Mama June: From Not to Hot: Family Crisis: Rocky Mountain High (2024)
Still hard in Georgia
My daughter is about to graduate University of North Georgia in Dahlonega. She has been working hard to find an apt. In Gainesville, where she will be a SPED teacher, she is having a very tough time finding an apt. They want first and last rent and a two bedroom and two bath is almost 2k so it's not cheap here, either. She has two other girls who want to be her roommates so that will make it a bit better. I just can't get over you can't get an apt because you have no credit. I feel bad for these kids who want to do something with their life but they can't find a place to live, it's just not right.
Somebody Feed Phil: Mumbai (2024)
Great show stop politics
While I really love the show and Phil's expressions and jokes tickle me, please stop the politics. I'm good with letting people into the US but please vet them. We already have US citizens creating so much crime we don't need people from the outside doing the same. If you want to come to this country legally and to be part of it(I do like the story about the king and Persians with the milk metaphor) please do it the right way. Phil has a tendency to sneak a little politics in his shows and it can be annoying. Luckily, he not terribly bad about it, after all, he did have Gilbert Godfrey on it before he died. Comedy is a wonderful art because if done right everyone can get caught in the joke. It would be nice if we laughed at ourselves more and get offended less. Keep on keeping on, Phil.
Shetland: Episode #7.6 (2022)
Wtf?
The reason I stopped watching American shows and films is the crap they shove down our throats. If I see one more thing about climate crazies I'm going to jump off the roof of my car. It's gas by the way. Until China Russia and India do something nothing is going to work. Our country (US)is going broke between pacifying the climate idiots and our border. This show started out great until this season. I'm so sick of the politics in shows. This is why I love shows like Queens of Mystery, Death in Paradise, Shakespeare and Hathaway, and the new mystery Mrs. Sidhu Investigates. Those are really good and you are entertained not preached to, even Father Brown and Sister Boniface aren't that preachy. I'm still going to finish this because I did get this far but lower the climate stuff down a few degrees and remember, the Ice Age was climate change.
Expedition Unknown: Lost City of the Gospels (2023)
Praying
I hope the people in this episode are ok. After Hamas brutally attacked Israel, I worried about the people Josh met. This episode was so informative about Bathsaida. Im Christian but over the years I don't remember names of important sites. I love this show and I've always wanted to go to Jerusalem but I now know I'll never make it there. This is why I think Hamas wants to kill all of the Jewish people because if it was just for property they wouldn't destroy something want to live in. They keep destroying Israel there will be no where to live. It breaks my heart this is happening because as I rewatch this episode I'm looking at these people I wonder if they are all still alive. I'm glad Josh came back to Israel to make this episode before anything was destroyed assuming any of it was.
The Cleaner: The Statue (2023)
Wow I thought I was watching a US show
I do not watch US shows here anymore. I either watch MDK shows on YouTube or a lot of British shows like Midsomer Murders, Father Brown, Sister Boniface, Death h in Paradise, etc.
The Cleaner is a great show but then there was this episode. I'm tired of people taking down statues and renaming military basis, schools, etc all in the name of equity. It's not equity by any means and when I was watching this episode, I was like great another country shoving their politics down my throat in a form of a show.
I did decide to continue to watch it and it was amazing. I think politicians and activists should watch it. It turned out to be a wonderful episode.
The Masked Singer: A Celebration of Elton John (2023)
A five is as good as it gets
Thing is this is a great show overall but the panel is wearing on my nerves. I really think they should change the panel every season or at least every couple of seasons.
They say the same thing just about every performance even with the bad singers. Robin Thicke is so overrated and extremely annoying. Jenny is always acting like she's been goosed, Ken and Nichole are ok but they have their annoying moments.
This show could be so much better if they'd just change the panel like they change the singers. Let the past singers be the panel.
Nick is a good host and I have loved all the singers especially those who don't have the pipes but get up there anyway.
History of the World: Part II (2023)
What did I just watch?
I pretty much love everything Mel Brooks did and I admit I loved Robin Hood Men in Tights but what did I just watch? There is no way Mel wrote any of this but if he did, someone rewrote it over him.
What occurred to me while watching this mess was how could there be a writers strike when writers these days write pure crap. It's not just this show but even movies are crap today. I have a dvr but rarely use it anymore because everything is like this show. I tried very hard to like it but it just wasn't funny. I feel bad for comedians these days. Just think of the Mel Brooks movies from the past that were so funny. They wouldn't be able to be made today. I'm surprised they didn't cancel Mel but they should cancel this show.
The Great Food Truck Race: Team-plosion (2023)
Wtf???
The show deserved a ten but the Khana food truck reminded me of a couple of bosses I had when I was younger. I don't like Maryam and the way she treated Jake was abysmal. She is a great example that toxic femininity IS alive and well.
The girl with her is just a yes ma'am chick. Then when The Blockhead coming back to be on their team was outrageous. I honestly did not think they could do that because none of the other seasons did it when they lost one.
I'm a little disappointed in this season because it just seemed like it was too politically correct. I haven't watched any American show when boxes are checked. I love Tyler but I doubt I watch anymore of this when this unprofessionalism is allowed on this show.
The Great Food Truck Race: Back Nine Barbecue (2019)
Vegan truck???
I'm shocked there is a vegan truck due to all the challenges and you know meat is going to be involved. It made no sense why these women are even on here. While I know there are a lot of vegans are out there but most people are not., especially on the coast. Sol Food can't seem to drive, either. I know there is more to vegan food than rabbit food but when you have 8 other trucks who have a lot of meat it shocked me they stayed in after the first episode. I want to know what insurance these food trucks have because my deductible is 500 dollars. Every insurance I ever had the least amount of deductible was always 500. This is a great show but it did surprise me Sol stayed in even after the deductible.
The Curious Case of Natalia Grace (2023)
What did I just watch
Personally I think everyone is guilty of something here. There is no way a good judge would assume a kids age. There are doctors out there who could run tests to see how old Natalia is.
Even if she was in her 20s how in the world could you abandon her in a high crime area not to mention in a second story apartment. The adoptive parents just really sucked. If Natalia was crazy there are ways they could've gotten her help. I don't believe one minute that institution they had put her in before would have refused her.
Going back to LaFayette, why didn't the director of this documentary tell that one guy to put on a shirt? He had a grotesque outie that made me fast forward and almost vomit.
I had to look it up to see if this was a mockumentary because everyone over acted so badly, even the woman who had her face hidden was over acting.
This was a horrible documentary and Michael blaming Kristine for everything just made him look even worse.
We Have a Ghost (2023)
What did I just watch?
I stopped watching the news, I got of all social media so all I have left is TV. These new movies only show one thing: division is the new fad. What is the point of making racial remarks against white people? Why do you have to insert all of the divisive language in every new movie. This one was no exception. I'm a huge Marvel fan and I love Anthony Mackie. I didn't like seeing him as a bad tempered father and husband he deserves better scripts. The positive is the actor who plays Kevin is awesome. The music is pretty good and Ernest is excellent.
I'm just hoping one day movies will bring people together rather than tearing them apart.
Ghosts (2021)
Don't bother
Just like Call Me Kat this American version is awful. This is what happens when America checks boxes. Why does everything have to be political? Patriarchy, racial issues, etc. If I wanted to be lectured to I'd watch The View. It's sad that a lot of us are fleeing American shows to British shows. Their mystery shows are better, their science fiction shows are better, and their comedies are better. All America does is political check boxing. I'm glad there is a writers strike, maybe they will realize how much they suck. I'd rather rewatch the British Ghosts and Miranda than continue with this American drivel.
Call Me Kat (2021)
Big disappointment
I do like the cast and I hated it when Leslie died but I tried to give it a chance. It's just not funny. The jokes about white folks started to get old really fast. If anyone joked about other races they'd been canceled.
I'm not going to compare it to Miranda because there is none. Even though it's based on Miranda, it's totally different. English humor and American humor are apples and oranges. I prefer the sarcastic dryness of English humor as opposed to obnoxious in your face that is American.
Ghosts is the same way. The British version of Ghosts is much better than the American version. American shows seem to be checking boxes while the English actually choose talent.
Isanghan byeonhosa Woo Young-woo (2022)
Wow just wow
I've been watching a lot of foreign shows due to how political the USA has gotten with ours. My husband, who is an attorney, usually hates attorney show but he loved Attorney Woo. I finally started watching the show and ended up actually binge watching it. I loved it!! We have The Good Doctor and Korea has The Extraordinary Attorney Woo. She is a wonderful character and while watching I laughed, I cried, and I wish we had more shows like this one. It's very light and funny but also serious in some parts. The actors were fabulous and I love to see how a culture is still respectful even these days. We could learn a lot from Korea. BTW, I saw where the women used a multi use balm on their faces and I bought it. I absolutely love it. I usually do not use beauty products but I do now with this balm. Thank you!
National Geographic Presents: Impact With Gal Gadot (2021)
I have it two stars for Gal
I don't have a problem with Gal hosting this but I do have a problem with one of the episodes. If Kayla wants to help trans women of color it's up to her. However, what about actual bio women. This is just another example how real women get screwed over because of political narratives. What about homeless bio women of color or homeless women, period? It's just so sad that bio women are getting overlooked AGAIN in order to protect men. We worked hard to get where we are today just to be kicked back down by men who identify being women. This is just plain crazy and totally disrespects bio women.
Fate: The Winx Saga (2021)
First episode
I like to read opinions before I watch something these days because everything is so damn political it's unbearable. I'm going to have to defend Bloom because she was raised by humans and she JUST found out she is a fairy. How would any one of y'all react if you just got powers?
I will say the kids do have a lot of angst but so do most teens when they get a bit of power like head cheerleaders and the top football player. They are kids so they are all confused about what's going on around them and that human kids. These kids are fairies with powers and that's a lot for them to take in.
I never saw Winx the cartoon but I have noticed a lot of kids shows that are remade on Netflix are very dark like Sabrina the Teenage Witch for example.
So far I've actually enjoyed the show and I'm old.
The Little Mermaid Live! (2019)
Lame
When people do live performances of other shows it's the whole show. The cartoon/live show was really poorly done. I was expecting it to be like Shrek the Musical but this was just cameo performances by.....not good at all. Disney has gotten pretty lazy in their productions.
The Masked Singer: Masking for a Duel - Round 2 (2022)
Wth?
What is up with Nicks wardrobe? He looks like a 70s pimp? Also, we know Robin can sing so he doesn't need to try and attempt to become the next Opera star.
Fantastic Beasts: A Natural History (2022)
Omg!!!
This is an absolutely wonderful show. Thank you Stephen Fry. You did a wonderful job hosting it. It is amazing to hear how these mythical beasts came to be.
House Hunters International (2006)
Great show
I love seeing the different countries and the new cultures the people on the show integrate into but a lot of these people are embarrassing with the way they act when they look at some of these homes. I know you want to get what you pay for but it's like some of these people didn't do any research before moving. They are so picky and I'm not talking normal pickiness it's extremely obnoxious. Where do they find these people because they are quite picky. Some of the kids with these adults are brats and should've been giving a talking to about sharing rooms. One couple were bragging about volunteering in an orphanage in Nicaragua but when it came to living modestly they weren't having it. These people are clueless.
Lucifer: Family Dinner (2021)
Love this
I didn't think anyone could play God better than Morgan Freeman but it's a tie with Dennis Haysbert. I love this cast.
Death in Paradise: Pilot of the Airwaves (2021)
Another amazing season so far
I'm so happy to see Florence back so that was a great surprise. I love Marlon but I really miss Ruby because she was such a ray of sunshine and funny. I loved her from day one. I think they did a great job bringing in Marlon in her stead. He's definitely quite a character. Bravo!!!
The Little Things (2021)
Wth???
I always looked forward to the day when you could either watch the movies in a theatre or directly to a streaming service but I'll tell you between this movie and Wonder Woman 84, I'm glad I didn't choose theatre to watch these sub par movies.
The Little Things def got better in the last ten minutes but that's it. The actors were great but the story was just pthhhh.
House Hunters International: American Dreaming in Amsterdam (2020)
As a Georgian....
What kills me about these shows is how obnoxious these women are. They are so selfish and I feel bad for the guys. I'm from Georgia and Blair is just like the other women on different episodes pure selfish. I do love the real estate lady in Paris. She tells it like it is. You know everything is big in Texas. Well America is Texas compared to Europe. If I hear someplace charm one more time I'll pull my hair out. I'm embarrassed being an American when these people act like this.
AJ and the Queen (2020)
Absolutely Fabulous
This is my very first rating on IMDb and I've had this app for years. I finally have an amazing show to write about. I love everything about this show because it has everything like love, hope, faith, tolerance just everything. It makes you laugh, cry, etc. RuPaul is awesome as Ruby Red and Izzy is precious as the precocious yet misunderstood kid. This an amazing show and if I could give it a 20+ I would.
