Wrath of Man (2021)
You've got to be kidding me!
I have seen just as many bad movies as the rest of us. This has to be a Guy Ritchie April fools joke. There is no, zero, trace of anything Guy Ritchie in this horrible movie. The dialogue was written by a producer's nephew, the acting is soooo bad that you can't believe the director is even on set.
While there are a few decent action scenes, they are few and far between in this long-running dog.
Not that Statham is a great actor but he must have had the paycheck he received in his mind during the filming of this.
Just think of every badly-acted C movie you have watched, imagine some people get shot and you have just saved almost three hours of your life you could have spent cleaning the bathroom or just sitting in a vegetative state.
The Wrestlers: Land of a Thousand Dances (1985)
Hoots!
Even if you are not a fan of wrestling, you can laugh along with this one. They are all having a blast and you feel it in this vid.
Borat Subsequent Moviefilm: Delivery of Prodigious Bribe to American Regime for Make Benefit Once Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan (2020)
Funny not!
There is nothing that produces even a chuckle. I only got through 45 minutes of this limp duck. The scenes are dragged out way too long and their premise is unimaginative. The fax 'sup' gag borders on torture. The monkey bit, really? I think the monkey is the only one laughing because it got out of the movie early.
This whole movie should have been a 5 minute skit on SNL, which is equally unfunny.
This seems to be only a vehicle for Cohen to wear disguises and boor people with no wit.
Maybe it got funny after 45 minutes but I won't be back to find out.
I gave it a two just for getting the movie produced in times of covid.
Raised by Wolves (2020)
Below Average trash storyline
I can only imagine the people who give this disaster a nine or ten have not seen much sci-fi or maybe it is the 'intrigue' of the religion vs atheists angle that pumps them up.
It feels like maybe they had an inkling of an idea and then, due to the pandemic or budget threats, they decided to just go ahead with what they had and hope for the best.
What do they eat...No, really, what do they eat for twelve years?!
Never once did they try moving to the equator? Only after five of the six kids die does father decide to go to the ship on some flimsy rope. Really poorly written and conceptualized. Ridley should have had his name removed from this but HBO Max, which nobody has, probably required it before they cut the check.
You want sci-fi? Watch the Expanse. Pure sci-fi for comparison.
The Extraordinary Journey of the Fakir (2018)
Spoiler Alert : Movies are different than the original books
Most of the lesser reviews here dissect the fact that it is nothing like the original French book or it is not a movie about India. Is the movie intended to be? No.
It is a slice of life adventure of a man from India and his extraordinary journey. Just like the title says.
This is a movie to just sit back, relax and absorb it's feel-good vibe while not knowing what might come around the next corner.
You will finish the movie with a smile and recommend it to anyone you know possessing an open mind and a nice outlook on life.
"We hate beer." LOL Perfect editing/timing!
Shin'ya shokudô: Tokyo Stories (2016)
What more can be said...
Beautiful heart-warming vignettes that leave you feeling good and wanting more. I lived in Tokyo for two years and this brings tears to my eyes.
Every episode shows you a dish and how to make it.
The nice touch of having the dining guests tell you how to make it and then give you a good night is nothing but class.
I wish the 2009 series was available. Same cast, especially Mastah!
Penny Dreadful: City of Angels (2020)
Has me squirming in my chair
This show should not include the words 'penny dreadful' in the title. Even though it is done by the original creator, it has nothing to do with the original series. Nothing. At all.
Sorry, the German doctor was in the original show.
Very poor casting, acting and writing. One has to wonder how many takes were needed for the beach scene and the horrible German accents.
This is daytime tv with the hint of something macabre around the corner. Well, the audience deserves something more after two shows of what, ten in the series?
I read articles before the series aired that it was going to be very different but, at least it must be entertaining.
I think, like another reviewer stated, that series creator John Logan was working on a series but HBO decided to attach the words penny dreadful to the series to attract attention because it looked like this series would not be a hit.
The cast. Natalie Dormer, Brent Spiner, Nathan Lane etc cannot carry their roles here. Not one actor in the show provides any gravitas to cement this disaster of a show. Although, Daniel Zovatto is good, not as a detective in the 1930's.
I was so let down after watching the second episode that I went back and watched the first show of the original just to erase the bad taste I received from this certainly dreadful failure.
