One of the best you'll ever see
9 May 2016
This is one of the best movies I've seen all year. It's one of those thrillers that pull you in and never let's go. The concept of spending most of it's inside the bunker for the majority of the film was handled perfectly and you just keep wondering is what's out the bunker worse than what's inside? The cast was great Mary Elizabeth Winstead was a great choice for a female lead and played her role perfectly as well as John Gallagher Jr but it's John Goodman that stole the show for me as he seem like this great guy who may know what's going but just maybe crazy as well. I really enjoyed this and so far the best movie I've seen that has been released this year so far.

My rating 10/10

Lucy (I) (2014)
6/10
100% percent entertaining
30 March 2016
Here's another real odd ball that I watched this past week. It stars Scarlett Johansen and that is of course all I needed to wanna watch this movie. Lucy is about this women who is kidnapped by this group of thugs and then gets a powerful drug put inside her that unlocks the full 100% of her brain and now she's super smart and seems to have the powers of Jedi.

This movie is just really weird and not quite what I was expecting. This is of course an action film. It's got all clichés that were use to. Then becomes a super hero movie and then a beautiful visual ride. It's really confusing a bit at times and it gets worse in the end. The issue I have with Lucy is that she's the only super powered person in this film and there's no one in this that ever becomes powerful enough to give a really cool final final fight in the end, but a weird and visual like dream of a world kinda ending. It's not great and I highly doubt someone would become super hero or a jedi if we used 100% percent of our brain. It's entertaining if you don't look much into it and it's got Scarlett Johansen as a sexy bad ass chick with guns and Morgan Freeman Teaching science

Krampus (I) (2015)
9/10
Great Christmas horror
11 March 2016
Warning: Spoilers
I was finally able to watch Krampus the other day and I was sure glad I did. The overall story is nothing particularly scary or at least for adults and doesn't seem to take it's self to serious, but very entertaining, full of fun and likable characters that I actually cared about in the end. The back story of Krampus was very thought out and didn't feel stupid as I thought it was going to be when I first heard about it. it's kind of a home invasion/survival type situation like you're Next for example but with a nice twist. The casting was great, they weren't a bunch of useless young good looking people hired for their good looks and not their acting skills. They all played their parts very well, even the children. I usually hate CGI in my horror films because it makes everything look really fake and takes away the fun and the fear, but it was very well done here and even had a good mix of practical effects as well. Each of the monsters were very well designed and had their own goofy and monstrous look to them that kinda reminded me of demonic toys. Now if you didn't already know this PG13 horror film doesn't have a drop of blood in this at all kinda like Final Girls so gorehounds will be disappointed throughout. But for everyone else it's a fun lighthearted horror film that doesn't take it's self to serious and a little overall cheesy, but a lot of fun to watch and i recommend you check it out on DVD on the 26th of April if you didn't already see it in theaters or just wanna watch it again

The Forest (I) (2016)
4/10
Didn't care for it
13 February 2016
Just watched the Forest. It wasn't horrible, but it wasn't really good either. I like how the film was shot it created a great creepy atmosphere for the film. I also really enjoyed the performance from the Natale Dormer. I think she needs to be in more horror movies. It's just I found the story to be really bland. It's not really about the suicide forest. Watching this movie you actually forget where the movie is actually set in. It's really just a simple thriller type story that never really gets going. We just follow the lead into the forest looking for her sister. And that's all it is pretty much. There is no real plot twist or suspense to really keep me engaged. The ghost in this movie offer nothing to this movie except cheap scares. I really thought they were gonna be connected to plot somehow and nothing came of it. The ending is really cheap and just plain stupid. It offered nothing to the movie to the movie except sequel bait and more cheap scares. I don't recommend you waste money on this movie.

Cabin Fever (2016)
3/10
Pointless remake
13 February 2016
I'm not the one to hate on horror movie remakes I actually enjoy watching a classic remade for the modern audience. But that's only when the director can create a new modern twist or add more to what the original didn't have like what Zombie did for Carpenter's Halloween. But the remake of Eli Roth's Cabin Fever is just one of the most pointless horror remakes I've ever seen next to Psycho. The story of the movie is lame. It's everything you seen in the original just with different actors in these scenes. You actually know what's coming next. You even know what the characters are gonna say next. There's nothing new added in the directors own vision. It's the same Dog death opening scene. The scene where one of the characters gets his hand attacked by Dennis is the same. Even the camp fire story is the same. The only difference is the ending of the movie, which is not half bad. The characters are very unimportant to this movie or at least they felt like it. You don't pay even a minute of attention to them because, well they are supposed to be the same as well and they make the same dumb choices of survival as the original. The blood n gore effects seem to be up higher than the original. But it might it some gore lovers we do see a lot more blood all around in some scenes especially in the bath tub scene we see even some skin coming off.

I didn't enjoy this remake at all it's nothing, but watching the same movie you already seen. You know what's coming next. The characters die in the sane order as they did in the original. The only differences you'll find is the ending, higher blood n gore, and different actors who shouldn't be allowed to ever act in another movie again. I don't recommend you watch this waste of a remake. You'll have a much more better time re watching the original movie.

Awesome anthology
12 February 2016
Saw this yesterday and I really liked it. It's done by the guys who did the VHS movies so that's something good, right? This movie focuses on different travelers crossing a long desert highway where they meet their darkest fears. This was good anthology. Each story was really well done, they kept me on the edge of my seat, they were creepy and intense. Like Trick or Treat and Christmas horror story each story is connected to one another. Every time something shocking happens at the end of one story it cuts into the next story with sometimes featuring one of the characters from the last story. It gives you the feel that you aren't even watching an anthology movie because you are figure out that the characters aren't facing a different horror but the same horror that everyone is facing, it actually feels we are just changing from one lead to another you could say . I would like to say more about this movie, but i don't want to give anything away and some the stories of are to explain. If you like anthologies like VHS than you'll really enjoy this one.

Doesn't live up to the original
29 December 2015
Okay, I'm a fan of Charles Band and his company Full Moon, my favorite is Puppet Master and Demonic Toys so I was more than happy to check this one out. So me and my younger brothers which are also fans of the original decided to check this out last night, but sadly we were disappointed.

This movie was awful but not in a good way. The original Demonic toys was a low budget cheesy movie but it delivered a good amount of fun and really kept you entertained despite the bad acting n lack of plot. This movie on the other hand it didn't quite deliver the fun, all this movie seem to deliver to me, is a good amount of boredom. I literally found myself doing something else than watching the movie. But i really think that's the fault of the pacing of the movie because it's really slow, we really seem to spend more time with the Human characters of the movie, that's never really a bad thing but they don't add anything to the movie except wonder around a castle for what seems like forever. So when finally get to the demonic toys they aren't anything special because compared to the original they really cheap and the voice of Baby Oopsite Daisy gets annoying after a while. So as a Demonic toys fan like I stated above it was a big disappointment I'm actually really ashamed of myself for buying the DVD

Serves no purpose
28 December 2015
I never been so bored in my life until I saw this movie. Falling asleep on movies is a rare thing for me because I always find something that holds my attention, even in the most awful movies. But this film has nothing entertaining about it. There's no story at all or characters to like or even hate because they aren't developed and for those looking for a really disturbing movie you seriously need to look elsewhere. Because the only disturbing thing is a girl screaming for hours with no real reason, a weird dude making random facial expressions and having creepy childhood flashbacks that don't seem to have really, any purpose at all and an a really annoying soundtrack that will make your ears bleed. The only positive thing I can really say is the black n white shooting of the movie because it almost gives an art feel in the beginning.

So overall this movie is really boring and not even disturbing as I've heard it's just a movie that serves no real purpose other than making you want fall asleep or that's if the annoying screaming or soundtrack doesn't make you turn it off in the last minute or so.

Completely awful, don't waste your time
18 December 2015
Plot a group of girlfriend's travel to a cabin on the Christmas holiday but unaware of a Santa Claus killer.

Yet this is another introduction into the killer Santa movies but this is by far the worse of them all. The storyline for starters really sucked it literally felt like that there was script written for this movie, like at all it really random people traveling out into the woods and being slaughtered. The camera work really sucked as well, it literally looked like it was filmed for someone's YouTube or something. I'm not really going to waste anymore time by explaining the acting or the death scenes because that all really sucked too. The movie is just a complete waste of time nobody so should really waste their time with it because god knows i wish i could turn back the clock.

Re-Kill (2015)

Don't really expect much. Just watch it for what it is
17 December 2015
I checked this out expecting the same old zombie apocalypse movie and that's exactly what I received. But with a small twist to this flick, it's shot entirely in reality show style. Now that is nothing new or anything because that's been done with zombies, such as the Spanish film REC and the zombie diaries. Now I'll say the reality show style here is not as believable as REC but it was well executed and delivered a nice twist to the movie it even includes commercials such as zombies apocalypse propaganda about re populating the earth, you know the good stuff. The plot is isn't anything to really talk about because it is what is, just a group of people killing zombies, running and hiding from zombies and being by eaten zombies.

But the acting is good, it's above average for this kinda movie and the special effects are well executed with a nice mix of practical effects and modern computer effects. Now the story gets a little boring in parts, the camera sometimes shakes a little to much and the propaganda commercials gets a little annoying at times. But overall not a bad movie just don't expect much from it and you might like it.

Complete snooze fest
10 December 2015
I really liked the concept of the movie. A parody both on the slasher craze of the 80s and the teen beach movies of the 60s but sadly it didn't deliver the fun as it promised.

The story is really badly written and the acting is just horrible. But it's supposed to be funny but it wasn't funny. The jokes are awful and didn't give me a chuckle and the cinematography is enough to to anyone a headache.

It's a complete snooze fest. I literally found myself falling asleep more than I was laughing at the movie and that's not a good sign. I will not recommend this snooze fest to anyone not even a fan of horrible movies, check out scary movie or the 80s gem Student Bodies.

Decent Morden high school movie
2 December 2015
Yes I know this movie is like 5 years but a lot of older movies have newer reviews so why not. The movie follows a high school student Olive (Emma Stone) a she uses the rumor mill to advance her high school life but soon things aren't good as they seem.

Now the movie isn't laugh out loud funny or really goofy like most movies of it's kind but there is some jokes and scenes that will have you laughing on the floor though. But also most it's kind, it's got a really good story to it that keeps you watching and a even a lesson learned in the end. Now there's some typical high school movie clichés here in there but that's to be expected because of the movies theme and tone. The performances are great everyone did their best especially Emma Stone she's outstanding in the role as Olive. The soundtrack is there's a lot catchy tunes in there you could say even a cover Joan Jett's Bad Reputation. So it's worth checking out if you're into high school movies.

Zombeavers (2014)

cheesy fun movie
7 September 2015
The story pretty simple a group of sexy 20 something girls travel to a cabin in the woods and what they don't is some toxic waste has been spilled into the river and has turned the beavers into hungry radioactive monster's.

The movie is total fun all over the place, cheesy story, cheesy dialogue, cheesy monster's and some really hot female leads.

It's just one of those fun cheesy horror movies you have to watch with a open mind. Some will enjoy this and some won't. Like Killer clowns From outer space, class of nuke em high, leprechaun and the latest Sharknado. You know stuff like that.

Just get some popcorn or whatever you got and sit back and enjoy this cheese fest.
