Murdaugh Murders: Deadly Dynasty (2022)
Cry babies
A bunch of kids, who still can't bear any responsibility for their actions. All these kids knew what Paul was like, but none of them did anything about it. If a guy I knew slapped his girlfriend I wouldn't stand by and say nothing, but the other guys on the boat did nothing. Too many crocodile tears, and no resolution to anything. What happened to the lawyer who was hired to investigate Mallorey's death? About 2 mins on screen and then that was it. What happened with the lawyer after? Netflix needs to get better and have resolutions to series. Not open ended hearsay. What happened the any cops?
Ghostbusters: Afterlife (2021)
A rip off of Stranger Things
I didn't want another annoying kiddy movie, who incidentally seem to work out how highly sophisticated equipment work within seconds. No plot, no new ideas, and no direction. If my daughter had blown up half the town at the very least, she'd have been grounded for 50 yrs!!
Undergods (2020)
Undergods? More like the over before it started
Awful. Self indulgent, incoherent dribble. I was really looking forwards to this, but did it deliver? Well, it delivered something. Utter rubbish. If you are going to film an anthology, make sure all of the stories link together.
Schumacher (2021)
What about the here and now?
I really enjoyed this but why didn't it focus on the last 8 yrs since the accident? I understand the need for privacy but there are thousands of fans out there who want to know how Michael is day to day. 11 minutes at the very end doesn't do him justice and I feel the family have missed an opportunity here.
Monster Hunter (2020)
Ask no questions?
If I suddenly get transported to an alien world I'd probably ask a question or two, like wtf am I doing in a alien world for starters? Dumb acting, dumb storyline, dumb CGI, and I'm dumb for paying £13.99 to watch it. There goes my Just Eat budget for the night.
Sophie: A Murder in West Cork (2021)
Sadness and betrayal
I felt incredible sadness for the family of Sophie, and also the betrayal by the judicial system in Ireland. From the DPP who wouldn't prosecute and dismissed domestic violence as "one of those things that happen", to the incompetence and corruption of the Gardia, and even the attitude of the Coroner who didn't arrive on the murder scene until days later. Maybe the murder of a woman didn't warrant a speedy response. Also, the self serving 'key witness' who was out with her ex-boyfriend that night, but felt her own welfare came above the murder of an innocent woman when it came to her conflicting statements. I found the partner of Ian Bailey blinded by the extreme violence and abuse suffered at the hands of the 'poet' and maybe if she hadn't stuck by him for so long, justice would have been served. Mostly, I found the egotistical, angry, self indulgence of Ian Bailey the hardest thing to stomach. Here we have a violent man, with extreme sexual fantasies, lying to the audience in a vain attempt to attract pity. Where is the justice for Sophie, and how can a community life with such a man?
Line of Duty: Episode #6.7 (2021)
Come on now seriously?
So the criminal mastermind behind it all was dopey Ian? Come on now. What a lazy piece of writing. He couldn't even tie up his own shoelaces let alone plan a meticulous operation. Also, why add James Nesbit into the equation and not use him? What is the point in that?
It's a Sin (2021)
Heartwarming
The 80s were my iconic teenage years and I remember this period so vividly, but I'm ashamed to say as a heterosexual man at the time I didn't appreciate how much stigma and harm the public perception of AIDS had at the time. Maybe I just had blinkers on, but this show was an education as well as being heartwarming and brilliantly acted
The Mandalorian: Chapter 16: The Rescue (2020)
Did that really happen?
So good, so exciting, so emotional. Words can't describe how I felt when the x-wing arrived on the scene. I'm a grown man trying to explain to my girlfriend why I'm so overcome with joy....
The Midnight Sky (2020)
Hunt the storyline
If only this film had a beginning, middle and end.... No story, no suspense, no drama. Just a boring, muddled mess. Like the sun beating down on the ice, my interest just melted away.
Unhinged (2020)
Crazy to watch this
I must have been unhinged to watch this all the way through. A man able to kill and cause carnage with not a single cop around? And what about the first scene? Why was this never expanded upon? These days you can't sneeze without cameras or social media but this guy is like a ninja. A 20 stone ninja able to escape a car crash in seconds. I long for Gladiator.
Enola Holmes (2020)
Clueless
Like an impossible case of Sherlock Holmes I found this clueless.
Outcry (2020)
Worrying
A sad indictment of the US justice system, and hidden agendas. Never forget that there are victims here, but the way Greg was treated still haunts me to this day, as it could happen to any of us. Let's Just how the perpetrator is finally bought to justice one day.
Coherence (2013)
Couldn't find it....
An interesting concept ruined by having no real storyline, muddled acting, and zero action.
Hey Duggee (2014)
Amazing
I've got to be honest it's amazing. My 10 month year old loves it, and it has enough adult humour for even the hardest parent to enjoy. More episodes please as I now know every episode, every line, every character off by heart.
The Mandalorian (2019)
A return to it's original roots
If only the recent films remembered what made Star Wars great. For kids brought up on only CGI, yes there are 'puppets' here, and sorry if that offends you. A western in space, but a great western at that.
Eli (2019)
A twist with a difference
I'm all for a twist in a movie. The Usual Suspects, Sixth Sense, but not when that twist is so awful, so nonsensical, that it defines logic and turns a horror into a comedy. Poor writing.
Black Mirror: Rachel, Jack and Ashley Too (2019)
A petition to bring back Black Mirror
Please sign my petition to bring back BM. Series 5 has disappeared and been replaced by a new Disney show. Remember what made BM such a great show. It wasn't this....
The Open House (2018)
No Beginning. No middle, and no end
Awful to the point of embarrassing. How did this film get made? What was the point of the crazy woman? What was the point of 'moving things around'? Why the elaborate break in? To name but a few pointless scenes.
Overlord (2018)
Yet another J J remake
The only reason why this was made, was because of J J. It's a rehash of Snow Soldiers, Iron Sky etc etc, but they did it better. He has a habit of remakes. Star Wars, Star Trek. When is he going to start making something original??
Cuckoo (2012)
Surprised
I watch the first episode of season 5 and hated it. No Taylor and the soul seemed to have been sucked out of it. How could he be replaced? Then something strange happened. I started to really enjoy it. In fact I loved it. Nobody likes change, but sometimes change isn't a bad thing. Just stick with it
Bird Box (2018)
The Happening
Better than The Happening, but why the cop out with no explaination? If you are going to base a movie on "something strange" at least try and explain where it came from.
Would You Rather (2012)
Would you rather?
Would you rather..... not watch this film again? Enough said.... Awful...
The Nun (2018)
Please DM me the plot
I loved The Conjuring. I even loved The Conjuring 2, although this was just a remake of The Enfield Haunting. But this was just so lazy. The writing was awful, the characters were poorly written, and how did they get the blood of Christ? Please, please, please, show a bit of imagination, and originality. Not the usual lame, poor CGI, mush!!
The Predator (2018)
A kid saves the day
I hate movies where a kid saves the day, a la 'A Quiet Place'. There is no plot. The characters make no sense. But I kinda enjoyed the film cus it didn't take itself too seriously. The franchise died 28 yrs ago. It ain't coming back....
