Killjoy 2: Deliverance from Evil (2002)
I liked it
Huge Debbie Rochon fan here. Ms. Rochon don't have much to do but look worried but nonetheless it was nice to have her character survive the carnage.
Fun time waster with a bunch of over aged teens and their chaperons stranded in the woods where two of them conjure Killjoy who then proceeds to kill them in somewhat amusing ways.
Trent Haaga is awesome as the baddie. The rest of the cast are there pretty much just to annoy the viewer and eventually die.
Things get a little clichéd and dull until Mr. Haaga pops up to be honest. The ending felt a little rushed and was somewhat of a letdown.
Overall a fun watch if like me you enjoy watching Ms. Rochon and Mr. Haaga.
Day of a Thousand Screams (2012)
Feels like an experimental film
As dumb as this is, it has moments to please fans for writer/director Reuben Rox has made an awfully confusing low budget quickie.
The first half is best with a bunch of dumb people "trapped" in the woods even if some editing tricks undercut the horror. Things happen quite fast, including the death scenes. The second half deals with the survivor of the first half terrorized by someone/something. In all honesty, things got a little dull as nothing really happened until the very end. The ending did leave me satisfied even though there was no gore involved.
The female cast is super pretty (especially Ms. Franklin who plays the lead), but there's no skin to speak of. One of the murder sequences was creepy, however this is not the same old gore murder crap like most of its ilk.
If you set your brain to zero, this is a fun watch even if it is hampered by what I'm sure was a very low budget.
Sorority House Massacre (1986)
One of my favorites
Slasher films from the eighties are my favorite, they just don't make them like this one anymore.
Four sexy sorority girls and their dumb boyfriends (really dumb) are stalked by one of the girls' crazy brother. This is fairly bloodless and not that original, but it has something it appeals to me, I don't know if its the lead actresses (they are quite good) or the background music or the dream sequences. The first time you watch this is a lot of fun to guess who will be the next one to die, fortunately, the dumb boyfriends are the first to get killed, leaving us with three of the terrified girls (in little clothing, bra-less) trying to get away from the killer.
Revenge of the Unhappy Campers (2002)
Okay
Not great, not bad, just okay. Bunch of counselors meet grisly deaths in Friday the 13th fashion. Most of the girls are strong willed, but bitches while the guys are merely fodder for the killer. Nothing new here, just fairly well done. Just watch for the different ways people die, none are alike. This movie has all the typical nudity and then some. All of the young cast takes their clothes off at one time or another. There are comedy bits here and there provided by Ms. West, plenty of gore and decent acting. Something I really didn't like about this one was the hatefulness and nastiness towards men.
There are a couple of surprises along the way, but nothing new.
