Such a great Film!
4 December 2021
I have been wanting to see this for a few months now. I really wanted to like it, was afraid I wouldn't. Turns out, I loved it. It was a really good storyline that fits comfortably into the original franchise. There is a perfect amount of comedy, geeky Ghostbusters fanboy content, new likeable characters and a proper closing of the original's cast storyline.

No spoilers, but we know that the main character is Egon's grand daughter & she played the part so well. Paul Rudd is good in just about every movie he's in, and the rest of the new characters are likeable.

I wasn't expecting to get quite so emotional by the end, but there me & my wife were, tearing up with our 6 year old ghostbusters fan between us clapping and loving it as much as I loved the original (ironically which came out when I was 6 myself).

Highly, highly recommend. Best movie I've seen in 2021. 10/10.

Solid movie

I enjoy Tom Holland as Spiderman. He plays the part as well as anyone. This was a much needed light hearted film coming on the heels of the intense Infinity War/End Game saga. I'm intrigued by the hinting of the multi-verse, although I'm not sure it will ever be pulled off in live action. Overall, I give it a favorable 7/10.

Unexpectedly Enjoyable

Warning: Spoilers
I had low expectations for this film, because the previews made it seem hokie and the timing of release around Captain Marvel & End Game caused me some super hero fatigue.

However, after watching it last night I'm happy to say I was wrong about this movie. It was enjoyable and not as goofy as some of the previews made it seem.

My only real issue with Shazam is the fact that he seems more powerful than Superman. I suppose the fact that he's a teenager will keep him mentally inferior to the other members of the Justice League.

All in all though, if you were on the fence about seeing this film, I suggest giving it a shot. Hopefully you find it as fun and interesting as I did.

Not so good

Warning: Spoilers
We caught this movie on tv this weekend. It was all over the place. Somehow, even though it takes place in the 1930's, kids were wearing Chuck Taylor shoes, a band member had an afro, and there was a rap break during a pageant hosted by an actor portraying Bing Crosby. The pageant was to save a home for wayward children and dogs, although nobody seemed to care about the children who would be displaced & it was all about the dogs. Oh, and somehow there was a magic hero horse residing on this property as well.

Amazingly for a basic film, there was way too much to absorb. It was like Full House had a drunken one night stand with High School Musical and then had an unwanted Swing Kids baby, who ironically would've been sent to the home for wayward children and dogs. So...circle of life?

Decent movie

This movie got mixed reviews and I see why. Seemed to have a hard time deciding if it was a comedy or scary action film. Overall, worth watching.
