Darker Passages (2023)
Emmett Connery has to calm down,
The guy has some serious anger issues. Aside from Mr. Connery, the program is very enjoyable, albeit a bit out to left field. Out of the three episodes so far the first one does make you want to sit up and take notice, the second one was laughable to make one think tv shows and movies can drive a person insane and commit heinous acts. However, the third episode on cults is very scary to say the least, how religions have leaders that can and do go past the line of sanity and take their followers with them. This included Jim Jones, Charles Manson, Vernon Howell (David Koresh), and others, this is scary.
10 Items or Less (2006)
You have definitely got to watch this movie.
This is by far one of the best character study films I have seen in ages, it had me laughing and pondering things in life. It has great perfomances by Morgan Freeman, Paz Vega, and even pre Big Bang Jim Parsons. My only drawback is the opening scene with Jonah Hill, I cannot stand him to begin with. I also recommend the end credit scenes as well.
Cops and Robbers (2017)
Some of the worst acting, ever
Don't even bother watching. Tom Berenger should be massively embarrassed that he was even in this farce, Michael Jai White makes Andy Dick seem like a Thespian.
The Spy Next Door (2010)
A wondrously funny comedy caper, I also have that satellite dish alignment tool.
I highly recommend this film, Jackie Chan does a hilarious job of watching his next door neighbor lady's kids, as a favor to win their affection, as the neighbor lady is also his love interest. During an early scene, Chan fixes their satellite dish using a tool that is actually the DYMO LetraTag label maker you can get at any Walmart for $20, I got mine roughly 13 years ago for $15, I highly recommend getting one.
The Gunman (2015)
Spicolli after high school
Seems like Spicolli was forced to join the military after too many run ins with the law, was found to have certain special skills during basic and was recruited by the Firm, and given a name change. Fast forward several decades and he's on the run, trying to find those that want him dead some years after a hit on a prominent Congolese politician.
PS The retired Spanish legion contacts would have given him a Star Model B or a Beretta, not a Glock.
Close (2019)
Don't bother
This movie jumps all over the place, predictable action, wooden acting, and it finishes without answering why things were done. I would not recommend it to anyone.
The Freak Brothers (2020)
I cannot believe Gilbert Shelton greenlit this mess.
I am a child of the 70's and 80's and grew up with the classic comix, The Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers, and the stand alone Fat Freddy Scat (Kitty) comix. This series is a mess, the two biggest severe disappointments are that they turned the cat female, and Fat Freddy into a moron.
Assault on VA-33 (2021)
Unrealistic
As soon as the first person is shot, the entire building would have heard it and gone on alert, at least a few people calling 911.
Predestination (2014)
A new favorite
You must pay extremely close attention, even one second can confuse you.
Anna (2019)
Too many flashbacks.
There were too many flashbacks that made it difficult to follow at times, flashbacks in timelines that made no sense either.
Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow (2004)
Could be much better.
Filming it in sepia was a bad mistake, they should have gone with black and white since it's noir.
Birds of Prey and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn (2020)
It's all over the place.
This movie is a mess, bad editing, poor acting, Rosie Perez is horribly angrier than usual, Margot Robbie is the only one worth watching it for.
