Thor: Ragnarok (2017)

Powerful yet light on heart.

This is the best attempt from marvel comics to make an Thor movie, by the way it's the best Thor movie from miles part compared to other ones. The things that I liked about the movie were the setup and continuity in the story which were missing from the previous movies. This is Chris Hemsworth's best performance since all the performance as the character, Tom Hiddleston was pure gold as Loki and Cate Blanchett ha set a bar for all the actors in the whole franchise and Tessa Thompson should also should be praised as she scored full marks when it comes to technicality of acting. Mark Ruffalo as Hulk was also great as Dr. Bruce Banner. About the story it was good that it was having some fluidity and cinematography was great as it is visual harmony. The director did a good job to make the movie simple and understandable as it could be, because other marvel movies forces you to watch there other presentations. The song preferences for the movie was also good and suits best for all the situations. The imagery was also really nice. The bunch of things that I didn't liked about this movie was Hulk/Bruce Banner as a character wasn't given more screen time or a backstory explanation about the character situation. Tessa Thomson/ Valkyrie was also not suffering from same issues as the Hulk which makes her performance very unrelatable(but the actress did her best to cover it/Full marks there). Overall there should be some backstory provided for all the incident. Many Characters from the previous movies like Idris Elba/Heimdall and Anthony Hopkins/Odin were not utilized properly. This sums up that only draw back about the movie is that there are many characters which were under-utilized and they shine because of there acting prowess. I wanted a explanation about Jeff Goldblum/Grandmaster's character which was not given. BOTTOM LINE: This is really a sound movie technically and emotionally but not a cinematic masterpiece but if you are a marvel junkie or a comic book fan then you'll like this movie.

Goosebumps most of the time

The review is late, but I'll still continue with it, The movie was good but it wasn't a clinical masterpiece as what everyone is saying, it just a well directed film, it does justice to horror genre by the way. The scares are prominent in every scene they could have put on, with a bit of humor. I haven't watch the older parts so my review is fresh and clear minded. The most intriguing part of the movie was horror and it doesn't fails in it and it's only the strong point The rope that keeps the movie bonded is good direction and really nice cinematography. On the acting bit Bill Skarsgård did justice to the part of Pennywise the clown. I've head that DC is making a standalone Joker Movie and they should consider him for the part. The story was sort of feeling very predictable during the conclusion of the movie and felt very childish, but I had a difference weather it was a horror movie or kids scare movie. Finn Wolfhard also did a good job but rest of the cast felt a bit like filler. Again talking about the script there was no proper backstory given so that watchers can understand what is happening and they were bit lost in establishing past, future and present. FINAL VERDICT: This movie is a one time watch and not a master-piece and it feels like it can be kept in shelves of school for movie time and can be placed within likes of Baby's day out and other hit Disney movies.

Logan Lucky (2017)

A perfect heist film

So, after a long time I watched a heist film, the last time I watched one was Tower Heist and It was bad, for me Ocean's series have set a bar for me, so I was judging the movie on that scale and I must tell you it's great, But you need you keep one thing in mind that this is not an artistic masterpiece. The things I liked about this movie was the country setup as for me it was a new thing and they were sort of trying to bring up a poor state(no offense) in lime light, second thing was acting by Daniel Craig and Riley Keough, honestly I haven't head Daniel Craig with an so deep American accent and he pulls it of great but sometimes it feels as if its makeup, about Riley Keough I didn't except she could do such genre of acting and she did an exceptional job. Channing Tatum and Adam Driver were exceptional too, as they can pull off everything, so no comment on them. The other thing great about this movie was editing and "character balance" everyone was given equal time depending upon their roles. Rest would be nit-picking about this movie but well here it is Cinematography was exceptional but it fell short when character oriented, the science didn't suit well to this movie and I didn't understood how Hilary Swank's character played out. Bottom Line would be that it's a good movie and you can store it in the cabinet but it's not that of a master piece.

Raees (2017)

Just a Shahrukh Khan Show

So, I've watched this movie from state of Gujarat from all the speculation and this is not so special critically from Shahrukh Khan Like Fan was, the movie has many talented actors but it was a whole SRK show. The things I liked about the movie was the core story of how a common man rose to a business person, sometimes like a gangster. The other positive point was that the movie show how is the system corrupt of a place now which is now obsolete. Now talking about poor in the movie, Raees had many notable actors but failed to use them properly. Talking about each actor in a row, Nawazuddin Siddiqui he's a critically praised actor but was utilized properly, The Pakistani Actor was kept just as a figure or just to sing songs. Talking about the technical aspect, The editing was very poor to increase the screen time they've tried to place songs in every 10 minutes, story had no branches and it really went predictable after sometimes, there were no real hurdles and the protagonist was able to get whatever he want really easily, The movie aims on a message to archive communal harmony in the country is the place where it will archive all it's mark among the audience. Overall It's a mediocre movie just a one time watch or no watch. I can summate it as one man Show.

Doctor Strange (2016)

A trip you expected

So this the the new approach of Marvel movies, showing as magic and those old Winamp designs by the way which was fabulous, this the the one movie you should watch. There are many things that I liked about the movie which is the direction of Scott Derrickson. All the actors played there part completely well, the most peaky part of the movie was the cinematography was was well done and the best part was all the actors were utilized properly, so it didn't fell that the movie would have been done without this part or that part was just to run the screenplay, I would like to praise Tilda Swinton and Chiwetel Ejiofor as they really impressed be and it was the first tie I saw them on the screen and I really never had complaints about Benedict Cumberbatch but there's a criticism about him too, and Mad Mikkelsen was up to the mark. The things that I didn't liked about the movie was the screen play as it felt a kind of rushed as I wanted to know more about the backstory but it was then overlapped by the suspense followed by epilogue, Rachael McAdams felt just a figure in the movie and Benedict Cumberbatch actually didn't had to flex his muscle as he was still playing the same arrogant guy from Sherlock without Watson. Comedy was also not up to the as it felt they are rushing to tell the story and just wanted to establish the New Thor Movie. BOTTOM LINE : You should surely go and watch this movie, it's the best marvel has to offer till date.

Shivaay (2016)

Overload of montages and clichés and felt a bit funny

So this was an anticipated film by Ajay Devgn as his Directorial test and as a actor, I'm must say that as a director he failed and as a actor I'm not really impressed by the movie but he really has some skills and would shine if given a better script for both the skills(As a Director and Actor). Well this movie isn't that good but many fanboys will still argue, so it's my honest opinion. The things I liked about the movie was cinematography and action and stunts, it was like Ajay Devgn has taken some tips from Rohit Shetty literally. That's about it that I liked about the movie. There are about many things to dislike about the movie like poor plot placement as the places in the movie wasn't relevant at all, there was nothing to care about the character as most of them felt enforced like Erica Kaar as she literally did nothing to the movie, The girl who played Ajay Devgn's daughter was felt enforced the new comer Sayyesha Saigal was impressive but irrelevant to the story and Vir Das was just wasted and the antagonist of the movie was pretty much non-existent. Story failed to establish the facts and location. If we talk about the story it felt very much stretched and even the last 15 minutes of the movie could have been wrapped up early but it was terrifically stretched in try to establish some sort of emotional bond with the audience in which it failed. BOTTOM LINE: If you are reading this review please don't watch this movie as it's utter waste of time and money.

M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story (2016)

This movie is good but not great

It's a one time watch not very good movie which was not very well directed and according to me has a very mediocre screen play, you wouldn't get what you wanted to see in the movie which makes it normal Bollywood movie which it is. This movie focuses on life on Indian Cricketer MS Dhoni in which it tried to do so but failed. The things I liked about the movie was acting by Sushant Singh Rajput, Disha Patani and people who were his coaches, the segregation of the story till the first half was critically fine and set up was good. The things I didn't liked about the movie were Actor placement because here well hell lot of actors who weren't relevant to the story but I don't know what they were doing there, the movie went of the topic as it doesn't shows what Dhoni is known for an simply shows the old Bollywood phenomenon of LOVE, so no marks should be given on screenplay and there was no cinematic artistry too which can be lauded and the cricket fans wouldn't even like it. BOTTOM LINE: It's a one time watch which don't focuses on the topic and shows irrelevant things, you gain nothing from this movie as it's a critical bummer.

Pink (III) (2016)

Brings the topic of RAPE but not so good critically

It's a late review so I know no one's gonna read it. The movie is one time watch and has created a lot of buzz in Bollywood in my opinion it's not that great if "you went for what you went for"! the trailer of the movie in fact was an appealing one but deviated from the topic it felt something else but came out to be something else.Honestly I'm not disappointed by the movie but it's not that great. Talking as a critic or in technical aspect the movie didn't establish any good facts to hold on and there's no artistry in the movie and it felt very mediocre. The things that I liked about the movie was that it brings out the topic of molestation on the silver screen and acting of Amitabh Bachan. There are many things that I didn't liked about the movie for example the other actors who were there weren't actually doing anything and it felt 2 hours wasted completely, I thought that the movie was about women misusing the Indian Law but it was exploring the actual Rape culture to be politically correct it was a neutral point. there was a Big loophole from the beginning of the movie which means there was nothing to hold on and it felt sort of one sided story, there were many things which weren't explained. If they had to show this all things then movie length can be shorted to 90 minutes from being more than 2 hours long. BOTTOM LINE: It's a one time watch you'll get nothing out of it but it's fine, watch it and forget it.

Neerja (2016)

Neerja an Benchmark for Indian Cinema and Sonam Kapoor

It's an really nice film, you must watch it as it's really clean in the way it tells the story of an unsung and fallen hero of India. There are nothing to nitpick about the movies except some technical issue from that time line to this time line, but at the end there's nothing you could hate about the movie. The things I like about the movie are, the way it tells the story of Neerja Bhanot, without adding any masala Elements to it as we expect in Hindi movies, the acting by Sonam Kapoor was really fantastic for me it's her best performance at least she came out of her rich girl boots, Shabana Azim's is always as best in the movie, technically there was no fault in the movie, but if you watching int in sort of perfection there could be some non understandable things, the silent motto of the movie is also Women Empowerment which I liked. for all this the Directors has to be praised(specially for the realism). There's nothing absolutely to hate about the movie but for me this is Sonam Kapoor's Best performance yet, but she needs to improve more as actors if she wants more meaningful roles. Over the top, Bollywood is improving on it's movie Delivery as it gets better and better every year, it's one of the best Biopic in Indian cinema and more stories should be forwarded like this instead of those useless commercial movies. Bottom Line: You should definitely go and watch this movie and it should settle in your showcase comfortably.

Airlift is Nice, Need more movies with this seriousness in Bollywood

It's a really nice movie to watch if you want to know Indian POV for Kuwaiti war and problems they face You might actually like the movie if you are whole hearted tricolored flag lover, that is why I feel it's give 9.7 till this review. Everything was nice in the movie but not Excellent, I expected a sort of more from Akshay Kumar after Baby(Movie). Speaking Numerically I stepped in to expect to give an 8 after interval I thought to give 6 and after the movie I'm giving an 7. The Things that I liked about the movie was obviously acting by Akshay Kumar, because he wasn't loud like his previous movies, Purab Kohl was Midas as Always. Technically the movie felt good, the story concept was good, characterization was average, because there were too many character. The things that I didn't like about the movie was that actresses like Nimrat Kaur and Feryna Wazheir weren't utilized properly, It was the first time I saw Nimrat Kaur on screen after hearing praises about her, but I was let down as she felt as an Rich Punjabi housewife nothing else, Feryna Wazheir's A talented theater actress and her Talent wasn't used properly either. The other thing is TOO MANY MALYALEE CHARACTER representations, even the role of there General felt to be a bit on funny side instead of the serious one. BOTTOM LINE: You should obviously go to see this movie once, but it's not an that type Masterpiece but you'll like if it even though. You'll over like it if you are Pretentious Indian(No Offense).

Wazir (I) (2016)

Best Indian Thriller I Ever Saw

Awesome Acting, Direction and story in the movie, I really expected a such a master piece after seeing the trailer, Kudos To Bejoy Nambiar and Vidhu Vinod Chopra, we actually need this types of movies in India, watching the whole movie I felt it was like watching an Christopher Nolan biopic. The Things that I liked About the movie was obviously acting by Amitabh Bachan and Farhan Akhtar and Cameo by John Abraham, Aditi Rao Hydra's role was sweet and shot. Talking about the technicality awesome screenplay and story, I was really happy by the twist in the end. The things that I did't like about the movie are that John Abraham And Aditi Rao Hydari Should Have been given some big roles as well as Neil Nitin Mukhesh, well after that there's nothing wrong about the movie. I don't understand why the movie isn't doing good Business even though It had so many good elements. BOTTOM LINE: PLEASE GO AND WATCH THE MOVIE.

Bajirao Mastani (2015)

A must watch, complete balance between history and drama

the most awesome movie of this year came in the end that is Bajiao Mastani, there are no complaint about this movie from my side because there was no flaw in it except some of the cinematic errors. Even though I don't understand why it is reviewed 5.9 on IMDb after this. The things I like about the movie was that everyone acted perfectly, and everything was according to historical time line(sort of). Really like how Ranveer Singh and been moulded like an actor, Priyanka Chopra too was nice but should have been given more dialogs and Deepika Padukone as mastani was awesome no one would have acted like her. Awesome direction By Sanjay Leela Bhanshali,full marks to him for that. In the end everything in the movie was fantastic. IT TOO GIVES AN MORAL THAT LOVE IS NOT BINDED BY RELIGION. By which i come to the point that it delivers on Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Love with Drama cliché's. On funny note I want to say that we've got Joffery Baratheon of Indian Film industry. The pairing of the movie was also fantastic, I thought after Goliyoon ki Raaslella the paring wouldn't work. And the movie was poetic too. The sets were awesome. On the Negative side there were lot of Overacting done by the actor Ranveer Singh, first I thought it was the script then I thought it was his acting, and there were some useless dialogue placement in the movie too which were not required at all. If this points were taken care off then it was surely 10/10 from my side.( I started grading it from 6) BOTTOM LINE: AN Awesome MOVIE, ONES WHICH WE CAN REMEMBER AND ALWAYS KEEP IN OUR DVD CASE.

Bang Baaja Baaraat (2015– )

Not so promising! yet brings smile on your face

It's an fine Indian daily soap type drama, with the modern dilemma with many plot holes and some sort of poor direction too. About the story I would like to say as if it came out of hurry and no sort of highpoint in it. It feels if you expect something good from YashRaj banner it must have Shahrukh Khan in it. It clearly depicts the dilemma of Modern meets the old I could give some points on that, but the show keeps you busy with it's rightly placed PJ's. The things I like about the show was Acting by the new comer sorry I don't know the name but I feel she's cute, and the boys mother she acts really nice and I guess she's an Theater actor. Things I didn't like about the show was that it feels that it tries to attract hipster audience toward it.Shows things that wouldn't happen in actual life. After Y film's Man's World I expected something more from these people. Bottom Line: It's a modest show attires to keep a smile on your face till the end and can be improvised more properly.

The Martian (2015)

One of the most interesting flick i have seen this year

Overall The Martian is a nice movie. It had everything in it from acting to the drama. I personally liked Matt Damon's acting. But sometimes drama went to hight which resulted in doing of impossible things. The things i liked about the movie was awesome direction by Ridley Scott, and all the actors have acted near to perfect in this movie. They the graphical representation was her o correct of every vehicles that was used in the movie and also detailing bout the planet Mars, it showed all the problems related to a space launch and what could actually happen in Space and planet like Mars. But there are too many errors in the movie too like during the time it gets too dramatic in the end and shows the stuff that could really not happen or is not possible but in the end it's just a movie. The ONLY SIN IN THE MOVIE IS: THEY HAVE NOT SHOWN THE GRAVITY OF MARS CORRECTLY. Bottom line: You should go and see this movie, its one of the best movies this year.

Everest (2015)

Nice Movie Overall

The thing I liked about the movie was that it was clean and telling the real story about the 1996 Everest disaster, there was no dramatic sequence as such the thing we expected from the movie. this is one of it's kind of cinema. But I would like people to watch it in 3D because it gives that real depth. Only the con in the movie was the actors acting it seemed that they were not paid enough to act well or the roll was not sufficient or it was some person's point of view(just kidding), but i personally felt that the acting by Josh Broilin and Jason Clarke was fine, Sam worthington didn't get enough part in it and Jake Gyllenhaal was also good. Bottom Line: nice movie, one time watch and watch it in 3D ONLY.

TVF Pitchers (2015–2022)

India's take of Web series.

The show was really very good seen it from the first episode and giving the review, it's gives a real idea showing us how the wheels are turning when you are starting something new, I'm really happy with the show honestly but there is a reason why I'm giving it 7 stars. The things that I liked about the show was that was giving us the basic idea of how a startup is done, and it's good to see that how in country like India the trend of web series is growing and this show is the pioneer in it thanks to TVF guys. Really perfect assembled cast everyone played there part really nice, the lady who plays the role of the coders wife she's really pretty and music selection, editing, cinematography and coordination was also perfect. The things that I didn't like about the show is that after watching 4 episodes I thought about an standard that how the finale should be but the final episode really had many plot hole, the episode itself came really late after wait of 4 weeks or a month I Guess over that the finale was shifted to TVF's site instead of YouTube( Good Business strategy by TVF), where you have to sign in. Bottom line: A good show with a mediocre finale I can say, but one of its kind in India so I'm giving it a 7 if it would be out on time or the finale would have been nice then definitely I would have given 9 or 10.

Fear the Walking Dead (2015–2023)

Very Graphical Start.

First things first I really like zombies the movies made on them are interesting and I expect the shows made on them should be move detailed, I thought that it was made as a spin-off or on scale of walking dead but it wasn't, even though I gave 7 stars to walking dead on the basis of improvisation of the story. The things that I like about the show is that it's a zombie show, I want it to grow over the episode and season and I hope it proves my rating wrong, it always like this with TV series. the opening reviews are always like "Judging the Book By It's Cover." the Only thing I didn't like abut the show is it's weak caste but that could also improve as time passes by. Bottom Line : Mediocre Show, More more scope of improvements, I'm giving it 7 because it's a Zombie show.

Phantom (I) (2015)

A Story you really wished was true

First of all I don't understand why people are criticizing the movie may be they are trying to be politically correct or there radicalism is been hurt. The movie doesn't says that "All Muslims Are Terrorists" or "Pakistan Supports Terrorism" it's just showing act of war against terrorism. People seemed to enjoy, clap and salute in the movie's peak scenes. Now Talking About the movie: really good on improvisation, Saif Ali Khan Proves to be Indian James Bond After doing movies like Agent Vinod & this itself, story line of the movie was a bit mediocre and there were lot of plot holes in it. The things that I didn't liked about this movie was Katrina Kaif's acting and those PJ's these people were cracking. Some element's were copied from Munich. Bottom Line : It's India's Munich Sort of Movie, One time watch.

Game of Thrones (2011–2019)

Never seen a television show as good as GoT

I want to be truthful and say that I started watching this show this year only and I just want to say that I'm spellbound everything was just perfect from Cinematography to acting. No doubt why people like Game Of Thrones. The things that I like about the show is the way it's been showed to all of us the character representation as if they are real life, the power struggle and on a short note it teaches many things about life. Many dialogues are everyday's quotes. The show has near to perfect assembled cast. The things that I didn't like about the show is that amount of nudity they are showing which is unnecessary and irrelevant to the story. Secondly, the writers and makers include The author Itself George RR Martin, even though they are not following the book. I feel that if they follow the book then the show would be perfect and more enjoyable by the reviewers. Bottom Line: Perfect as Diamond.

Gotham (2014–2019)

Best Sypnosis you could get abut the Batman Arc

Wow, the show started with a bang Really Liked it to see Penguin rising. Can't wait the 2nd season to come. Good acting by every actor in the show especially Jada Smith. But I'm really missing Any vigilante or Batman Itself on the show. The Only thing I didn't liked about show is that it really got a bit mild in the mid season but picked up it's pace. Would really be happy to see the Batwoman arc because she's Officer Gordon wife ad i Went through the comics. The Bottom Line: As a Child I grew up seeing Batman now it's great to see the background of the villains in the story. It'll be good to see if Batman comes in the show And every children out there if you want to know about the show this is the place.
