The Walking Dead: What We Become (2020)
GOODBYE MICHONNE <3
This episode is more of an 8.5 but i gotta give it to TWD. After last weeks extremley good and intense episode my hopes for this episode were low. I just thought it was kinda misplaced, a lot like "Scars (9x14)" but just like Scars this episode also proved me wrong. First of all Danai, even though inactive this season, did an amazing job portraying Michonne for almost 8 years now. Second of all, the decision to make this episode not only Michonne-driven but also a "What if" was defenitely the right decision. Everything about the "what if" scenes starting from the makeup to the editing to the reshooting of some scenes was done perfectly. It's almost a love letter to Danai's perfect character but also shows her importance. Its really the: What if Michonne didnt save Andrea, and we kinda saw what would happen. Great usage of Virgil too who, being an original character did good and was well written. Thank you Angela Kang for these amazing last two seasons and a special thanks to Danai Gurira for her amazing performance as Michonne Grimes. Can't wait for the rest of the season and for the Rick Grimes movies. THE FUTURE LOOKS BRIGHT FELLOW TWD FANS, LETS STICK AROUND AND SEE HUH ?!
Titans: Nightwing (2019)
Nightwing is here and so is some seriously bad decision making
The showrunners seem to have a big problem closing up the storylines and seasons in general. Same thing happened last year with a season finale that felt soooo out of place it looked like a whole different show. This season tried to tell a lot. I mean, we had so many storylines, some episodes just felt tiring to watch. But you can't deny that there were some good episodes in this season. The inconsistency is crazy. Killing Donna like that for example is just something I'd never see this show do. Or the way they treated Gar's character towards the end or anything involving Jason Todd. Deathstroke was great throughout the season but the way he died was very lackluster. You have a perfect villain you're building up for 12 episodes and you just kill him within the first 10 minutes of the episode. CRAZY RIGHT ?! Dick and Bruce really ended up being the most memorable part of a finale i thought would give much more than it did. Season 3 seems to dig deeper into Starfire's backstory with her sister Blackfire being the main villain. I am hyped and crossing my fingers for some consistent writing and storytelling like we saw in some episodes during this season.
The Walking Dead: Open Your Eyes (2019)
IT'S A 10 BUT
This is my second 10 for this season after the 10x05 "What it always is" Negan episode. I'm truly shocked and sad. Seems like Angela Kang was aware of the famous Siddiq - traitor theories because she kept putting him in that position throughout the episode. I walked in with no spoilers and I'm impressed. As far as Dante is concerned, yeah he's different from his comic counterpart but good different. I love how this episode stays true to the source material but changes it too to add that unpredictability to it. As slow as this season was you can see it building up to an amazing mid-season finale. The "BUT" in my title is there because i noticed a couple of plot holes but the episode was soo good I'm not even gonna bother. Rest in peace Siddiq one of my favs fo sure. Keep it up TWD the future is bright
The Walking Dead: Lines We Cross (2019)
SEASON 10 !!!
Ahhh TWD, one of the most inconsistent shows on TV that has finally found its way under the new showrunner Angela Kang, whom i must say did an amazing job last year and seems to be continuing that this year. This episode all and all is a strong start to what seems to be a very different and colorful season. Loved that they finally "re-introduced" and started using the whole Oceanside plot. The whisperer war is near and I couldn't have been more excited. Please keep it up TWD
Stranger Things: Chapter One: Suzie, Do You Copy? (2019)
STRANGER THINGS IS BACK
Okay so, one of the biggest shows in recent memory and definitely the biggest Netflix original ST is back. What was the first episode like tho ? Pretty good i gotta say. I hate the fact that people suddenly become experts in reviewing tv shows and all that but I still respect everyone's opinion. The first epi was strong and undoubtedly a good start. The ST feel is still there, the cool '80s vibe and the soundtracks and the atmosphere and the clothes and all the usual stuff basically. The script seemed fine to me and specifically that first scene with the russians and the lab was very good and impressive to say the least. This season sounded promising on paper, looked even more promising in the trailers and is already delivering. Again, great start for a great show.
