Licorice Pizza (2021)
A solid little movie, but a big distraction
Why, why, why did they have Alana Haim play a character who is fawned over by all the men in this movie? Seriously, all these men see her as the best looking, most charming girl I'm the world, when she is absolutely neither good looking or attractive. Classic Hollywood nepotism. It's a huge distraction. Other than that the movie is good with a comfy vibe and a fantastic soundtrack. Cooper Hoffman is great in it.
The Suicide Squad (2021)
Disappointing to say the leaat
Have no idea why people were praising this so much. It's too long, barely any laughs, too many characters, barely any villain, and once again Margot Robbie sucks as Harley Quinn.
Space Jam: A New Legacy (2021)
Not Bad must say
While the jokes don't land very often and there's way too much product placement (especially for brands that endorse LeBron), I can't deny that this movie is really entertaining. The fun novelty of it all just lends itself to a easy watch.
BattleBots (2015)
Fantastic Entertainment
The best professional sport out there. Seeing the evolution of the technology and strategy is so exciting and the participants are fun and easy to root for. Much more relatable than the uppity football/basketball players out there. Love it 😍😍
Freddy Got Fingered (2001)
Ahead of the times
This movie was poorly received at its release because it was ahead of the curve. The strange surrealist comedy it has became huge years later with shows like Tim and Eric and Eric Andre. It also perfectly satires the gross out and "dumb comedy" movies of the early 00s, late 90s. Absolutely hilarious and whether you like it or not, it sticks with you and won't forget it.
Fargo: Happy (2020)
I'm glad it's almost over
Thank God this is almost done. I can't stand any of these characters, just please move on and forget this ever happened. I loved this show so much before season 4. Also, oh my goodness gracious enough with the racism monologuing, WE GET IT. How about you actually flesh out these characters and make a compelling storyline instead hmm?
Borat Subsequent Moviefilm: Delivery of Prodigious Bribe to American Regime for Make Benefit Once Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan (2020)
Tries to hard, too much scripted scenes
The movie doesn't have the great in the moment scenes that the first one had. Giving these ordinary people lines to read to advance the plot fall on it's face. Also frames entire scenes around trying to get "gotcha" moments from people that don't go anywhere or have a funny punchline. The daughter character is well acted and funny, but the movie definitely has an agenda behind it. The final 10 minutes are straight propaganda. The jokes about how backwards Kazakhstan is are hilarious, but the jabs at Americans are lazy and tired.
The Boys: What I Know (2020)
Wasted Potential
This whole season was a wash. Anything interesting gets dashed away soon after and nothing really goes on the whole time. Interesting characters like Stormfront and Lamplighter are killed so we're stuck with all these boring, stupid people. Butcher is in the same place as he gave away his step son, The Deep didn't make it back into the 7, the Collective Church is a non-facor since the head of it is dead now, and Maeve/Starlight still both hate homelander, yet are still in the 7. Butcher, The Deep, and Homelander are the only thing worth watching in this show. What a big step down from season one. A big waste of time and obviously padding since they wanna keep this running for a while since it make money
Fargo: Welcome to the Alternate Economy (2020)
Great base to build on
Not too much happens in this, but this episode gives a history to this era of Fargo not seen before in this series. The characters are interesting so far and I'm excited to see where it goes. Especially Orietta Mayflower.
Tenet (2020)
Wasted Opportunity
An interesting concept, flushed down the drain and smothered with exposition. I swear, 50% of this movie is people explaining things at such high speeds of talking. I found myself going cross-eyed trying to keep up and just didn't care what was going on. Washington's Protagonist character is boring, uninteresting, and falls flat on his face with the forced comedic lines (no one laughed once in my theater). Every other character is either forgettable or purely there to give exposition. It is technically impressive with great visuals, action choreography and planning, as all Nolan movies are. It's time for Nolan to try something new and get away from exposition heavy, high concept movies. Dunkirk was a good step in the right direction, but Tenet falls back. Also ONCE AGAIN has the Nolan trope of something in the beginning of the movie is actually from the end of the movie. Give us something new, not just tired ideas.
Mr. Robot: 404 Not Found (2019)
Lousy Episode
Nothing happens at all, a disappointing conclusion. Tries to be pine Barrens, but fails. Totally a filler episode
Beef House (2020)
Bring the Beef
An absolute blast to watch. Lots of fun, lots of laffs. Where's the beef? HERE'S the Beef!
Legion (2017)
A real trip
Truly unlike anything else on television. It's the type of stuff Disney run Marvel programming would NEVER make. This is the genius that is Noah Hawley
