Indian Police Force: An Unfortunate Departure from Reality
24 January 2024
Warning: Spoilers
I recently completed watching "Indian Police Force," the latest offering from filmmaker Rohit Shetty, and I must say, it's a disappointing departure from the standards set by contemporary web series. While Shetty is known for his high-octane and often over-the-top action sequences, this particular venture falls short due to its illogical storyline and lack of attention to detail.

One glaring inconsistency in the narrative involves a character mentioning a Goa to Darbhanga bus service. The geographical disparity between these locations, spanning over 2200 kilometers, raises questions about the authenticity of the storyline. Similarly, an Amareen Airline plane inexplicably transforms into AI 237 in the final episode, leaving the audience bewildered.

Another questionable plotline revolves around the Maitree Express, connecting Kolkata and Dhaka. In the series, the journey is portrayed as an 8-hour affair, while in reality, it takes approximately 8 hours and 50 minutes. Additionally, the show inaccurately depicts the train's departure time, claiming it begins its journey at 1 am from Kolkata, whereas it actually departs at 7:15 am. Such factual inaccuracies detract from the overall viewing experience, especially in an era where meticulous research and attention to detail are expected from creators.

In a time when web series are lauded for their thorough research and realistic portrayal of events, "Indian Police Force" falls short. The lack of coherence and adherence to reality compromises the narrative integrity, making it difficult for viewers to fully immerse themselves in the storyline. While the action sequences may satisfy fans of Rohit Shetty's signature style, the overall product fails to live up to the standards set by its contemporaries. I would give it a modest 5 out of 10, reflecting the significant room for improvement in terms of storytelling and attention to detail.

Ramyug (2021– )

6 Stars only for attempt to make this...

Say very low rating here. I admit that it is not at par with Ramayan. But we Indians have mindset to compare the contents with its previous versions. Be it Ramayan, Mahabharata or movie like Big Bull. This will surely demotivate makers to create something with such a great topics like Mahabharata and Ramayana. Ramyug is definitely not that good but still it is one time watchable.

Probably first of its kind attempt in Indian Cinema

Warning: Spoilers
There is a lots of negativity regarding this series on various sources. But follow a simple rule 'Lesser the expectations lesser the disappointment. I would like to say that this series deserves views as probably it is the first of its kind attempt in Indian Cinema. Very low budget project with very limited resources but I feel all of these used very efficiently. Five main characters and mostly four to five supporting characters. Story of a plane crash and there is no scene of actual crash. But you will not miss the scene for sure. Ashoka sequence is useless or It could have done in much much better way. A scene where Piyush Mishra escapes and drives a latest car (with latest technology like power steering etc.) swiftly which I guess not at all possible for a man who has just time travelled to 2019 from 1984. The conclusion is you will definitely feel something different In Indian Cinema) if not unique for sure.
