I have missed Monk, so this was a sweet surprise!!
29 March 2024
It is always fun to be reunited with some of your favorite people, especially when there is a (fictional) murder mystery to be solved!! I feel a lot of reviews, especially since the Covid pandemic, have become a bit more critical (in the sense that they are negative) and so I just like to try to even the score and say if you want to watch it, don't let negative reviews stop you because in the end, we all have different opinions and experiences and so little things like comparing the "writing" or the "storylines" shouldn't be a factor in the overall negative reviews, worth mentioning to some maybe but not all - we should make up our own minds after watching an added comfort or joy that we get from being transported to a place that enhance our experiences.

JUST WATCH IT IF YOU LOVED MONK!!

It is a sweet little film

This is a sweet little short that even though we, as adults, understand what it is going on, they are kids and knowing that Shirley Temples parents were there every step of the way and Mrs. Temple was so proud of her only daughter and protected her from anything racy, she had the right to say as to what material could be used. Please keep in mind that this was during depression and these short films were meant to uplift the spirits of all Americans, which it did. It was never meant to be uncomfortable. When watching, keep in mind these were a product of the times and not looked at as indecent. They are actually really cute and fun when in the right state of mind and Shirley herself is so incredibly talented and cute to watch. It made me giggle and put a smile on my face knowing the innocence of the kids were having fun. You can see most of them laughing in the background. Please don't be quick to judge negatively when watching, try to go back in time and enjoy it for what it was initially intended for and not for what we know now. This is just my 2 cents, so understand I can see where others are coming from and not criticizing their opinions, just wanting to support the early days of film.

The Gilded Age (2022– )

A little bit of history with a lot of drama!

I like it! It definitely is NOT another Downton Abbey, which is where (I think) a lot of negative reviews came from. It is on HBO as opposed to PBS, which adds some controversial scenes. The costumes and scenery are meticulously marvelous and immediately enticing. The highlighted historical accents (e.g.-the hand and torch of the Statue of Liberty in Madison Square Park) and other little nuggets of the like, immediately drew me in. Of course it's not all factual, but is loosely based on a devoted family man/financier and the wealthy clique of "old money" who does not like the idea of modification and the changes it brings. It is a tad soapy, but that's what makes it fun! I'm not trying to change your mind if you've seen one or two episodes and have decided it's not for you, but I feel that any film production should be given a chance (based upon the subject and viewer interests) and decide whether it's worthwhile to them. As for me, I am extremely excited and anticipating the next season!!

The first season is always a test run!!

I love love love these comedians- was a little confused at first what the office stuff was about but caught on. The comments they make about the videos are funny, but maybe they could watch them a few times, still comment and take the best of it all. With the current state of the world, I am happy to see fresh new ideas for TV.

WHYYY are you giving negative criticism about a lifetime movie? Lifetime movies are for the hopeless romantics who are looking for some dangerous excitement AND want a happy ending. I am glad lifetime can whisk me away from my daily grind of a covid life, especially when the actors are all beautiful and enticing. And if you're looking for insight, it's a lifetime movie about a photographer who is trying to make it big and benefits from a stranger who rents a room from her which allows her to keep the family home, gives her the confidence to go after her dream, protects her from her flakey ex, a gives a little bit of sexy love. I don't see anything wrong with that. 😍😉😁 life is short... enjoy the erotic, quixotic fantasy world of lifetime movies!!!
