The Boys (2019)
What is happening to season 2?!
First season was a 10/10 for me. Binge watched it with my boyfriend in 2 days. Then we begin season 2. We also binge watched the available 5 episodes in just one sitting. Unfortunately it's because we were in denial. We just couldn't believe that it wasn't getting any better. The episodes are either boring or just over the top illogical series of events full of plot holes and awful writing. At this point it's absolutely pointless to pay the actors who play A-Train and The Deep as their plots are barely going anywhere and stopped contributing to the main story. Which as an absolute waste as they were both entertaining in the previous season. Guess why they are still present despite the writers not bothering to make them relevent to the story line. The Boys also lost their quest so to speak. Compound V exposed: check Becca found: check Population aware of war crimes: check So what are they even up to anyways? Getting their names cleared sure, but how?! Proving Storm is Liberty? I mean why is that so important. I get she's a Villain but so is Homelander and A-Train. The Deep and Mauve are not exactly moral high grounds either. I have nothing but complaints about this season. So pissed, I could go on forever.
Fargo (2014)
Would have been 10 stars if not for Season 3
Fargo has been one of the best series out there since it's launch. Fantastic story writing, amazing cast and production. That also includes season 3 which I was truly hooked on despite being frustrated with the plot several times. There were some new elements introduced this season such as heavy symbolism, important story arcs being left to interpretation. These things just do not go well with Fargo's 'true story' style. In the end while I cannot say that I didn't enjoy season 3 I also can't say that I was satisfied with how it has ended and I do hope season 4 will return to its roots.
Knock Knock (2015)
It was so bad, it became entertaining
Cringe. So much cringe. The only reason I am giving this movie 3 stars instead of 1 is it's potential to be the next "The Room". If you aren't familiar with that movie; it's the most famous bad film ever made. It's meant to be a serious drama, but is actually so bad that it's funny.
This film is the horror version of The Room. After watching the trailer, I knew not to expect anything overly impressive, but as a fan of Keanu I remained hopeful that there will be something decent about it. There wasn't.
The acting was subpar, and the "plot" was just horrendous.
It starts out as the worst subplot for a porn movie. A stereotypical family man is in a middle of "very important work" but is interrupted by 2 attractive 20 something girls knocking at his front door after midnight. Oh, did I mention that they are soaking wet?
They are supposedly lost, so he orders an Uber for them and let's them wait 45 minutes in his house. 45 minutes in which they begin to seduce him... If I wasn't watching this on Netflix I would have been convinced it was going to be porn.
The movie just gets worse and worse from here. It's extremely cringy, but to the level where it's actually funny. Therefore I decided to give 3 stars.
