Five Nights at Freddy's (2023)

FINALLY a non sexual horror film.

My kids have been begging to watch their first horror film and I haven't been able to allow it cause they're all awkwardly sexual. Finally a film that has a story line that makes sense, and isn't full of innapropriate romance scenes.

The story line itself is pretty good, and the jump scares are enough to keep you on the edge of your seat. The acting is on parr and i think they just did a really good job. My kids who love the fnaf game said there were so many good nods to the games, and were excited to watch it. All in all, a pretty good movie and a good movie for your first horror film if you're a kid.

The Road to El Dorado (2000)

This movie was made back when I was a kid and is absolutely brilliant. I do not know how it doesn't have 10 stars and how it's not much more popular. Representing the heritage of my family in the funnest magical way. The characters are hilarious and sarcastic and the whole story is magical. The colors and the artwork is absolutely amazing. And the abilities of the artists is just flawless. The story is absolutely great and well thought out and my kids absolutely love it. Check is stunning and one of the most beautiful leading ladies, and I love the horse. And the choice of choosing between one's own greed and what is right it's really awesome.

The Scorpion King (2002)

Is it accurate to history? No. Would a sorceress be in a tent with a smoke machine? No. Do we care? NO! This movie is fun to watch and the cast is amazing! They have amazing acting and a fun story line. This movie was made when people liked movies for fun and not to be accurate to a T. Plus you get to see a long hair dwayne the rock johnson in all his splendor. And don't forget the teddy bear that was michael clark duncan. Good movie for sure. One where you cannot wait to show it to your kids along with the mummy movies as a coming of age roght of passage when they're 13 or so. Idk i adored this movie as a kid. Idk why it gets less than 8 stars. It's a 10 form me.

I was worried after reading a lot of reviews, but after watching it myself, idk why so many were so low. This movie was absolutely brilliant and we need more like it! I cannot vouch for every moment of the movie being accurate, but it was very accurate where it counted, and was able to show honor to the Tuskegee Airmen without adding too much over flowery drama, while showing enough to remind you that these men were human. Absolutely brilliant! WW2 was what a lot of my history degree focused on, and I adored this movie. It also showed the issues over race, but in a tasteful appropriate way. Showing they were the better men when conflict arose. Definitely a must see if you love history done right.

Major Payne (1995)

I absolutely love this movie. We are from a military family so all of the jokes makes sense, but I just love the fact that they can actually joke without people being rude or offended about it. And it one point he even apologizes for possibly being offensive to somebody who's actually handicap. But it even though it's a dramatized version, it still shows the difficulty for veterans trying to go into civilian life and I love it. The acting is absolutely amazing and the cast is so fun. I wash the wayans would make even more movies and bring back humor with them. I actually used the closet idea with my little one and a water gun. I went in and slammed the door pretending I made gun shots and "killed" the monster in her closet. Worked brilliantly. Haha.

Peter Pan & Wendy (2023)

They have remade peter pan how many times odin how many years? This one stuck somewhat to the story. Tiger Lily was beautiful but her tribe was MIA. Tinker Bell was adorable but forced to be silent for most of the movie and didn't have her sass that made us love her. They ignored the books line of "girls are too smart to get lost" which was a tad irritating. Hook was very well played but Shmee, tho played by a huge comedian was also mostly silent. I loved the pirate who was obsessed with Michaels bear! But even John and Michael were an after thought. The movie seemed far too rushed and missed something. It didn't have that "wow I must watch this again and again" Maybe they could have saved it with Rufio.

My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic (2010–2020)

This show is absolutely perfect when it comes to children's shows that don't have anything inappropriate, but are also pleasant for parents to have to sit through. It is not pushing any sort of political agenda, it is just friendship and goodness and kindness, and really fun. There are no characters that you dislike, and the entire show just encourages everyone to be better. Also, the nerdy references make me really happy like the Doctor Who pony, and a very obvious nod to Star Trek with discord being Q, but this is definitely our comfort show whenever we are sick we watch this, whenever kids are having bad dreams, we turn on the show in the background to help them fall back to sleep. This is one of the funnest and most well-made shows that I've seen all the time sadly, the new one called the new generation doesn't even match up we need more of twilight and her friends.

My Little Pony: A New Generation (2021)

James Marsden and Ken Jeong

They took something amazing and trashed it. James Marsden and Ken Jeong are literally the only reason to watch this show. I was very excited when they made a new one, because the most previously made one was actually absolutely flawless for my little pony cartoon, but this one involved ponies obsessed with fighting, repressing each other, silencing each other, and being on their phones, and though the idea was to escape all of that, it never actually went away and was really weird. It was a completely different world which I understand was meant to be a different time, but it pales in comparison to its predecessor it had a few fun references, but nowhere near as amazing as the previous show. And I was really excited to see the cast, but , it just seems like it's trying way too hard to push some sort of political agenda at the same time. This is the first cartoon that I've actually seen a character obsessed with screens which made my daughter want to have a fun and have more screen not something I liked.

Yes Day (2021)

This movie gets a lot of bad reviews, but I cannot stress how much my family loves it. They love the idea of a yes day, and they love the idea of a yes day for themselves. Which is super fun and cute. My family is a biracial family so my kids love seeing a family like theirs. We love kablowy and wish people would get into playing! I love the concept of kids who are spoiled understanding that their parents do things because they live them and help them to see a new perspective rather than being resentful. It also helps parents see a new perspective and helps kids learn that hey parents are people too.

The Borrowers (1997)

Growing up this one one of my absolute favorite movies!!!!!!!. As kids we would even play borrowers and pretend we were tiny. My family still calls the double bun hairstyle Arietty buns. The cast is fabulous and Pea Green is beyond adorable. There are so many good memories with this film. Also seeing dr house with his proper accent makes me so happy. The actors and actresses are amazing it's like a movie full of easter eggs. And it also. Addresses how kids don't always understand how capable and amazing their parents are. It's just the cutest movie i love it so much. This is such an imaginative movie with so many fun moments.

DC League of Super-Pets (2022)

Super pets is beyond cute. The character development is beyond adorable and actually makes sense, the actors and actresses they chose for the voices and different characters is just beyond adorable and almost like easter eggs in their own way. And the movie is really moving even my toddler cried at one point when somebody treated the dog in justly. It is so exciting, and they break the fourth wall all the time in funny references, they even reference marvel a few times and they reference things from the different comic books that little characters came from it's beyond cute. It made me very happy and I was the adult lol it's definitely something that you can watch with your kids and not get annoyed by, and I would even say watch many times in a row and not get annoyed by it's such a well put together cartoon.

My kids love all things zombie And the show is just perfect. It is fun enough to not cause nightmares, but it is spooky enough to make my little spooky babies very happy. The three-year-old always asks to watch zombies lol and as an adult I enjoyed myself. I wish they came out with more seasons faster!

This movie is better than the first one which is very unusual to say about any sequels. It is super cute and engagement even for adults too. My kids absolutely love it and I love watching it with them. They're actually more frustrated with how much I want to watch it with them LOL very well written very cute and has a lot of learning values and I like it.

I related with this movie sooooo much. Perfect and appropriate coming of age. Nailed it on the teenage girl. Omgoodness this was soooo me and my mum. ASuper cute movie about autonomy and healing trauma and being yourself. I looooooooved this movie and so do my kids. It helped my daughter understand she is loved for who she is and not who people think she should be. It's perfect.

Why do they have to specialize everything and everyone. Can't they make a movie without making characters you admire having sex? I understand they were real people, and yeah obviously they did things but it wasn't in public, which means it should remain private. I mean yeeesh.

The Wheel of Time (2021– )

If you've read the books, run away fast. It's trash.

First I will start with how much they took liberties with. They completely IGNORED how the characters were described to look. Robert Jordan wrote with extreme detail, a tad less than Tolkien, but enough that you could easily make a series that lasted ages without need for liberties because his genius was perfect and good enough. Yet they invented things that just weren't there. The women's circle initiation, story lines that don't exist at all. They took beloved characters, gave the roles to B actors/actresses, and made story arcs that make no sense. They even show them acting against the characters written natures. It looks like they took something amazing and tried to make it fit the times instead of following the authors amazing books. It's absolute trash. I have been listening to these books on audio since I was a child, it's a very precious story to me, and they just disrespected it completely. Adopting the story line because it is amazing, but then making it completely their own, destroying RJ's vision. Serious let down. Hope they're already working on a remake.

The Suicide Squad (2021)

This movie is incredibly graphic in just the first couple of minutes. Do not watch this while eating. I normally ok with violence, and call me a pansy but this made me nauseous before we got that far in. Amazing acting! The weasel is very.... awkward. Bad animation. Harley and Idris Elba are a saving grace. The movie has AMAZING actors. I just wish I knew what they were doin... other than trying to put me off my lunch. I know they meant it to be funny, but I would like to know why every movie lately has to have a strip scene. Not what I expected. I wanted comic book amazing. Not just another movie that's violent and sexual but doesn't even look like a DC story. (I admit, I'm not as deep in the comics as I would like but yeah...)

This is one of the most beautiful love stories I have ever seen. Don't watch it alone, as the emotional roller coaster might make you sob like a baby, but it's worth every moment with twists and turns even I couldn't see coming. It was absolutely stunning. Simply beautiful, and knowing Robin Williams and his loss, then seeing this adds layers to his story and makes you hope someone went the lengths for him too.

Maya and the Three (2021)

I love how they followed a Mayan/Aztec story line. Every character is cute, and so much fun. However the purist in me, and my degree in history argues that none of these native peoples would speak spanish at this point in time. That being said, as a more modern marriage of past and present, I love it.
