Mea Culpa (2024)
Wow.
I watched this as I was interested in what Tyler Perry brings to the movie world. If this is it then maybe he needs to employ writers and then get a director in that has a clue.
This could have been a really good movie, but lacks in every department.
The characters are very wooden and seem to be cast for who they are rather than acting ability.
Then again. The script is so poor and lumpy that even the best actors would struggle to make a silk purse out of this sow's ear.
Or maybe they simply acted as the terrible script desired along with the poor direction.
The outtakes might be better than the finished item.
Another Netflix fail.
Christmas at the Holly Day Inn (2023)
Terrible script
So many of these Christmas films follow the same tired formula. This is simply relocating the standard Hallmark/Reel One outside the US but hardly changing the structure and making no allowances for cultural differences.
Is this due to the strike in Hollywood?
Open the drawer and take out Script 101. "Strong but irritating/rude" female lead. Dopey male lead. Car breakdown, Misunderstanding. Standard denouement. Then all miraculously sorted out in time for love and marriage in less than a week...
Everyone works to save the Inn/Reindeer Farm/Ranch/Bakery/Whatever.
As for baking "cookies" in an English kitchen ...
Royally Ever After (2018)
Wow.
Why make movies that make the American "commoner" seem so dumb and the "English" like they have broomsticks up them?
Coffee? Yes we have it in UK.
