Battle for Skyark (2015)
Absolutely terrible.
I watched this movie not expecting it to be anything special, just a bit of entertainment. Never could of I prepared myself for how horrendous this movie was. The whole time I just wanted to punch every actor in the face. It was awkward, ridiculous and cringe worthy.
Beware, you will never get the 1hr 30mins back of your life.
The concept had promise, the title suggested it would be based on earth and the Skyark, but no. it was just a bunch of kids that drew their roles as a prize out of a box of cereal running around a scrap metal yard packing their undies every time they heard a noise.
There was no time spent on the Skyark at all. Every single actor was up there with the worst I've ever seen. The movie had no story line, no purpose what so ever. I cant believe someone actually paid to produce this steaming pile of manure.
You have been warned!
Parallels (2015)
A welcomed reprieve!
I am impressed with the storyline of this movie, it was entertaining and suspenseful. It took twists and turns that I didn't expect and kept me on the edge of my seat. Although in saying that the introduction was quite typical and almost awkward at times, but as soon as the main premise for the movie kicked in I was leaning forward in my seat.
The biggest downfall is that is is not a movie length introduction to a TV series or another movie or 2. I really hope there is a sequel or a TV series spin off, it has so much potential to grow, and I believe it will be well received once it is promoted more.
I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys a good sci-fi movie with hope of more, I have never written a review, but this movie compelled me to do so. I think the storyline, filming and actors performances were above average and at times exceptional.
The film concludes with a major cliffhanger and I will be very disappointed if there is no future for the franchise. I am optimistic that it will gain a following and end up being a TV Series or a few movie sequels... We all hope.
