask me what the Cheat Code was because I was never quick enough to successfully input it in, in time especially when I was a Kid.
And on a bit of a personal point there's something about this film that always makes feel like, it could be a Launching point for a Friday Night Cartoon or something. And unless I'm Forgetting anything that should do it for the Pros for now.
The Cons= I guess I mind as well start with the 3D Animation that I mentioned in the Pros. I think a lot of people hate this film so much is, that they fail to recognize that the makers of this film didn't exactly have the same budget. Of Mainframe Entertainment famed for doing Reboot, Beast Wars Transformers, and Shadow Raiders just to name a few. To which all three shows that I have mentioned came out in the same year that this movie came out. But I must admit as much as I loved the animation itself, it's just that the movements in the animation is a little Cheap and Choppy. And sadly that very same Cheap and Choppy movement animation carried on to the 2D Fighting Scenes as well. But I think that's why I enjoyed the animation so much as I understand that this movie didn't have Mainframe Entertainment level of money for their 3D animation scenes.
Moving on this film is supposed to take place before the Live Action Mortal Kombat Film. Not only it was advertised as so but they literally mention it in this movie. But sadly that's where I feel the disconnect as Yes the Events are the same, but the way how this even unfolds is deferent. For example in the Live Action Film Sub-Zero Froze Sonya Blade's Gun but in this Sub-Zero Froze Sonya Blade's Arm. And In the Live Action Film Shang Tsung Declared the Start of the Mortal Kombat Tournament on his boat, but in this Shang Tsung Declared the Start of the Mortal Kombat Tournament on his Island instead just to name a couple of examples. But still an enjoyable movie non the less. And unless I'm Forgetting anything else that should do it for the Cons for now.
Final Thoughts= Going back to what I was saying before. If you really want to give this a chance before you start hating on it. Hare's where I know you could watch it. The first obviously is in the Special Feature Section for the Blu-Ray Release of the 1995 Mortal Kombat Movie. The Second is from my research is on HBO MAX soon to be just simply MAX. And Third and Final place is on good old YouTube but for Warned with YouTube you would only be able to watch Clips as it doesn't look like you are able to watch the Full Version of this Movie, even if you typed in 'Full Movie' you would only get Clips back for the Results, and sadly that's about only places that I know of that you could watch this film. But if know of other places than all the power to you. And finally I highly recommend watching this for any Mortal Kombat Fans of any Level, or at least give it a try. Just as long as you could ignore all of the Negative Points of, and besides if you think about it all that is Bad about this movie are really minor just as long as you understand that this was Pretty Good for the Budget that they had at the time. And if you do I truly hope you enjoy. As they alway say in the games "Choose Your Destiny"
Alien: Covenant (2017)
It Had Potential......
The Cons= The First Issue that I have is that the main cast just comes off as nothing but Rednecks often at times to me. Based on how they talk and communicate with each other, instead of acting like proper scientists? I think that's what they were supposed to be? And speaking of I also feel that their use of Swear or Curse words just comes off as unnatural often at times. As one character may say something and another might respond with "Censor oh you know Censor I'm always a Censor" or something along those lines. I don't feel even an R Rated film should miss use Swear Words like this had. I'd say if the (Insert Swear Word Hare) doesn't feel natural in the current dialog then don't put in that Dialog, and this movie was Rated 18A. And speaking of characters I absolutely feel no chemistry between them. And with out chemistry why should I care about these characters? So much so I didn't care who's who or how they meet or anything like that. I didn't even care who was supposed to be in charge, or where they were going before they got diverted. I know they've mentioned the Planet and the Reason Why I just didn't care enough to pay Attention or care enough.
Moving on then next is I swear in this one part the CGI on that one Cheastbuster look obviously fake. And that brings me to my next point after watching this film or at least try to a little more on that later. I like many others would rather Prefer the Alien Xenomorphs be a Mystery in terms of are they natural animals from an alien planet or not? I of course would rather they be natural animals rather than the ladder. And I just found this movie so boring that every time that I tried to give it another chance and try to watch it all the way through. I just can't I help but fall asleep every time that I do, not with out choice by the way. And the first time around that I tried watching this film a I fell asleep for a sizeable chunk of it at least I sort of made it to the end unlike the other times that I tried watching it. And that's not the worst part, the worst is that every time I tried watching was in the Middle Of The Afternoon every time. I even tried staying awake by employing the strategy of keeping my hands busy and not even that worked. I feel that the early 'Get To Know The Characters And Their Closeness To Each Other' Meal Scene was done much Better in the Original Alien Film with SW. And now we move on to that one and only time that I've actually watched the ending, quite simply I found the Twist of it incredibly predictable even if you didn't cheat and looked at the cast list. You could still ease predict the Twist Ending like an expert Fortune Teller. And unless I'm Forgetting anything else that should do it for the Cons for now.
The Pros= As much Hate I have for this film believe it or not I do still dine Good to say about it too. Such as wow I Absolutely Love everything in the film all the way up to the part where that one Cryo Pod caught on fire in the beginning of the film. Then sadly it gradually started falling apart from there. And with out giving anything away I do like what the remaining Cryo Pods in particular the ones that are Hanging is supposed to unintentionally represent, I felt that was really clever of the film makers I'll give them credit where credit is due. And despite me not like the Twist Ending itself, I do in fact like how might be sitting up another direct Sequel to this Alien Film. And all the while finally this movie has got me just interested enough to want more to want to see what happens next. Just before the End Credits started Rolling. And that gotta do it for the Pros unless I'm missing anything else.
Final Thoughts= I really wished this Alien Film was Better as it is currently the only alien film that I couldn't sit through with out falling asleep by accident. And that didn't even happened when I watch AVPR or Alien Verses Predator Requiem to which I considered the Absolute Worst Alien and or Predator Film that I have watched. And I liked both the First AVP and Alien 3 films respectively, to which are both infamous for being terrible films almost wildly hated. But not for me I actually enjoy watching both of those films, in fact in the case of Alien 3 it's become a bit of a personal Annual Halloween Tradition if mines. But back to Alien Covenant I think this could have been a really enjoyable film and all they needed to do is just tweak a few things hare and there. And that's it that's all they would have needed to do to make this film enjoyable or at the very least a little more watchable.
Stripperella (2003)
Does This Show Still Hold Up 20 Plus Years Later??,,,,,,
The Pros= First And foremost I Loved Both Versions of the Theme Song, but if you asked me which one's the Best that would be an easy First as the Second One just as same as the first one but with out the Words. But as I have said Both Versions are Good. Then Next is the Colourful and Vibrancy and Brightness and all of that to match the Tone of the show, I even find the Second Half of the show where the Design of show is deferent in certain area's was still able to remain Bright and Vibrant and Colourful and all of that, again to match the show. It really reminds me of another X Rated Superhero Show in Playboy's Dark Justice The Animated Series. Except that one is Dark Superhero Show with Cheap PlayStation 1 maybe PlayStation 2 Style of 3D Graphics, with it also lasting for only One Season. Anyways back to This Show another thing that I like about this show is that The Titled character is a Animal Activist much like the voice actress who played her Pamula Anderson if I'm not mistaken, which I thought was a really Cool Touch. I know this sort of sounds Negative, but for me One Season is just the right Season for this show, as I feel had this lasted beyond the 13 Episodes it could easily over stay its welcomed. And Unless I'm Forgetting anything else that should do it of all of The Pros for now.
The Cons= The First and Foremost I feel that this show requires you To Turn Your Brain Off, as they Never take themselves Seriously. As whenever The Titled Heroine needed to go Undercover she always makes up all of these Unimaginative and Obvious Fake Names, she as they always say is Superhero Slash Secret Agent. Which always sounds Redundant to me It's like saying that you're going to Upload Slash Post Your Story Online. And Not only that but all of the Villains that she Fights are all Incredibly Dumb and an Obvious Parody Well Known Comic Super Villains such as The Riddler and Clayface and Scarface and they even Parodied Lex Luthor. Only not as Complex by any stretch of imagination in any way. And what I mean by that is that I can't really take these Villain's Apart and Analyze Each of their personalities and there Goals, like the Villain's that they are Parodying. As each of their Goals are so simple that it is Basically Child's Play. And it's not just each of their Goals either as it was never explained on what Motivates Most of the Villain's. And I say the same for most of their Villain Origins, now I'm not sure that they where saving those for Season Two that Obviously did not come to fruition, or where plaining on having a whole new set of Super Villain's for each season? But I guess we'll never know for sure right now. And not only that but I also feel that every single one of her Villain's aren't particularly all that smart, not even the Lex Luthor Parody one.
And sadly I feel that the fight that she has with every one of her Vallin's aren't that particularly exciting, as it's always the Villain tries to Punch the Titled Character the Titled Character Doges and Counters with a Punch or a Kick or a Knee of her own and the Fight Ends with that Episode's Villain now Knocked Out and in Jail. With the Whole Fight Feeling like a 60's Adam West Batman style of Fight but with out the Sound Effect Bubbles. And the Henchmen is just as Dumb too. I Guess that's supposed to help with the Humor of it? And that Brings me back to what I was saying about this show never taking themselves seriously, I feel that every Humor that they have are all Sexual Based which includes all of their Puns. There's even this one episode where one of the characters actually Broke The Fourth Wall Deadpool Style. Which didn't really work for me and I've seen Both Deadpool Movies. With the First Deadpool film being one of Favorites of all time.
As it was done deliberately, let me explain in this particular episode one of the characters that wasn't really liked very much by her fellow employees. Accidentally finds out the secret identity of the Titled Character, and for the remainder of the episode she kept on having all of these accidents to make her forget that little piece of information. And at one point of the episode all of these Bowling Balls keeps on falling on her and Hitting her on the head. I mean what would a Gentlemen's Club need with a Box of Bowling Balls For let alone Dumb Enough to Store it on Top of a Set of Lockers in the Ladies Changing Area? I know Why So Serious Right? Don't get me wrong I do have a sense of humor Contrary to the Evidence, I'm just in to the Good and Fun kind of Sense of Humor. Such as some one saying something Sarcastic, Funny. But some one saying something that Deliberately comes off as Sexual, Not Funny. And I also feel it's not just what they say either some of the Shoots where also done in an Overly and Deliberately Sexual way and I'm not just talking about the scenes that took place in the Gentlemen's Club either. And not just that but also most of the Villain's in this show actually have Sexually Suggestive Names to top off the Humor of this show.
Going back up a little bit I feel not only the Villain's are Dumb but also every one else in that Universe. Which Sadly includes the Titled Character as I have already mentioned before. Then Next is that this was Stan Lee's Worst Project ever. Which was really hard to say as I Loved Most of Stan Lee's creations especially with the birth of the MCU. But on the flip side it was still nice to have him Cameo in one of the episodes of the series, as a Random Scientist that is Behind The Times due to him spending so much time in the lab. And speaking of Scientists I feel that the Two main ones Hal and Bernard, which I found not only on the little immature side. But also Incredibly Perverted whenever the Titled character enters they scene they mind as well Literally start Drooling. As they always turn into the Stereotypical Drooling Nerds whenever they see a Hot Female Walk by them, but in this case when ever The Titled Character enters the Scene such as the Lab where they both work. They even Look and feel like your Stereotypical Nerds, in fact some of the inventions that they created for the titled character for her to use on the field, are so perverted that it feels straight out of a literal Wet Dream of a couple of perverted Nerds. The only thing that these two are missing are a couple of Inhalers to complete their Stereotypical Nerd Persona. These two even Created a Literal Certain kind of Robot in the Image of the Titled Hero, to which she takes it as the Perfect Decoy whenever the situation arises when she needs one, which so happens to be that very same episode (Surprise, Surprise).
And then there is her boss I just don't know what to say about him, aside from just wow I just don't know why he keeps on making all these weird request to the titled character. And right afterwards all of suddenly remembers that he is not a Female or a Cripple or whatever, and some times it takes the Titled character to remind him that he's not a Female r a Cripple or whatever that he has the heroine do in that particular episode. And speaking of I also have no clue on what to make of 'Special' Agent 14 in one hand he was Drawn to look like some one who suffers from a Mental Illness like Autism or some other Mental Illness like that, but on the other hand he doesn't act like that In Fact he acted like any other Normal Human Being with a Pretty wife. And remember when I said that some of the Villain's have Sexually Suggestive names? Well Guess what? That also applies to her boss as well.
And for me Personally One of the Worst Parts is that at least Three of the Episodes does Contain Trigger Warnings for those that Sadly have Body Issues. And that's not the Worst Part The Worst Part is that it was all Played For Laughs. I had to be a little Preachy right now, but in this case I feel I need to be. You're Beautiful The Way You Are No Matter Who You Are or What You Look Like on Both The Inside and The Outside. And Unless I'm forgetting anything else that should do it for now.
Final Thoughts= So to answer the question does this show hold up after all of these years? My Answer is that if you are into Shows like Futurama and Family Guy than you might like this show, that's if you could still find away to watch it. As this show like the pervious that I have mentioned was Very Tongue And Cheek also as I have stated in my review. But as for me well you already know what I thought of it. As for my Final Verdict wow this was a tough one. As I Don't Fully Hate It but at the same time I Don't Fully Like it either for the reasons that I have Mentioned in my Review. As I'm Lucky enough to Own the DVD of this show I do still go back and Rewatch it from time to time, and I do find it Fun to Watch But Not Funny to Watch. But on the other hand my Desire to Rewatch this show on DVD isn't all that Large nor that Frequent. And so hare we have what I thought of this show and My Own Personal Final Verdict of it.
Stargate SG-1 (1997)
Stargate SG1 Exposed.......
The Cons= I mind as well get the Negatives out of the way First. To start us off oh my System Lord what was the point of Season 8? I felt that Season 8 was not only the Weakest Season of the show, but also a Complete and Utter Waste. Not Only of a Season but also a of your time, at least it was a waste of mines. They not only had no clue what they wanted to do with Season 8 by seemingly not having a Big Seasonal Arc. And no Seasonal Big Bad but also they didn't even tried to continue or even finish up already an existing story arc. But also I found that the Two Part Season Finally was not only a Big Fat Snoozer but also pointless. As I felt that the so called Season Finally Cliffhanger was all that good or exciting. And to top it all off if memory serves it was completely forgotten by the time that Season 9 came around. It literally felt like "Oh So It Was Destined To Happened" kind of Cliffhangers. With the Season 8 Finally being a Two Parter Time Travel Story and all for our Main Characters. In Fact that Conversation Literally took place in the Final Scene of The Two Part Season 8 Finally.
I literally only enjoyed one only one Episode of Season 8. All the rest as I have already said Snoozer. So much so one of the episode is literally just the SGC preparing for a Conference or a Meeting. For the Whole Episode, for course it obviously goes with out saying the other episodes in season 8 all felt like this, Like Filler Episodes, and it's not just the episodes either Season 8 as a Whole felt like a One Long Filler Season. And even if Season 8 had a Seasonal Story I couldn't remember that's how big of a Snoozer Season 8 was to me. And one last note on
Anyways I think I've Ranted on Season 8 for long enough. Next is the the Myths and or Legends. I just feel like every Myth and or Legend was always Explained Away with the explanation of. That (Insert Myth And Or Legend Hare) is some kind of an Advanced Technology from a Super Advanced Alien Race usually from their version of Asgard. So much so I just feel that there is literally no intrigue or mystery. No imagination and absolutely no way of telling more than just SG Personal Fighting The Bad Guys types of story lines. Or even having an excuse to solve that Earth Myth and or Legend for a Spin Off SG Series. They are just stuck telling that sort of story as I've already said even with their Spin Off Shows.
And Speaking of Asgard's, what are those? The Asgard's in this show are Not Only Clones. But also they do not Resemble anything Human, despite this one culture that SG1 went to did Depict Thor as this Buff Humanoid Warrior as his Holographic Image so much so it kind of puts Chris Hemsworth to shame I terms of Body Build. Anyways this worst of all this Universe's Asgard's resemble the Stereotypical Aliens that we currently think of Short Greyish with the Stereotypical Alien Head and Face.
And I don't particularly find the Special Effects all that great either not even for back then. And definitely it doesn't hold up now I feel, now I'm not saying the Effects look Dirt Cheap or anything like that. But however I feel they had the Budget to spend on the Effects because even back when show was first filmed. Because Stargate SG1 never really looked like a Low Budget Indie Experimental Show to me. Because the Special Effects were incredible back then for Seasons 9 and 10. And not only that but I also always Loved the Special Effects of The Stargate Activating and Deactivating, from Episode 1 onwards.
Anyways moving on my next Con is that it just feels like there were little to no character Development at all. Aside from Jack O' Neill's Promotion from a Colonel to not just a General but also the head of the SGC. And Teal'c having a Son and I guess Giving Daniel Jackson a Love Interest? Character Development. Next is I just feel that Most Episodes Especially the Earlier Season ones all just feel the same. It's either go through the Stargate and Retrieve or Accidentally stumble on to some kind of High Tech Alien Device or something and the rest of the episode would be based on that. Or go through the Stargate and explore a new planet all the while maybe making a new Alien friend before defending, that alien Friend's from some kind of threat and that threat is usually comes in the from of the Series Baddies, with them usually winning the Battle at the end of every day/episode. There's no they lost and so now they have to deal with it. And if they are feeling a little Ambitious they would revert to the good old the Earth's Stargate is in Danger of Being Exposed to the Public or whatever type of Story.
And speaking of Battles, it just feels that every Villain or Villains No Matter how Advanced that they come across always a weakness for Earth Bullets. As SG1 and every other SG Solider always manages to Beat the for mentioned Villain or Villains with simple Earth Guns. All they the for mentioned Villain or Villains have Personal Force Fields and Sticks that Shoot Big Beam Blasts and some of them have an even more Advanced Tech than those. And yet SG1 and other SG Soldiers mages to hold their own with Earth Guns as I have stated a million times already. To the point it feels like it's for the sake of the Plot of the show. I didn't like when they did it in the Original Stargate Movie. I want to say it's Plot Armor but I'm not sure if how that word is used to tell the truth.
I also find that the Character of Teal'c is not only way too perfect but also all over the place. As seemingly affects him not even Mind Control but he is still Prone to Reconditioning. And Not Only That but also I found his Character to be Stale And Emotionless. It feels like the only Emotion that he is Capable of expressing is Anger and that's pretty much about it, I guess that's supposed to make him look like a warrior? Yeah give me Worf of STTNG any day. And I also found that all of the episodes that takes place on earth Incredibly Boring AF And unless I'm Forgetting anything else that should do for the Cons for now.
The Pros= Fear Not Stargate Fans I do have some Good to say as well. And I mind as well start with the Guns Despite the Mains ones the Characters use Feeling Like the Literal Ultimate Weapon against Evil. I do like the Design of those P-90's I think that's what they are called? They look kind of cool and Iconic and in terms of Non Laser Guns or Ray Guns if you prefer it's one of the most iconic Weapons in Sci Fi for me. There's something iconic about those P-90's that I can't put my finger on.
Anyways I was Really Impressed because after the Galactic Yawn Fest of Season 8, I feel they really Recovered from that in Seasons 9 and 10. As I feel Seasons 9 and 10 were Really Good Seasons. Not Only Shook things up by not only starting telling slightly better stories with even better and cooler Baddies, but also they finally decided to replace Jack I' Neill as the former leader of SG1 with Colonel Cameraman Mitchell whom vast does not feel like some kind of Jack O' Neill Clone in terms of Personality. But also they attempted to finally add a Fifth Member to the SG1 Team. Whom I feel is kind of supposed to be the Comedic Relief of the Team as some of the things that she says and does, sort of comes off as Humorous.
I really loved the idea of the Repacators as they kind of remind me of the Borgs of Star Trek. As they both have a lot of things in common. Then the last Positive thing that I could think to say is the Theme, whenever I listen to the theme of the show, I always thing of Exciting and maybe Epic Adventure. Which is sort of true as I have already said Adventure Yes Exciting and Epic No. And I'm not sure how I feel about them Seemly Retconning Daniel Jackson's Allergies, it's good that give his character a Flaw, but on the other hand I could why did it. I don't know I don't suffer from Seasonal Allergies myself.
It could Malfunction it could be Hacked or Simply Rewired so on and so fourth. And that should do it for now unless I'm Forgetting anything else.
Final Thoughts= As I don't really imagine myself having enough to make a Review for the two SG1 Films Hare's my Mini, Bonus whatever you want call it Review for the both of them.
Starting with The Ark Of Truth I Love it as it is a Perfect way to Cape Off not only the Series but also the Final Arc of the Final Arc of SG1. In fact it's so perfect that I consider it my Favourite Stargate Film. Even more than the Original Stargate film.
I think the only Bad Thing I Could say about this film. Was that the Ending felt a little too lazy, now I realize at the time they were both running out of time and most likely money. Now I'm not sure if they were planning on making another Stargate movie after this one? And if so I wished would have used the money that they in my opinion wasted on the second SG1 Film (a little more on that film a little later) for this one instead. Had they have done that not only the ending wouldn't have been rushed by adding at least Twenty More Minutes in to it. But also the Quality of the film could have improved to the point that it wouldn't look like some kind of an extended SG1 Episode. Not that I have anything against that last part mind you to a certain extent.
Next is the Continuum I just feel it's a not a particularly good movie. The Plot of that 'Movie' is so simple that it could be summed up in one or two sentences. The Plot Rip out the Last Symbiote out of the Last Baddie, but last Baddie Escapes and goes back in Time and Alters it, but that alteration does not give him any Big Advantage. I feel I have just made it sound a lot more exciting than it actually is. As right after when SG1 Fallows Final Baddie through the Stargate and Back In Time I feel that when the starts becoming a Massive Snore Fest for a Good Chunk of it. And I don't particularly like the Climax of the Film as I never really felt the weight of it.
In my Opinion they could have taken the film and Smashed it in to a Single Episode.
Up (2009)
A Little Bit Of A Failed Adventure.....
The Bad= I'm Sorry to say but I Personally don't find that Infamous Montage, to be all that emotional. However I did find the 'Once Upon A Time's' Version of that very same Montage Incredibly Heart Breakingly Sad to the Point of Hard Tears. The Defence? With The 'Once Upon A Time' version I've got to know the Characters through out the course of the series, their Trials and Growth from those trials Etc both as Individuals and as a Couple. And that's why I always feel like I was Beat Up whenever I rewatch that Scene. I'll even goes as far as to say it even gets to the point where I'm basically doing the Darth Vader 'No' Scream but with tears again every time I rewatch that scene.
But back to the film of 'UP' oh sure I get UP is not a movie and not a Show. See the thing is by having the Montage at the beginning instead of near the end of the film, perhaps serving as Carl's main motivator in the Climax. At the very only then I would feel something, or at the very least saving the end of that montage for the said Motivator all the while keeping the rest of the Montage the same. At least that way I probably would have felt something.
Anyways moving on I personally didn't feel anything for Russell I found him on the tads bit in the Annoying side. And as for Dug the Dog I really how incredibly dumb he is, and I don't find that Squirrel Gag all that Amusing. And speaking of I felt the same way with the whole adventuring of the film. And the logic or lack there of. Of a house even of that size could be lifted up by a bunch of Balloons is ridiculous even for a kids film. Oh sure it's kind of iconic and all of that but I just believe that. Oh sure imagining Toys coming To Life when no human is around is nice. Imaging our Emotions having Avatar Bodies while in our heads contorting us in a way is not only fun but at least we could pretend that it is possible. But not a floating house tied to a bunch of balloons that's way too big of a stretch.
And speaking of I just feel that the villain of the film to be on the unrealistic side. As he is clearly a lot older than Carl himself whom is an old man himself. And when he himself was a kid his Adventurer Idol who happens to be the Big Bad of the film is already in his adult years, but by the Carl accidentally runs in to his idol, on his adventure he is in his 70's or 80's. While his idol is still in his late 90's. But at the same time he walks and even fights like a 60 may 70 year old. I could suspend my imagination for many things but for those as I have already said way out there. Now I realize I'm not the Targeted Audience but at the same time I feel that some of the themes and content are a little too mature for the targeted audience. Sure I'm not saying use Guns or anything but still I feel that the targeted audience would either not care or understand or both of what this film is trying to say. And unless I'm missing anything else that should do it for the Negatives for now.
The Good= Despite all that I have said I admit I do like the "Why Wait For Tomorrow When You Could Do Today". And I also like the Message of "Never Let Your Dreams Go No Matter What Obstacles Comes Your Way". The next Positive that I could give it is, yes I may hate Russell the kid but do like the Sudo Grandpa Grandson relationship between the two. Even thou they are not related in anyway. In fact so much so I wished that was what film about both Carl and his wife Ellie Adopting Russell raising him as their own, instead of this big adventuring. I'm not saying they should take the adventuring out of it completely Just make it secondary. But if must keep the adventuring in the forefront I would prefer what I've already said in the above. And the last Positive that I could think of giving it is that I gotta Applaud them for, trying to make Russell into any but a One Dimensional Character by giving him sort of Background. In away of explaining why he is the way he is. And that should do it unless I'm missing anything else.
Little House on the Prairie (1974)
Little Hope On The Prairie.....
The Good= I'm going to start with the Best thing about this show. And that would be even though it may seem formulaic at first. But for me Personally I don't mind in this case. As I just Love how each episode always have this Happy Go Lucky Ending in way or another regardless of what the characters had just went through in the episode. And with this being based on not only a series of books by Laura Ingalls Wilder, but also real life event in her life just makes it that much incredible. And at the same time it really helps hammer in on what they are trying to say, and that is that good old phrase of. When Life Gives You Lemons Make Lemonade with them. And on top of that each episode also seems to have some kind of Positive Message and Lesson in them be it Hidden or not so Hidden.
Any other thing that is great about this show is the Theme Song, there's something about it that feels so Wholesome and Pure about it to me. And it's not just theme song either but most episodes seems to have that very same feeling. Even if the episode is about the Death of one of the Ingalls extended family members. And for the rest of the episode not only the rest of Ingalls family members but also everyone of their friends are dealing with it, chances are that episode would most likely have some kind of Happy Ending with a character or characters accepting the Death of that said Extended Family Member. And sadly that's about the only Good that I could think to say about this show at the moment.
The Bad= As Good and Wholesome this show is, I just Hate how a lot of the Episodes are really Hit Or Miss especially in the Later Seasons.
Then there is the Character of Mary Ingalls. As much as I like that character. It's just that it feels she has the Exact same World Ending Reaction to every Life Changing Situation that happens to her. Which includes her being forced to get eye glasses. And it always starts out with every one around her especially her own family members rightfully trying to comfort her with their own sympathy for her and whatever life changing situation is happening to her. And Angrily and Stubbornly she always manages to push them all away. And then in end it would usually take Some Tough Love from either parent to get her to not only Accept and Move Pass whatever Life Altering Situation she's going through but also Snap Her out of her World Ending Mood that she's currently in. I really hope that the Real Mary Ingalls didn't act like that towards every Life Altering Situation. A lot of The Character Evolutions was very well done.
Also I find a lot of things really offensive in our Morden day and age. So much so I feel if this show was made today it would never be Green Lit for TV or for Streaming. But at the same time I understand that is how things where back then, which includes some of the words that they used through the show.
And then there is Nellie Oleson Good Golly Miss Molly is she Glass Shattering Annoying when she needs to cry and whine in the scene. Either than that I like the Actress that betrays Nellie she was really good at it. And speaking of Good Golly Miss Mollys. Wow not only the actress that betrayed Nancy Oleson was really a terrible actress at the time but also, she just feels like some kind of Defective Clone of Nellie. Where Nellie does have her moments Nancy on the other hand not only acts more spoiled than Nellie ever had in fact I would go as far to say Nancy is the Very Definition and Poster Child of the Term 'Spoilt Brat', amongst other characters even if they are just for one episode only. And speaking of Nellie I just don't get the relationship between Her and Laura, I mean are they Rivals or Friendnamies or what. As some times they get along and other times not so much, and often at times in the very same episode. Aside from the characters this show just feels like a show where kids going out having some times literal adventures and returning safe at by the end of the episode. And the last thing that I could think of is that almost every episode feels like it takes place during the Summer and Rarely During the Winter and never any other two seasons. And even then it's almost always a nice Hot or at least Warm Sunny Day. And I just don't know if this is a Good thing or a Bad thing, this show just feels really bare bones at times. But I guess that's why this show feels as Wholesome as it is. And unless I'm missing anything else that should do it for now.
Final Thoughts= I just like the DVD Cover Art for every season of the show, they just have this Family Photos feel to them.
Star Trek: Picard (2020)
Started Out Fine....
The Good= At last a Post Star Trek Nemesis Project that I actually liked when it comes to Star Trek Projects (Duh). Because to be Perfectly Honest every Star Trek Project that came out after Nemesis it's not all that good in my personal opinion. And hare's my mini reviews for each. Star Trek (2007) at the time I was totally confused because JJ Abrams the creator of the Chris Pine Star Trek Films, said that it's supposed to take place in an Alternate Timeline but not Huh? Aside from that it just felt a little too much like Star Wars to me. And I've already made a Review in hare for Star Trek Into The Darkness or as I like to call it Star Trek II The Wrath Of Khan Remake. And as for Star Trek Beyond I think it's the Best out of this Trilogy of Films. And even then it's really largely forgettable but enjoyed the closing scene. Then as for Star Trek Lower Decks, it feels a little too much like Family Guy or Futurama but with a Star Trek Skin. And I already made a Review in hare for Star Trek Discovery right hare on IMDB. And as for Star Trek Prodigy, quit simply way too childish for my tastes. And Finally as for Star Trek Strange New Worlds to be honest I completely lost interest in it after the Third Episode. And aside from that one character the one that kind of looks like a punk, feels more like a Fan doing one of those Fan Experience at a Star Trek and or Sci Fi Convention, than an actual character.
Anyways back to Star Trek Picard I really think the Show stared Strong and Deferent from your usual Hares The Starship for the Show and Hare's all of the Characters for the show now let's go on adventures type of Star Trek Show. Instead it tells a cohesive story for each season. I like how in the First Season it shows that not everything was all Hunky Dory like you might expect it to, and it was also nice to see two actors from my all time favourite Star Trek Show Star Trek Voyager. Show up and even better one of them was a main character in Picard like they was on Star Trek Voyager.
Then there is that Season One Finally wow that was not only crushing to me Personally but, more importantly I thought it was a great conclusion to a Certain Character. And moving on to Season Two I admit not all of the points hit but I found it more often than not it was a well rounded season. Even thou I'm not happy with the whole season being basically Back To The Future. But in either case just like with the First Season the Season Finally for Season Two was also Pretty Solid in my opinion. And unless I'm Forgetting anything else that should do it for the Positives.
The Bad= Most of my Problems Lay in the still going Third Season Currently. At Point Of Review. To start off I feel that the Trailer lied a little as to regards of getting some scenes in the light. And so far I just feel that the First Three Episodes of the Final Season ONLY had Scenes in the Dark. So Dark in fact I've just simply given up due to. Me having some Game Of Thrones Final Season flashbacks.
Next is I feel that the USS Titan is way too Durable, I mean a wreckage of an another ship was literally hurled right at them. And on top of that the USS Titan was constantly under attack since the Second Episode of the Season, by another Ship that was Stronger and I think More Advanced than the USS Titan. And of course it goes with out saying they never got the chance to retreat nor hold a proper meet to see if they could come up some kind strategy and maybe repair the ship before going in for the next round. And not only that some one on Board even tried blow the Ship to High Heavens. Although the Bomb did go off but the Ship was not only fine but also still in one piece. And keep in mind that was a relatively large Explosion.
And I really didn't like the direction that they took Raffi for this final season of Picard. And speaking of Raffi I'm really disappointed that they did not at least that I know of capitalized on her and 7 Of 9's Friendship from Season Two. And as for the 'Big Bad' for this season she's so hidden for most of the time I just simply don't care her nor about the big mystery which also doubles as this final season's story. I'm mean I didn't even care about the Star Trek TNG Characters that I'm used to and in a way grew up watching from of course Star Trek The Next Generation (TNG) nor about there relationships with one another on Picard. And if you can't even do that in my opinion you've Failed Miserably. And Lastly all of the Original characters from the First Two Seasons of Picard seems to have disappeared with out even a mention. Aside from of course Raffi. And unless I'm Forgetting anything else that should do it.
Final Thoughts= As far as Shorts go for The Physical Release of the First Season of Star Trek Picard. I love I thought it was touching even though it was maybe a Fifteen Minute or so short, they really make you feel something for each of the two characters in that short, and by the I don't know the title of it. The only thing I wished they gave was a little bit more back story for both of those two kids in the short, in terms of their past with one another.
The One (2001)
The Not So Perfect One.....
The Good= First and for most what I Really Love about this film is. That it has not just one but also two and the beginnings of a third, Asian Male Interracial Female Romantic Relationship. As the only other place that I've seen that is currently as of this Review is on the Day Time Soap Opera 'Days Of Our Lives' with Li and Gabi Hernandez. That feels Rare Especially in Pop Culture, in fact in Pop Culture it always seems to be the Opposite with Asian Female and Interracial Male Romantic Relationship. Instead of the other way round.
Anyways another thing that I really love about this films is that Jet Li, was able to show case his talents of playing both a Reluctant Hero and a Straight Up Villain all in the same film. And then there is the Soundtrack if you grew up in 2001 you would absolutely go bonkers over the Soundtrack, because I did. As every time that I watch The One I could help but have a huge smile on my face every time when one of the songs came on. Okay I admit one or two of them I recognized more from my WWF/WWE Wrestling Fandom days but I still smiled through the other songs too like Last Resort and Blood Brothers. Then next there is the Opening in My Own Personal Personal Opinion the Opening of the Film was really Awesome. I also like how Jason Statham's Funsch character and since this is a Non Spoiler Review I Sadly Can't Explain Why. And going back to Jet Li Show Casing his Talents, I like how there seems to be a Constant Good And Evil Ying and Yang theme throughout. I fact one of Jet Li's characters even mentions the balance of Ying and Yang. And unless I'm Forgetting anything else that should do it for the Positives for now.
The Bad= I think one of the biggest things that this film suffers from. Is Conveniency as anything and every thing that any character does always some how working out more or less, all because of that Conveniency. I don't know if that has anything to do with the Runtime as this film is not that long. And that brings me to my next point this movie feels like it should be at least thirty or forty minutes longer. Because as is this movie only feels like it's only a little over thirty minutes long. Normally that would be a good thing because I believe you shouldn't notice the time when you're watching a movie but with this one I just crave more than what the actual Runtime of this move actually offers.
In particular in the scene where that one Radiologist was getting set up and preparing to examine one of the Jet Li's. As that scene ends the Door Behind him Mysteriously Closes, and the worst part that was never fallowed on at all through out the rest of the film. Which gets to ask "What's the point?" And that outta do it as this film is that short. Unless I'm missing anything else.
Final Thoughts= Despite my problems with the Runtime, it's still not a bad way to Spend An Hour and A Half. Particularly if in a room full of adults and not kids. As I just realized that this Movie is roughly the same length as your typical Disney and or Pixar movie. I find that really interesting in a way.
