Etheria (2020– )

Very surprisingly different.

Like every short story and anthology collection, be it in a published book, tv series, or done as a shocky over budgeted movie, this series (created by female writers and directors) sadly has some cringeworthy bad episodes that I refuse to name for not insulting the people that make them, yet there are truly gems that stick in memory. This yearly series of collections is mixed. Overall the gems outnumber. Loved C U Later Tuesday on the Fifth Season it was laughable and a half. A lot of effort was put into the making of each episode and it does show. If one turns you off, the next one will be better.

So bad it has no entertainment value.

Warning: Spoilers
Awful - awful - awful.

I thought it might be somewhat good (at least a four out of ten). Boy, was I ever wrong in my thinking. Acting is really very stiff and quite wooden and the 'zombies' are not done up in anything but completely black outfits with glowing red eyes, and everything about any sort of plot or subplot really sucks big time because it's that bad.

Why was this piece of crap made in the first place? Had to had been a tax write-off for somebody. Soon to be shown at an awful film festival that specializes in really terrible films that were made to actually be terrible or stuck soon in a selection of crappy movies on DVD in a cheap budget bin at some big box store near you. Don't waste your money on this.

You'll Chuckle More Than One Laugh...

Recently stumbled across this comedic gem. Bit outdated, but glad so had seen. A real cult-classic and I can now see why.

Thrown into a make or break situation, the story's resulting make saves the day. Not knowing what to expect, the audience gets treated to something they'll never truly forget.

Should be picked up by anyone with a good sense of humour and though the movie is really hard to find it's well worth the searching. Yes, the humour is considered childish yet works within the film within this funny film.

Think Mystery Science Theater 3000 and you'll get the idea. Hercules talking to Zeus has got to be so stupid it's dumb! But that's the point of the movie and this has now become one of my favourites in the Comedy section.

Releasing it remastered and as Region 0 would be great (hint-hint).

Not Exactly a Disaster...
21 December 2014
Warning: Spoilers
Any storyline will have critics. They forget that this is firstly one person's thoughts and we are there for merely the ride. Like it or not.

I admit that a fair bit of movies having seen in the past number of years that I didn't enjoy. The over saturation of too many of the same nonsense (vampire/torture porn), or so bad in general that it was more of a comedy then what it was intended as. Pretty bad is not liking it ten minutes into the film but still watching until the ending reveals itself finally...

A lot better than many on themes in SF this like. Believable and quite a decent movie. No Space Vampires.

A world divided into 5 factions? This is 'not' ridiculous.

Rollerball with James Cain for example. What about Hunger Games? In the real world? China?

Tusk (I) (2014)

Truly awful and very, very stupid.

Warning: Spoilers
I thought this was to be a bit different, but different cannot really describe this waste of Hollywood resources and funding. Trying to be a comedy/horror is exactly not what this turned out to be. More horrible than horror. It also makes Canadians appear to be complete morons (especially French Canadians). Even Depp couldn't save this poor excuse of a film.

The only reason I gave two stars was the costume/makeup was along the same lines as The Human Centipede (which this seemed to be kinda ripped-off from) and the using of Fleetwood Mac's song Tusk as part of the soundtrack. Sure glad the producers no doubt had tried to obtain the rights of using the Beatles' I Am The Walrus but couldn't get that for this terrible excuse of poorly done entertainment.

Too bad I can't get my money back or the time I wasted in viewing. Hell, if I even got back the ticket price compared to what Depp was paid for this I'd be truly happy.

Kevin Smith shot his wad and it didn't work. Just goes to show somebody is willing to fund awful movies and think the public will cream their pants in thinking the same way they do. Pathetic.
