Grand Theft Auto V (2013)
A game for everyone, not just GTA fans
I was introduced to the GTA series when I was only 10 years old. The first GTA game that I played was San Andreas. I would play for hours and hours, day and night. With GTA V it's no different.
There are so many things to do in this game: run away from the cops, rob shops, play sports or simply ride a car while listening to the radio. The range of vehicles to choose from is enormous: from the hottest sport cars to submarines, there's nothing GTA V doesn't have.
We are introduced to not one, but THREE main characters: Franklin, Michael and Trevor. I think this is an awesome feature because you can switch to another character once you get bored with the one you were playing. Each character has a backstory and are unique in their own ways.
The one and only downside to this part of the GTA series is that the storyline is too short, with only 69 main missions. Of course, there are plenty of side missions but this doesn't compensate for the main ones.
Other than that, GTA V is a masterpiece in which you could play for hours on end and do whatever you want and not get bored.
10/10, still playing it.
Rise of the Tomb Raider (2015)
You just can't be disappointed with this
As a huge fan of the TR series, I was very thrilled and excited to play this amazing game. It gets better in every aspect: graphics, story and the amazing open world you get to play in. The storyline sticks with the traditional myths and it doesn't disappoint. This time the story was about Jesus and his army of the "undead".
The only two negative aspects of it that the puzzles were a bit too hard at times and that we didn't get to fight an epic ancient monster and fight Trinity instead. Would've been cool if we got a monster though.
Anyway, this sequel doesn't fail to deliver Tomb raider in all it's glory.
The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones (2013)
Could've been better
This felt like a tried and true formula of almost every YA fantasy: main character living in the normal world and his/her initiation into the "actual" world, messed up love triangle (not to mention the ever so disappointing incest), the bad guys chasing the good guys to retrieve a powerful item etc.
I must admit even though I have seen this type of movie over and over, they actually got me in the first half. It's a cliche but a good one if you do it right.
The second half got me very very disappointed because it was just mindless action almost to the finish.
And I feel like I should address the "what could've been a cute YA romance turned awkward incest" situation. I was just disappointed with it because of the obvious reasons. Incest only works in game of thrones and this just felt awkward.
It's like the writers were trying to have a different take at a forbidden romance and just squeezed the incest. Spoiler alert: they just made it disgusting.
Aside from the above mentioned issues, this could've been a good fantasy movie.
Emphasis on the "could have" part.
It had good visuals and half of the story was good. So, I'm giving this a 6.
Good Omens (2019)
He should stick to writing books, not scripts
I couldn't get past the first fifteen minutes, the dialogue felt stiff and very boring. Some scenes just seemed to be dragged out for no reason. And the overall feeling was that this show was just trying to hard to be funny and failing miserably.
Neil Gaiman might be a good author but definitely not a good script writer. This opinion is based on his older tv show "American Gods".
Some dialogues might work in books but will seem awkward and stiff in a movie or a tv show. Just simple as that.
A Star Is Born (2018)
Just listen to the songs on Youtube
I gave it a solid four because of the good music. The rest of the movie was pretty damn boring.
