Sex Education: Episode 7 (2021)
Revolution!
This was a pretty well paced and well written episode which provided closures and climaxes to the event that were being built up in the previous episodes. The students showing their protest against Hope, Michael finally confronting his feelings and admitting them to the right people, Otis and Maeve, Lily's storyline, etc. Were all extremely satisfying. The music this season is also amazing, keeping up with the trend. Let's see how things turn out in the finale.
Sex Education: Episode 1 (2021)
What an awesome return!
There was a lot of hype for the new season after a successful first two seasons and frankly some worry that it may not be able to keep up the same quality but the first episode looks very promising. Some new characters and dynamics have been introduced and existing ones have further been developed or sent on a new track. The dialogue and chemistry is the same as ever. Looking forward to the rest of the season.
Avengers: Endgame (2019)
Incredibly and Unexpectedly awesome, just streched the ending a bit.
When I went to the cinema, I wasn't hoping that this would be a great movie. The preceding Marvel movies hadn't been able to impress me that much. But this was way better that them. This was a result of really good writing and a lot of brilliant ideas for the narrative to move forward. The way that the story proceeded was out of the ballpark of the things I can predict. It was a bit different than the previous movies.
Comedy was inserted aptly, both time wise and amount wise. The soundtrack was amazing as usual. Direction, CGI and cinematography was also pretty commendable. The action scenes, especially the final battle was extremely well executed. Dialogue could been better and could have been more. The ending didn't feel that gripping and I felt that they could have ended it sooner.
Sherlock: The Lying Detective (2017)
A great episode
Most of the people were pretty much disappointed by last week's episode and were convinced that 2nd season was the last good season of the show. No promise of goodness was shown in the last episode and it presented itself as wastage of time as they only have 3 episodes per season. But after this episode, it seems that the previous episode was just a clever move to tease the audience as the writers knew that they'd be able to more than make up for it. This epitomizes the Sherlock we all love and wait for. CGI was incredible: the slow motion shots were well placed to represent the scenario appropriately. It was fun to see Sherlock as Quicksilver(I have a feeling that John Smith was somewhere involved in all this). Really, a fabulous use of technology. The acting also was unparalleled. Everybody expects a few deductions here and there, but this episode showed the emotional connect between John and Sherlock. Toby Jones did a good job being despicable. Desperately waiting for the last episode, more because of its name.
The Shawshank Redemption (1994)
A movie made in a universal language
This is one of the best movies I've ever watched and it can soothe anyone, relax them to not lose their hope no matter how bad the situation is because it is the best of things. It can move you and can even change you from within bringing to you the thought that not everything in the world needs a reason to be done. Although the main value or 'thing' that this movie promotes is hope, it has lots and lots of other things hidden inside it like humanity, sympathy, addiction and 'institutionalization'. It can be viewed by every other individual in his/her own perspective and be be appreciated in numerous ways. One can always find a new way to cherish it after every view. The acting by everyone is just beyond description. You may forget for a moment that they are actors. Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman's performance just phenomenal and completely sucked us in like they were our close ones. In the end, I just want to say that this is a masterpiece and I doubt whether another like this will be created in a long time to come. In my opinion, filmmakers should go back to the origin of Art which is for pleasure and relaxation of mind and soul and stop wasting money on high-budget action flicks which are worthless(I am not saying all) and make films like this one which are a delight to watch and a lot to learn from.
