A brilliant film!
12 September 2021
This film is most definitely in my top 5 films ever and I completely understand why some reviewers just don't get it. You don't need to "get it" you just have to be an openminded creative able to soak up a strange story which is not only beautiful, tragic, funny and frightening all at the same time, and that's a difficult artistic vision to bring to life. Like a perfect dream. And while there is never any logic in a dream, this film is FULL of brilliant intelligence, bringing the dream to story form for your mind to wander in. So if you like the creative directors, artists and the art of surreal filmmaking that doesn't rest its "success" on a superhero and a bag of predictable plotlines that don't require your brain... you may like this one. Just the references alone to Joseph Beuys and you know you're in a different place with this film, and that love for understanding the weirdly beautiful is evident in all forms of this piece, from the characters to the "special effects" (especially if you watch the director's earlier film on the DVD special features! Evolution of creativity right in front of your eyes) and the color and composition are absolutely painterly executed.

Truly an artist made film, and most likely will be rejected by many of the masses, as all good things are before they are accepted for their mastery in hindsight. For creativity watch this film and enjoy it just for the experience. It is only the "worst film ever" to people who don't know that there is another side of the film world which creates ART, not TV dinner material, and misconstrue that they should be appreciated differently for different reasons, one to escape thinking, another to enlighten it. This is for those who want to escape to a smarter place in someone else's beautifully twisted and poetic vision. A poem on film, and you don't criticize a poem because "raven's can't speak, stupid!"
