The Wilds (2020)
Season 1 was everything! What a unique premise
This show was recommended on a 2022 Huffington Post list of "Movies, TV Shows And Docs to Stream For Women's History Month."
The character development is topnotch, with each episode dedicated to revealing pertinent character background information to explain their current circumstances on the island. The show touches on deep topics of all kinds (racism, child abuse, underage sex, domestic violence, etc.) and could be described as "dark" at many points. Dark, but captivating. Overall a fantastic series.
IMPORTANT! Please take care while watching Season 2, Episode 6 "Day 46/26." There is an unnecessarily brutal depiction of deceased animals.
Also, I would recommend only watching this with others capable of much empathy.
Mayor of Kingstown (2021)
Save yourself the time
The amount of violence (rape, executions, prison fights, etc) and perpetuation of cliches about the incarcerated population in America is hard to watch, let alone call it entertainment. Don't waste your time.
How I Met Your Mother (2005)
Cringe-central
Basically a "Friends" rewrite gone wrong and the narration is the worst. Coupled with the awful / cheesy / patriarchal humor and typical 2000's full-white cast? No thanks.
