Spirited Away (2001)
10/10
Miyazaki at his best
8 July 2005
Here I find myself again reviewing another great Miyazaki movie. Spirted Away in my opinion is probably the second best Miyazaki movie to date with Grave of the Fireflies in first and Naussica in third. Spirted Away is a great movie for kids and adults alike. I found that it was not very scary, but some moments your kids might find more frightening then others. In this film it doesn't seem to have much of the nature mixed in with the plot, though when Chihiro meets the River Spirit he has tons of trash inside of his body, which is what Miyazaki saw in a river my his city while he was walking. It is rated PG for scary image. I give it a 9.25 out of 10.

A Miyazaki Classic
8 July 2005
Princess Monoke is a great way to show that Haruo Miyazaki is one of the greatest anime film makes of all time. Once again Princess Monoke (from now on I will refer to it as P M) P M has Miyazaki's general topic, though at first it may be hard to see it in some movies, but in most of his movies if it's not obvious at first you'll figure it out sooner or later. Anywhoo for those who don't know what the heck I'm talking about I'm mean how Miyazaki always focuses on saving nature or how people are destroying nature and forests. (See Grave of the Fire Flies to really get me) If you like a Miyazaki movie that has good action and a sort of romance this is your movie. I give it an 8.5 of 10. Parents if your kids enjoy Spirted Away or Kiki's Delivey Service be aware that this is rated PG-13 for Scary Images, Language and Graphic Violence. If they got a little bit scared during Spirted Away please watch this before you let them see this.

Fire Emblem (1995– )

A good view
27 June 2005
This Fire Emblem movie is called Fire Emblem, though it has nothing to do with either of the games. I loved the games so much I just had to see this movie. So I got it(though it's only in Japanese it had subtitles) The action scenes were good when they were good, but some were pretty corny. The plot was nice though the romance wasn't very exciting. If you are a fan of the games or just an anime nerd or both(like me) this is a good view. The length was kind of short though. If this is what they could do with a Fire Emblem that has nothing to do with the game I think the could do a great job on an anime or movie passed on the Flaming Sword or Sacred Stones.
