Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story (2020)
The best of 2020
This is the only Indian series I've ever given 10/10. The casting, music and the direction of Hansal Mehta and Jai is .. well I don't have much to say.
JL50 (2020)
Much potential
To talk about quantum physics in India, that must be appreciated. But, this could have been worked alot on the plot and character development.
This has potential.
Bandish Bandits (2020)
Give it a shot for the plot.
The plot is a very not so spoken topic for this gen. Except for the acting of the known talent in this the newcomers were adequate. Ritwik shows a little potential but the Shreya is nothing but most of the time cringe except a few good scenes. I'd say watch it for the content because that's what makes it stand.
One thing I hated, do women from Mumbai in the music industry really wear designer clothes and make-up to make music?
Khuda Haafiz (2020)
Worth the wait.
Vidyut has tremendously imrpoved in his acting since Commando and doesn't seem to stop. You won't see much stunts in this but you will see his acting and you'd be impressed. Faruk Kabir, waiting for more projects from him. Well put movie.
Lootcase (2020)
A comedy we needed.
Alast a comedy which is not cringy or forced with a starcast of only talent. Must watch and must support cinema like this.
Avrodh: The Siege Within (2020)
Not the best, but a good attempt.
Except the acting, the execution of the action sequences and dialogues, screenplay etc seems adequate. There are a few goofs here and there which are very visible.
Raat Akeli Hai (2020)
We need more directors like Honey Trehan.
For starters it resembles alot with "Knives Out" but then it's more than that. What "Lunchbox" made us feel I'm sure this must have the same impact. And I don't need to say anything about the cast, it's that obvious.
Yaara (2020)
Something seemed incomplete.
I have no problems with the movie except the execution of the plot which seemed a bit hasty. Otherwise it's a decent movie.
Pather Panchali (1955)
Why didn't I see this yet.
One of the best movies from India. Period.
The relationship between the siblings is probably one of the most authentic and raw portrayal in cinema. I've gotta watch more of Satyajit.
Super 30 (2019)
Get rid of the songs.
Yes, get rid of the songs and the dark coloured Hrithik and this is a good movie.
Uri: The Surgical Strike (2019)
Technically very accurate.
Never heard of this director but he sure has done a brilliant job showcase the precision of the Indian Army routine and techniques and training. Movies like should be make more often.
Looking forward for Aditya Dhar for future projects.
Vicky and Mohit sure is a good pair.
Gully Boy (2019)
Meh.
Most of the film is inspired or copied from Eminem's 8 Mile. Apart from Ranveer's, Siddhanth and Aila (for some part), the rest is a decent watch. Kalki was pretty good as always.
Bhonsle (2018)
Underrated Simplicity
This movie is a hope that small budget and content driven movies are still being made. The most caught my eye in this movie is the simplicity and grounded view of movie making and acting.
I'd say if anyone wants to learn about movie making in a simple way, this is one of those.
Aarya (2020)
Potential
Okay, so enough of the same old "Sacred Games" repeated identical scripts this is Somewhat different. Sushmita feels like she finally started really acting. It's a pretty decent adaptation of its Dutch series.
Portrait de la jeune fille en feu (2019)
Art
This is purely a piece of art and that too with no background score. It's one of my favorites.
Sonchiriya (2019)
Class
We need more of this kinda movies than the usual boy meets girl movies.
Cinematography, direction and acting is top notch. Surprisingly Sushant did a very convincing portrayal. Manoj and Ranveer are two of the Actors and that's nothing to argue. We have also one of my favourite actors after this movie - Bhumi.
Illegal - Justice, Out of Order (2020)
It's meh!
The only 2 things I liked is the story which had or has potential but was not exactly the best way to portray and the acting of Kubra Sait and Piyush Mishra rest all were decent.
Editing is choppy and there are noticeable goofs which are just irritating.
