Men, Money & Gold Diggers (2014)
Watch Your Back TP
If you haven't seen this movie GET IT TODAY! It is funny, crazy and above all TRUE. Je'Caryous Johnson is a new North Star that you will want to keep your eye on. Tyler Perry, make some room because Mr. Johnson is coming to Lionsgate.
Omar Gooding is a first class artist and proof that great talent in acting and music can run in the family.
Jill Marie Jones has added to her already impressive strength as a star artist who can draw you into her character. I'm impressed.
Patrice Fisher adds another conquest to her rosters and she pulled it off very well. Sisters, many of you will identify with her character (even if you don't want to) and reflect on it's impact in the lives you touch.
Miguel A. Núñez Jr. Does what he does best and that is make your laugh! This brother brings flavor tot he movie that would truly have been missed had he not been in it. It would be like having a nice big bowl of diet ice cream. What would be the point?
For those of your who have seen Malik Yoba in hits such as "Why Did I Get Married" (1 & 2), "Cool Running" and TV series "Undercover", then you already know that this is the real Anchor Man. He bring an energy to this movie that will leave you speechless. You will be shocked to see how he carries his character and the "X" to an unforgettable height.
This is a rock solid movie with an all star cast that will really change your direction of thinking when you hear the term "Gold Digger". This is one for the collection.
Tammy (2014)
Bringing It Home Tammy
I've read the hate views on here and all I can say is I am glad I don't watch movies through these people's eyes. Every movie has some continuity issues and that is now a normal part of keeping up with some many tasks needed to bring entertainment to the screen. Tammy is no exception. What I like most about this movie is that Tammy is the hard working girl next door. If you don't believe me, go next door and you will see. For some people, a string of misfortune is not a cause to quit but a reason for a road trip.
I personally believe this was not a comedy but a drama with people having fun and being funny. We all know that person in out life who makes us laugh most of the time without meaning to and for that Melissa was really great. "Identify Theft" which was my first view of her work and I liked it very much.
When I go to the movie I go with the intent and mindset to be entertained. I don't go as a critic I go as a fan and a willing participant to allow a few artist to live out characters situations just for my viewing pleasure. To go as a critic means to allow myself to miss the artistry and the opportunity to divest from my own reality and problems just so I can find reason to not like a talent. Bad artist speak for themselves without the critic's eye. Good artists are sincere at working to be great artist such as Melissa and I don't blame them for that. Even Denzel has done a few "less entertaining films as well as any other artist who make more than 50 Mill a picture.
Melissa, you did a great job with Tammy and I look forward to you next work.
