Paparazzi of war, 4/10

I have a hard time knowing if the film is a tribute to war reporters or quite the opposite.

Journalists are cynical, drugged to death, they leave colleagues behind for the extraordinary photo.

They are cold, distant, spectators, insensitive.. courage or madness, who knows... .. the civil war is just a pretext to bring reporters into a world known to the general public.

.. I prefer documentaries for this kind of perspective.

.. The acting is not that amazing, the cast even worst, the girl looks 12 years old , and i wonder why the hell she is in the car... .. I guess it would have been better to do a tv show with 3 saison 30 episodes, to get deeper into this job.

Why did you keep this title?

The film has nothing to do with its so-called predecessor.

In 1989, the film was incredible, the women were very sexys and the heroes smoked more than they talked.

It was the story of a professional who restored order in a bar. A chef..

today he's a brawler who fights...very hollow I was hoping for better from the final fight between the two protagonists, but again it was disappointing.. I was probably disturbed by the camera or the modern choreography...

In the end I really want to go to GlassKey and see this bridge.

2024 ROADHOUSE should have been called: A movie.

Wow..stunned by this film full of action... modern and at the same time oldschool...this film is made for old people like me.

For example the fight on the bridge in venice is like a part of street fighter game with a care for the choreography of the fight which recalls a good action movie such as a JCVD of course I'm disappointed by the parachute drop scene which makes Ethan arrives at the right place and at the right time... but hey it's still a movie and the rest of the action on the train is just incredible... .

The story is great and very scary .. AI is horrible.. It s almost a scify movie but so real.

Congratulations i can t wait for the part 2.

An esoteric film, not easy to watch.

Philosophically the message on faith above all and finally freeing oneself from manipulation, seems to me understandable because of the rise of fundenmatalism.

Between prophecy and reality, a marvel like no other.

Very modern, fun and with a great message for , perhaps, the gamers at first..

Live your life, don t be a follower , a noob , a slave or a N P C..

I won t go any further... everybody's can take what he needs in this movie.

The plot was stolen from peninsula even the plothole from peninsula have become craters .. the zombies are werewolf .. ... there are still beautiful action scenes that make the film entertaining.

And I agree , the daughter s motivations are really unrealistic..

Very average to me.. I Would say why? Why beta you did this? Why carol you did this? Why negan you did this? Why Daryl you did this?

...

And the detour into the z nation world it s totally misplaced..

I do not know it's in th comic though, but I think it doesn't match the atmosphere of TWD built during theses 10 seasons.

It takes 41mn to Special Victims Unit to tell the exact same story. Then 8 episodes sounds like the story has been stretch a little bit too much…

The story is far from being original, movies such 'Just case', 'The life of David Gale', 'the green mile' etc etc , explore the territory of the reasonable doubt…

So why the buzz ???? I am still wondering, the show is slow, full of "déjà vue"….

Riz has no charisma and his character Naz.. is like a dead leaf in autumn wind… So I wonder during 8 episode if he was the luckiest man on earth or the opposite…

I won't talk about the pathetic crush of Chandra

The show ends, everyone are back to their life, some have changed others not…same as us I guess….

Geostorm (2017)

The 3.D is amazing, probably the best use of it i saw. But then again I am afraid about the future of cinema since 3-D is very restrictive for the staging. In every frames involving interaction between people, you have one guy in a corner or the director overuses closes up to give the illusion of depth. Then some scenes are very repetitive and the director work cannot be appreciate.

But, of course it is balanced with the visual effects… The space scenes are amazing and sometimes breath-taking..

This disaster movie does the job…we have destruction, people dies without discriminations, we have storms, tornado, blizzards and tsunamis… But I am sad because of the lack of meteorites or an icy comet …lol

Of course the plot is so so….From the start you dive in the delirium contemporary sci-fi pop culture with the insanity of a satellite controlling the weather. Then you can detached yourself from reality and enjoy the grotesque motivation of an old fashion James bond's villain..

I am sad for Andy Garcia who was the worst president in the screen history…He can't act anymore….

Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017)

I think, Tom Holland, incarnate the closest Peter Parker to date… Very carefree, talkative and funny…. But I was very choked with the hi-tech suit, I said 'what the hell', the abilities of Spidey are skin-deep and not technological…..

And then I realized I am old, and this movie is for the 21st century teens and no one want to see a spidey in a 70s suit.

It is a true spidey of his times….

The story is interesting, the cgi s are weak sometimes and the editing very amateurish. In fact the movie is just above average and a bit too long

Cars 3 (2017)

The Movie reminds me Rocky 3, our hero loses face on a younger rival, his mentor does not exist anymore, it is necessary for him to find other reference marks.

Whereas the one was an improbable film and supers funny … The second was a pastiche of spy film, on the ecological wave with a beautiful competition between two cars so different but animated with the same desire of victories.

This one is too dramatic, lacks of jokes and genuine story line … It is a mixture between a victorious come back and the hand-over between the master and the rookie..

So it is very confusing, the plot is then impossible and bad written….. how a car/pilot can finish a race started by another car/pilot ?

At the end, I did not laugh and I did not like the plot

There is no action, no thrill or cheap scare…. It's a post zombie apocalypse dream world where you can call, get gas, go out at night, where human held the pandemic with measures such as quarantine sounds realistic.. The fact that an infected needs several weeks to mutated helps. The movie demands to the viewer a lot, it demands to dig inside your very own soul. What would you do ? Kill you own child, send him/her to a purgatory called quarantine, set him/her free. I do not know myself, but I wonder in each and every frames of the movie what would I do.

I liked when the movie focused in the loneliness of the infected. They are scared as the non-infected are scared. They are afraid and the deportation reminds the darkest time of our own history. The concentration camp so called quarantine.

It reminds me also how I was afraid of the people with AID in the beginning of the pandemic back to the eighties….

I like it a lot.

Train to Busan (2016)

best modern zombies movie

Hello,

We can argue whether a zombies should be fast or not –

In the movie, they are fast, deadly and merciless…. It is more believable than those zombies can take over a city or a country within a day.

The movie succeed where Fear The walking dead failed miserably, to explain how the pandemic starts and how it has been spread so fast.

Most of the movie take place in a train, very claustrophobic place if you are chased by a herd of undead, but it worked for me, I felt the tension, the drama, the crazy survival instinct of ones and the resignation of the others.

Walking dead made the zombie apocalypse almost cool, with guns and sex and love story, In train to busan nothing is cool, you do not have gun, your family and pretty much everyone you know are dead, there is no escape and nobody will come to save you ..

I spent 2 marvelous hours watching a movie about zombies, I despite the fact I watched hundred movies about zombies, I have been surprised and scared.

Thésée versus the Minotaur

The episode really established the legend of Negan. The labyrinth of Crete and the Myth of the minotaur, all together in this episode.

The cat and mouse game through the wood like a maze without escape, the encounter with the monster half sphinx half minotaur……. The enigma as a cruel choice……

When Myth meets legend meets fiction meets reality……..

The Titans of ZA finally met and we know the winner………

This episode should be referred inside history books.

I am really looking forward for next season... Who died does not really matter since everyone will die eventually
