Made in Abyss (2017)
An absolutely fantastic anime with solid world-building, likable characters, and a gorgeous art style
An absolutely fantastic anime with solid world-building, likable characters, and a gorgeous art style. The first episode immediately pulls you into the show and introduces you to the cast of characters and the beautiful world, and from there on it hooks the viewer with its fantastic lore and world-building, something which many shows are unable to do effectively. I'm telling you, go watch this anime right now; it's a unique gem that you absolutely will not regret watching.
PROS: + Absolutely fantastic art style and music + Great lore building + Characters are all likable and have interesting backstories + Manages to be both cute and serious
CONS: - Some minor pacing issues in the beginning but nothing serious
OVERALL: 10/10
Tsuki ga kirei (2017)
A cute, adorable romance about middle school love
A very cute, sweet, and innocent romance anime about two middle school students who fall in love and develop their character along the way. The show is overall very enjoyable to watch and has many heartwarming and adorable scenes throughout. It's interesting to see the two main characters discovering romance for the first time, and eventually maturing and learning from their experiences at middle school. That being said, there are only some very minor issues setting the anime back, such as some cringey and awkward moments, but overall the positives far outweigh the negatives. If you're a fan of romance, go watch this right now, you won't be disappointed.
PROS: + Outrageously adorable and cute romance + Viewers can relate to the realism of the characters and situations + Great musical score + Satisfying ending with proper closure
CONS: - Some bad CGI animations - Some cringey and awkward scenes between the two MCs, but this eventually goes away halfway through the show - The anime is a bit too serious in my opinion and could use more humor/comic relief
