one of the best scifi on TV

I like how ppl talk about science. I am not a geek to understand and recall if every scientific methods and theories used on the show are accurate but i still love it. I love how they developed bond amongst each other. i see why viewers hate michael burnham's vulnerability,but hey she should be vulnerable, as she is human. some storylines may be very basic, and predictably favorable but i could not complain. It's good entertainment. The show takes me away to the universe whenever im watching it. i find Jett Reno's sarcasm funny.

Dont expect super hardcore interstellar level of show on star wars so you wont get disappointed.

The Haunting of Bly Manor (2020)

it is a ghost story, not gore, not horror.

I tend not to compare the Hill House from Bly Manor because both series are about ghosts anyway with different backstories. And every ghost has a story to tell -- and that's what matters. Dont expect gore. In some tell-tales, ghosts that lingerkeep re-living the days they died. bly manor. I like the way each of the character's backstory were told and the connections were unfold. I think the repeats of the pasts were meant to annoy the viewer just as how a ghost could be as annoyed reliving their pasts again and again and again.

The one star missing on my rating is for the ridiculous claim of the ending, that the kids do not remember the specifics of their pasts. I can't believe none of them were even as affected after they heard the story.. I just can't comprehend this part. But I love the idea that good and evil were equally win.

The Old Guard (2020)

Astounding

Didn't expect much on the movie even if it was already the number 1 in my region on Netflix. I like the concept of warriors and immortals(ish), I only hope they kept Noriko. other than that everything is good. Stunts are great, for people who aren't fond of slow -paced movies, i think this movie wont bore you. Charlize Theron did so well. She's the new epitome of a female warriors such as tomb raider, elektra, jill (resident evil). Even Kiki Lane was amazing. The fighting scenes she was on were entertaining. Her stunts were extraordinary. This baby is a pro!

Heneral Luna (2015)

The feels and a bit of gore.

One of the very few Filipino movies that pulled off a whole entertainment package - it's got humour, drama, action, gore and indeed educational. This movie should actually have a cut version so it can be safely shown to highschool school students.

I've heard people who were against this movie (the apologists of Aguinaldo).

John Arcilla did a fantastic job portraying Antonio Luna - he's perfect. I felt every anger and disappointments of the late general through his depiction of Luna's character.

The special effects shocked me. I guess I did not expect a Filipino movie to effectively showed how a soldier's head exploded on someone else's face. Also blood squirting off a leg. Who ever were responsible for these effects should show the Fillipino horror movies how these effects are properly done.

The cinematography is fantastic, not too fancy, but it still takes me back to the olden days.

Every detail, the hair style, clothing and even the fabric used was so accurate.

Pacific Rim: Uprising (2018)

I like fast-paced movies like this. If you are a movie-goer who likes twists, and with very precise story lines, you need a little bit more patience. Just think that you are in the cinema to sit back and relax, do not over think! this is not star wars!

I Kill Giants (2017)

it's not what you think it is.

When you jumped on the couch and decide to binge watch on a fantasy movie, this is not the one you are aiming for, I admit I was a bit disappointed towards the mid part of the movie when everything start to unfold.

i carried on and towards the end, I thought this movie is helpful in real life--- the message it brought me is a deeper understanding other people's behaviors would explain a lot. humans use behavioral tactics as defense mechanism to fight off or deny what they dislike in reality. this movie may be a little tragic for kids to watch however it may also give them some sort of realization that other kids may not be acting out of the norm due to situations that they are dealing with at home.

It is a sad ending but a little fulfilling if you absorb the message of the whole movie.
