Mr. Mercedes (2017)
Could have been so much better. Probably not.
There are so many, "HEY! Wait a minute!" moments that we finally gave up seeking any sense, or logic. OK, one good example. A cop, who is RETIRED, takes part in the judge's chambers - during the trial. It doesn't stop there. He also has input, and mouths off to the judge.
Someone then decided that wasn't ridiculous enough so had this RETIRED cop give, and take, advise from a District Attorney character.
There is also the seemingly obligatory know-everything-about-computers guy. Who seems thrilled to be allowed to perform his magic in exchange for the occasional sandwich.
We did wonder if the address, 1964, of the abandoned building, had any specific meaning. That was near the peak of our interest.
What on Earth? (2015)
This Dreck Stinks On Ice!!!
Aside from the ridiculousness of the comments, and of the very subjects, there is something else that destroys any chance of actually enjoying this show.
For some reason competently unknown to us, the producers have decided a lot of very loud sound effects would be useful, and possibly, entertaining. To make it all the more irritating, and annoying the overly loud sounds have nothing to do with the comments, or withe the "action". Just loud noise for the sake of being loud,I suppose.
And if that weren't enough to drive you away, the stories are beyond ridiculous. AND are never solved!
So, if you enjoy all of that sort of thing, good luck to you.
If it were possibly to give a zero star, I certainly would.
Junior Chef Showdown (2020)
Comments on Junior Chef Showdown
After watching just two episodes of this show my wife and I give it only five stars.
The reason for that is based on the behavior of two of the three judges.
Crawford and Andino, are so over the top silly and wildly enthusiastic as to be ridiculous and distractingly annoying. This is the only reason for giving the show only a five.
Anna Olson, the third judge is, the only one worth watching. Aside from the kids, of course.
As with so many cooking/contest shows the word, "Chef" is used often and unnecessarily. While exceptionally talented, none of the kid contestants are chefs.
The kids are all highly talented and amusingly entertaining. Cute even.
The Fatal Flaw: A Special Edition of 20/20 (2022)
EXTREMELY LOUD MUSIC!
This is absolutely awful. For some reason the creators of this mess decided overy loud, and completely unnecessary music was the key to making a TV show. It drowns out all the dialog. After about 5 minutes into it we both gave up.
Stay Close (2021)
Muddled mess.
The only reason for three stars is that the locations are somewhat interesting. The story is way overly complicated, and there are a lot of those, "Hey, wait a minute!" incidents. As Roger Evert used to say.
I'm giving up.

Modernized African Queen?
Is this a sexier, computerized version of African Queen?
Secret State (2012)
Preposterous
Way too many, "Hey, wait a minute!" moments/scenes. So much dialog drowned out by excessive music and/or sound effects. There is no ending, it just stops. Although, that seemed a merciful blessing.
BBQuest (2018)
Interesting Way To Pass the Time
Ms. Pribilski is very enthusiastic over BBQ and food generally. I gave the show 7 stars mainly because she is "just so darn cute".
One misconception she frequently perpetuates is that she's native Texan. She is actually from Georgia (GOOGLE - Born: December 29, 1990, age 30 years, Augusta, GA) but I imagine she got here as quickly as possible. So, welcome.
Briarpatch (2019)
New Shows Get 6 Viewings - mostly.
This show plays out as though it thinks it's an Elmore Lenard.
It ain't!
But a small-case e for effort.
Although my wife liked it more than I did. She gave it 7/8. I gave equal attention to our living room clock.
In fairness we will give it 2 more chances.
Midsomer Murders: Blood on the Saddle (2010)
The "Stink On Ice" Episode.
We're in complete agreement with the previous reviewer - this episoce (13/4) stunk on ice. However, the guitar was terrific. The only saving grace. Does anyone know the name of the musician and/or the song? Or, where to find out?
The Big Stage (2019)
A Fairly Good Variety Show; it means well
While the acts are interesting, the hosts are awful. But their dialog is worse. Forced humor, that isn't even marginally funny, and an uncomfortable familarity that just does not work. They both come across as trying to out cute each other. If it weren't for them and the mindless blather, I'd give the show an 8.
