With Six You Get Eggroll (1968)
Good, clean, family fun!
I love these movies because you don't have to worry about seeing them with your kids. Much like "Yours, Mine and Ours", this movie shows the trials and tribulations of blended families and how they can all come to love each other in the end. A precursor to The Brady Bunch TV series, it is a wholesome movie the whole family can enjoy together.
Million Dollar Mile (2019)
Too much for too little
The show could be better if they didn't make it near impossible to win the $1 Million Dollars. 5 obstacles, plus all that running while being chased by a "defender" only for a SHOT at the million seems like a lot to have to get through. I thought it was OK, but they've already pulled the show after only 2 episodes due to very low ratings and are supposedly moving it to Saturdays on May 4th (vs Wednesdays) and no one has even gotten close to getting a shot at the million. We'll see if it even comes back May 4th at all.
The Reef (2010)
A mash up of JAWS and Open Water
It's no JAWS, by any means, but it is a somewhat entertaining shark fiction movie. Hints of Open Water for the desolation of it all and the scariness of a Great White hunting human prey. It was just OK, for me. Not great, but not bad. People who like shark fiction, thriller movies will like this one.
Stigmata (1999)
Good not great.
I saw this movie when it came out 20 years ago and thought... meh. It is not a great, scary, horror movie as I thought it would be and as it was originally advertised to be. But having watched it several times over the years on TV, I've come to see the nuances I did not originally. It is still not a great, scary, horror movie...but it is worth seeing for those who enjoy the unknown.
The Family Stone (2005)
A great movie!
I am rating this high because I thought it was a great movie about how truly dysfunctional most families really are. There was angst, humor, love, hate, fear, diversity, jealousy and more. The acting was well done by actors I like and I thought they were very believable in their roles. I always get a chuckle when people review movies, books, plays, etc. and try to read more into the story or plot than is actually there. There are many reviews here of this movie from people who rated it low and seem to be a little bit full of themselves...pseudo-intellectuals, LOL! I watch a movie to be entertained and this movie entertained me. Isn't that what movies are supposed to do?
