Oasis Knebworth 1996 (2021)
ITS BIBLICAL!
I sat, along with thirty other people, in theaters last night singing and enjoying the amazing tunes of Oasis' Knebworth 1996 performance. How is that this music/concert event still resonates after 25 years? Answer, it's biblical!
Game of Thrones: The Bells (2019)
Keep calm and carry on
Without a doubt this season has been disappointing. Forced character arcs, geographical issues, and poor dialogue... just to name a few. Why D&D thought episode three should be the one to finish off the Night King is beyond me. For purposes of storytelling it would have made much more sense to have this episode (the bells) to be maybe episode three or four have the conflict between Snow and Daenerys play out in episode five and have the final episode be against the dead. Whether or not we want to accept it, the dead have been the most crucial antagonist of this 'glimpse' of the world of Westeros. The story currently being portrayed is merely a revolution in a long spun tire. Similar to Roberts Rebellion, or the Targaryen dynasty, whether Snow or Daenerys end up on the throne will be another page in the history books. The dead were the greatest twist to this story. Since D&D went in a different direction we must throw away all hope and excitement for the ending we might have wanted or expected... Believe me I'm as frustrated as the next person, but we have to take this episode for what it was.
The highlight was the Hounds and Mountains long awaited clash. Despite Arya's lucky avoidance of death by fire... she was a great perspective to follow as we watched the streets of King's Landing burn to rubble. Finally, I throughly enjoyed Jamie's and Cersei's death. They were born together and died together. In all, despite Daenerys forced character arc, the episode was visually stunning with terrific moments. This was by far my most favorite episode of the season.
