Interstellar (2014)
Perfection.
Great screenwriting, great direction, great acting, the greatest of all scored music, probably ever. I cannot think of a movie that does it better. Even though this movie is part of the sci-if genre, it still moves into the territory of other genres with grace and touches on important matters of the world without being too political. It's a heart wrenching movie, that always has me in tears but also in awe, just by the way that it's been made and its portrayal of a future somewhat dystopian world. I've seen this movie in different states of mind, and each time it means something different to me, but every time it moves me and provokes my thoughts in no way that another movie does. Christopher Nolan and Hans Zimmer are both geniuses in their fields, and whenever they work together they compose real magic.
Blonde (2022)
Distasteful and far from the truth
The portrayal of Marilyn/Norma is so distasteful, making her out to be incredibly dumb and ditsy. They have taken a lot of liberties with the story going far beyond "artistic freedom" just flat out making stuff up and mocking the sad but interesting and beautiful story that was her life. Only focusing on really brutal and gruesome things (some of it not even real) they missed the chance to tell her story in a way that people could learn and appreciate who she was and her accomplishments. Some of the most important bookmarks of her life story and career were left out, and it seems like there was no consideration of the real story. Absolutely disrespectful to her legacy.
No Time to Die (2021)
Great movie, awful ending
I honestly don't know how to rate this, because the majority of the movie was absolutely brilliant, however the ending is just a low blow, a desperate move to surprise the audience. If you don't want to be disappointed, don't watch the ending! I think I need to go back and watch some old Sean Connery classics.
The Wrong Missy (2020)
Generally disappointing
The plot line in this movie was very predictable, especially if you'd seen the trailer or preview on Netflix. It stuck to cheesy cliches and cheap humor. Not great, felt like a waste of time.
