The Andy Griffith Show: A Black Day for Mayberry (1963)
Laugh Track on TVLand version
They did use a laugh track in this episode. At least they did on version they aired on TVLand on 5.9.07.
Perhaps the DVD version is different. I have no idea what the original version was like. I don't specifically remember this particular episode "A Black Day for Mayberry" when it was originally broadcast on network television.
I have nothing to compare this version to. Perhaps the version on DVD had the soundtrack removed to enhance the dramatic effect of the program. Although there are portions of the show that deserve laughter - specifically those scenes involving Barney spilling the beans and Gomer trying to act serious.
Maybe some other viewer can shed some light on this.
The Life of David Gale (2003)
Not the way it was shot
I was an extra in this movie. I can still be seen in two of the three crowd scenes I was in. I was called back a few months later to re-shoot one part of the movie and shoot another scene that was cut. Part of the first shoot was not shown in the final cut at all. The director completely changed the original concept and direction of the movie. I think it would have been a much better movie had it not been changed. It would have been an award winner. I was actually looking forward to seeing the movie when it came out. When it was not critically acclaimed I knew something was wrong. Pre-shooting publicity had said this had "Oscar" written all over it. After seeing the movie I can see what happened and why it did not receive those reviews any longer. I did not recognize the movie I had participated in. I am not as proud to say that I was in this movie. I very rarely mention it to family and friends.
