Si-e-nui sa-rang (2017)
A different subject
A comedy with a dramatic end. The film makers who dare to try unconventional subjects. Well performance by the leading actress.
The Grand Budapest Hotel (2014)
A masterpiece with no expiration date
It is hard to find any flaws or weaknesses in this well thought and well done movie even after multiple times of watching.
Bad Times at the El Royale (2018)
A classic thesaterical
A classic thesaterical that I missed for a while. Awesome opening and ending with professional intervention of the story. A well done casting and character development. However, some parts of the story could have done better.
Urideul (2016)
Indeed a brilliant film
Well done in working with kids and amateur actors. Conveying the subtle senses an feeling throughout a simple line of story. A successful attempt in reflecting the realism of a middle-class family.
Deokhyeongju (2016)
It is not just about the technique
While the movie maker put lots of efforts in the form, it lacks identity. Despite the story happens during a time period of westernization in the East Asian, another westernization in the director's view can be seen in the movie. The movie makers tried hard to make a Hollywood movie perhaps based on some specific models in mind. However, the result is neither close to any good Hollywood examples nor a film to shine independently. Except, very beginning of the movie, you won't feel that you are watching a Korean movie.
Some of the characters (e.g. the leading actor) were not well written in the screenplay. Moreover, some of the action scenes were too exaggerated and over act.
Besides all the leading actress did an excellent job especially playing the elderly parts.
Liteul poleseuteu (2018)
A movie full of life, light, and beautiful energies
This movie is full of love of life and it's simple but beautiful gifts. Good and though times with the Mother Nature are depicted in parallel with beautiful moments between three good friends.
We wouldn't witness all of these simple beauties of life if the movie maker herself was not in love with colors, light, and foods. Every frame of this movie indicates a well thought and crafted scene by a gifted person.
Here the story is flowing in the background without any harm to strength of the movie. There is a positive energy in every elements of this movie and its cast that naturally transmits to the audience and you unconditionally feel good after watching it. Indeed a valuable work and a great movie.
Ojik geudaeman (2011)
A bollywood movie made in Korea
Good effort from both cast an crews. Nice acting by the leading actress. However, the screenplay does have some significant weaknesses even if it was intended for less serious audiences.
