Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2022)
Worse than the one before
Every time they remake this movie it's worse than the one before. If you're not going to do it right, just don't do it at all. It's exhausting not having any good horror around anymore.
Aftermath (2021)
Ugh - another one of these
Ok - first - it's not scary so don't believe that. Second, WHY DON'T THEY TURN ON THE LIGHTS?? I hate so much when they make a movie and the characters do the opposite of what normal people do. You go into a house and leave everything completely dark? You NEVER turn on the lights in your house at night?? EVER???? I could go on but it's pointless.
Val (2021)
Beautiful - you've got no idea
I don't usually care for documentaries - but this is such a beautiful love story to his life. It's not just about his acting career - which is touching - but his entire life. I wish I could put it into words but I can't find them. I cried so much during this two hours. I was glued to it. You don't have to be a Val Kilmer fan to relate to the love in this film. "How do you heal a broken heart?"
The White Lotus (2021)
Not sure what I just watched
*spoilers* kind of
So maybe part of my issue was the first description I read made me think it was some kind of murder mystery thriller. Definitely nothing thrilling with this show. It's just a lot of f*ed up people. I was in episode 3 and was thinking why am I still watching - I mean I kept wanting to watch even though there really wasn't any excitement to it. The thing that makes it weird is the acting is incredible. I love the cast. There's a lot of strange white power, homophobia, drug use, full d*ck inspection, maybe a little date rapey, just lots and lots of crazy f*d up people. I'm one more episode from the end. Like I totally don't know why I'm watching but it's kind of good I guess? Maybe it's just a train wreck that you can't look away from?
One Night in Bangkok (2020)
It's ok
It's not bad. It's really the acting and script that doomed this. Mark Dacascos and Vanida Golten are great. Good acting and I really did like the characters. It's everyone else in the film that sucks. They also didn't do a good job of linking the stories. I mean it's not awful - it's not great but I've definitely watched worse. I actually watched to the end and that's saying A LOT for me. If I see where the movie is going and I'm bored I'll just quit. But I really like Mark and Vanida and I want to see them to the end.
We Need to Talk About Kevin (2011)
Prepare for therapy after watching this
I have no idea how to rate this. The subject matter is so disturbing and there are NO HINTS in the description to warn you how awful this is as far as subject matter! I'm giving you this warning to GO READ THE REVIEWS WITH THE SPOILERS because honestly you need to be prepared if you're going to watch this.
The Poison Rose (2019)
omg it's so bad
Lord have mercy - where to even start. It wasn't necessarily a bad plot - but it was bad story telling. And the acting? That's the worst and most unfortunate part. A fabulous cast left to die in this movie. John Travolta acted better on Welcome Back Kotter than he did in this. It was like he was purposely trying to act bad. The accent? WTF kind of accent is it supposed to be?? Most of the cast tried to use a "Texas" accent that they made up in their heads. Texans talk just like regular people. Morgan Freeman was the ONLY saving grace in this - then again he could read a phone book. Kat Graham wasn't in it enough to even comment on - maybe should would have helped if they gave her a few lines. Famke is as gorgeous as always - but again the terrible accent. I watched the entire train wreck. OH - and Brendan Frasier?! What the hell was that!?! You seriously have to see this to believe it. It's almost like you really need to watch this so you can get a good laugh.
True Detective: Omega Station (2015)
Holy hell. Best show ever
**small spolier** this is hands down the best season of all 3. These characters are so amazing. The acting. I think this might be my most favorite Vince Vaughn performance ever. It's subtle but strong. Everyone is so damaged. The story has a logical flow and you pretty much know it's not going to have a happy ending. I cried a bunch at the end. Then I started the whole thing over again. It was seriously that good. I cried at the end of the second time too. The only thing I would change is I knew out of the 4 main characters, at least 2 of them would die But in the end it was. I wish at least half of them had a happy ending. Damn this season was so good.
Greenland (2020)
I'm gonna tell you why you shouldn't watch it
I can handle when things are a little unrealistic but I'm telling you this plot is overplayed and just stupid. Ok first - why do all of these disaster movies have to have a family where a kid needs some life saving medicine that miraculously gets left behind - which causes the family to separate?! I'm over it!!! Then a family member says "stay right here" but the other person gets up to leave for some dumb reason!!! It's overplayed!! THEN someone is going to try and take your kid away and instead of the kid trying to get away they just sit there and let the person take them?!?! Come on now!!! I stopped watching after that because I was over it. I mean I get that they're trying to make it dramatic but don't be stupid and just stop using the same crap over and over again.
Them (2021)
Depressing and full of
It's just depressing. That's it. Depressing. It's all about hating white people.
Rambo: Last Blood (2019)
What a waste
If everyone dies in the end, what's the point? Just a bunch of blood, so predictable.
Hotel Artemis (2018)
Could have been really good
It's so disappointing because the cast is great, the storyline was very interesting, but the script left so many holes!! You will end up thinking well that was completely pointless.
Relic (2020)
WTF so dumb.... But
That person DukeEman gives an accurate review and had I not just read it I would have no idea what I just watched. I want a horror movie to scare the crap out of me, not educate me on dementia. I thought babdook was just as stupid. This was a waste of my time. But if you like crap like that then go for it.
The Rental (2020)
Every other review is spot on
It's all for nothing. Even with killers like Michael Myers, Jason Voorhees, Freddy Krueger - you always get some insight to why they're crazy /why they're killing. In this movie you get nothing. You don't know how the killer even ties into the whole place! Is he the brother? Neighbor? Why did he do it? Was it the first time? It just doesn't make sense.
Halloween Party (2019)
it's a D horror - you get what you get
So it's a typical D horror - the acting isn't completely horrible. the story is silly - haunted children sending curses to people - the most frustrating part is the girl with a perfectly working phone in her hand that decides to hide instead of using the phone to call for help. LOL then there's a poop monster. it's ridiculous. you won't be scared unless you're like - seven or something.
Black Christmas (2019)
Reviews are right
Avoid it at all costs. Twist is DUMB. All the cliches are there and stupid. Couldn't hate it more
Dybbuk Box: The Story of Chris Chambers (2019)
Seriously skip it
This movie is an hour long and I was 45 min into it and there was still nothing happening other than some furniture moving and lights flickering. It's so boring.
Nocturne (2020)
skip it
It's really bad. think "Black Swan" except not good.
Mayhem (2017)
Ok
It's like Shaun of the Dead, except without the humor.
The Shed (2019)
Scary for kids
I mean if you're a kid it's a good first time every movie. It's ok. Very easy to follow. Thing I hated the most is too many dream sequences. Those are useless space fillers and I hate them.
The Void (2016)
Worth it
So the bar is pretty low for horror movies theses days, with that in mind, this movie is enjoyable. It starts off at 100 and delivers a solid first half. The last half is a little slow and silly but the first half makes it worth it. I enjoyed it.
Haunt (2019)
I really enjoyed it
It has a lot of good scares. Not too many idiots. I really liked it. It's hard to find a good scary movie that I like anymore. Worth a watch.
Ghostland (2018)
Finally!!!
I'm a horror fan and absolutely LOVE this movie. Everyone has something different that scares them. For me, it's this type of thing. Kind of like The Strangers. It kept me guessing. It wasn't a jump scare movie and technically it didn't "scare" me but it's the kind of thing that does scare me. I just loved it. Best movie I've seen in a while as far as the horror genre goes.
The Cleansing Hour (2019)
A good watch
Is it scary? No. But it is entertaining. I've watched a million movies classified as "horror" and I've seen some really bad ones. This one isn't awful. I enjoyed it.
The Furies (2019)
Awful
Anyone that gave this above a 1 star must have been paid to do it. It's just gore with no context, no plot, no story, and most importantly no scare. Skip it.
