Electricity (2014)

A sincere, gritty and heartfelt story executed beautifully
30 March 2016
Warning: Spoilers
I just watched this on BBC Iplayer and thought I would write a review.

Unless you are from the UK you may not be accustomed to what life can be like here. This was a realistic interpretation of life growing up in a broken home on a housing estate.

The main character Lily O'Conner (Agyness Deyn)was awesome. I really liked her because she was endearing, brave and understated. Everything about her was perfect. She overcame a difficult childhood and developed into a young woman with a brilliant personality.

The acting, directing and screenplay was excellent. Films like this are real gems but often slip through the net.

It was a really nice story.

Overrated and Disappointing
30 March 2016
Warning: Spoilers
This movie was a box office success and I do not understand why.

You know what to expect from the Marvel franchise but this was a poorly written script even by their standards. I absolutely hate the overly clichéd dialogue which has become tiresome. No real though went into the plot which is simplistic and fanciful. The special effects are good but it's loosely held together by a plot that doesn't make sense. For example I just found the whole idea that Deadpool believed he was going to persuade the person who tortured him and destroyed his life to help him completely ridiculous. That basically was the plot.

I know I'm in the minority here and that's sad. There are far better films that flop. The directing, the acting and the screenplay is nowhere near worthy of the rating on here.

Unremarkable

If the 7.8 rating and reviews on this site are to be believed then this is one of the greatest films ever made. Of course I don't believe everything I read. I was curious and decided to check it out.

I had never watched any of the Jesse Stone Series. I knew this was a low budget television film and my expectations were not high.

I liked Tom Selleck's character. He always knows the right thing to say. The overall acting in this film wasn't the worst I've seen. The directing and the plot is slow at times and it just doesn't seem convincing.

This is a substandard film. Then again I have been watching a lot of dross recently. My last review on here was of 'Knock Knock' (Keanu Reeves) and this is not as bad as that idiotic pile of poo.

This film will probably end up on Channel 5, in the early hours when nobody is awake to watch it. It wasn't very memorable.

It's a sad day

Warning: Spoilers
I am not the only person to register with this site to write a review on this film which does not surprise me given what I have seen.

This film is about a happily married family man(Keanu Reeves)who is targeted by two young women who appear on his doorstep one evening when his family are away. They proceed to seduce, blackmail, overpower and torture him. The film ends with an explicit video of their encounter being uploaded to his Facebook account and his family returning to their vandalised home whilst he is left immobilised in the back garden. At the end we learn that the modus operandi of the two girls is to find and seduce married men and then ruin their lives by revealing the depravity to their loved ones to teach them a lesson.

There is no discernible plot. The acting is mediocre and there are simply no positive comments I can make about this film. The whole concept is ridiculous and there is never any real suspense other than hoping the film will end swiftly.

Now, I could have ignored this movie had it not been for Keanu Reeves. Once it would have been inconceivable for a distinguished man of his standard to accept a script like this. I am worried for him. Is he in decline? On the evidence of this movie he could dare I say it end up like Nick Cage and so many others. It's a sad day.
