The Whole Truth (2016)
Poorly written, poorly acted, unnecessarily drawn out, BORING
I figured this one out within the first 30 minutes, and got confirmation a little later in the film. The twists were fully expected. Characterization was sorely lacking, as was the rest of the script.
One day, I'm hoping Keano takes some acting lessons. This was a good movie for him, though, because the rest of the cast acted so poorly, that he was slightly better than they were. The judge was particularly stiff and unbelievable.
In all, this was an hour and a half of my life which is gone forever.
Displacement (2016)
Yech...such drivel...
I'm a hard core SF fan. I'm a physics buff. This film was such a bad take on quantum theory that I had to ditch it before the end, in order to keep my dinner down.
Setting aside the "science" in "Science Fiction," there really isn't anything new here. post-grad girl's dad steals her thesis notes... Really? The boyfriend is truly a waste of a character (could have been a cardboard cutout), another guy (best friend? boyfriend's friend?) is another waste. Bruce Davison is utterly unbelievable (not is best work by far), and Courtney Hope seems unable to utilize any emotion other than anger, hostility, or panic.
All in all, skip it. You have better things to do with your life than give up nearly two hours of it to this nonsense.
