X = Prem (2022)
Waste of Time
Story is nice and to some extent, it also has a hint of innovation. But that's all. There is a part of sci-fi which was pathetically handled. There is fake romanticism everywhere which is far from reality. After certain time, the story looks boring and aimless. In addition to these, there are hell lot of creepy and cheesy dialogues which make things worse. After a certain time I was hoping it to end. Not expected from a director of this caliber. This took 2 hours of my life which is never going to come back.
Arjun Chakraborty and Shruti Das was good in acting. But Anindya Sen's (as Khilat) acting was going over the line again and again.
Mersal (2017)
Old wine in not so new bottle
The only reason you can watch the entire movie is Vijay. He carries the entire burden of a completely predictable, no-suspense plot on his own and puts the movie in a watchable category. But Vijay has done far more better movies than this one. 3 female leads have not much to do and does not have a combined screen presence of more than 30/40 mins. What I don't understand is why they have to go to the same non-sense story every time. There are so many mismatches all around the movie. On 3 different instances, 3 year of birth was mentioned. Two boys are born almost 10 years apart, but when they grow up they are twins!!! And I can keep on telling, but that will be more spoilers for you.
Summary:- Only watch if you don't care about stories and only want to watch Vijay. But still, there are lots of far better movies of him.

Worth-watching
Before I started watching the movie, I checked the rating. Based on the rating, I was not expecting a good movie. But surprisingly it is one of the best movies directed by Kaushik Ganguly. It keeps you constantly guessing how the plot is going to unwind. The way of storytelling never lets you feel bored. At the end, I think I realized the reason behind "not so top class" ratings. It does not end like a normal thriller movies but with a deep inner meaning. There are type of people who get disappointed with such kind of climax. The actors are already well-known for their class of acting. But for me, the surprise was actor Kaushik Ganguly. This is the first time I watched him acting and he passes with a distinction. The scenic beauty is additional point for viewers. The tea-gardens and greenness of hills of North Bengal is mind blowing and is so soothing for eyes (even if it is in a movie). There should be more of these type of movies.
Mute (2018)
Spoiled what could have been a great movie
I think the review title summarizes my feelings toward this movie. It had a great plot, although little slow in pace, but quite interesting. Alexander Skarsgård's acting was quite good although he lacks facial expressions while showing different types of emotions. The build up was nice and the climax as well. What spoiled the movie is the unnecessary use of the futuristic Berlin. There are so many neon colors flashing everywhere which distracts people from the actual plot. Moreover it eases out the tension which is required to be kept in a thriller movie. At the end, you will feel there is no role of those gadgets or flying cars in the whole movie except making it dull. It would have been a great movie if the plot was set in current day Berlin (i.e., without all those non-sense distractions) and to do so, the story would not have to be changed even a little bit.
The Night Comes for Us (2018)
Nothing but wastage of time
If you don't care about storyline and only bothered about action, then only watch it. In entire 2 hours only bloody actions are being shown. You will see too much violence and blood during this entire duration. There is no storyline. Even if you can find one, that has been shown in thousands of movies and in much better way. The only way to understand story is to read the plot on IMDb. I still regret wasting 2 hours.
