The Rhythm Section (2020)
Confusing choices...starts out good, then just becomes weird
The movie starts off decent - like a movie youd want to see. But then weird things start happening that would never happen in real life. The plot is something youd see in a comic book or cartoon show - not real life. The unrealistic decisions by the characters really start to bother you and it takes you out of the movie. Maybe the director was a bit too ambitious. You can tell what movie he is trying to make, but he doesnt have near the budget or time to make it.
Camerawork is awful. Another movie filmed by Michael J Fox....that guy is everywhere nowadays. The acting is good, which sucks, because the movie had potential. Explain a few more of the unrealistic motives - give them good reason to do what they do and take more time in showing events that take place over time, such as her training, which is a laughable 5 minute montage.
You might enjoy this if you pretend your watching a comic book or fantasy type movie, but you wont understand the choices that went into shooting the movie as realistic as possible. A lot of you may even turn it off.
Had potential. Fell way short. Acting and script are decent...its really just the directing choices that are way, way off.
Parts Per Billion (2014)
Could have been great, but falls short
This is one of those movies that makes you angry... because its so close to being great, if they had just put a bit more time into it. It has heavy themes about how we choose to spend our time and how we treat others and how it affects everything around us. Its very subtle in how the characters are linked, the backstory, and themes. I wish they would remake it because the premise is great, but theres just something about the movie that doesnt quite hit the spot.
Crypto (2019)
Main protagonist is really, really unlikable...
I'm not sure if the actor is just a douche, or if the char was written that way, but he comes off as a douche, and we are supposed to be rooting for him? Perhaps just bad casting, but he is really unlikable. This movie had potential if they would have not just used what looks to be a first draft of the script...
Wild Card (2015)
Was the script written by a 12 year old?
I thought this movie was just very odd overall. Very weak motives and resolutions. The first thing I thought was..did someone make a bet to try and pass off a 12 year old's script as an actual movie? Acting was average, directing was okay, but the script was extremely weak.
I'd give this one a pass unless you're a die hard Jason Statham fan. It just reminded me of something cheesy I might had written in grade school or something. Don't waste your time.
The Belko Experiment (2016)
Very predictable and mildly entertaining
Go watch the trailer. Then extrapolate what you think this movie will be like, and how it will end. There, you've seen it. I've saved you from having to watch the full movie.
The movie is very predictable right to the end. I thought it could have been a lot better, especially the 2nd half - maybe they throw in a surprise, or vary it in some way - but, sadly, no.
Just another mindless movie that the average mediocre person will enjoy, but true movie buffs will find predictable and lacking.
