Don't Believe all the Negativity, Just believe yourself!
16 October 2008
When this film first came out, all it seemed to bring with it was negativity and bad reviews. Over and over people were talking about how unrealistic this movie was, or how it just seemed boring. When I tuned into this movie at nine a.m. this morning, there was nothing on and was willing to give it a shot. I am really glad I did. Not only is this one of the few children movies to make me tear up and cry, it is simply fantastic.

Now there isn't any cussing at all, nor anyone blowing up and shooting things, not any adult jokes I could see. Its just a simple movie. Simplicity to let your imagination make stuff out of it, simple at the fact that it is a movie for all ages. In which few agree. One of the few things I picked up from the film is how, as children we have such a wild imagination and as we grow older it fades away. In which it is entirely true. As a adult , we are told to grow up and quit the childish games. In which majority of the time when you let your inner child out, that is when you have the best fun. Another lesson learned is death. How one character is okay with his death, and ready because of the life he has lived.

Many of the the silly little things, can make anyone at any age laugh and smile. So for all those people who want to give it a try, go for it! You wont be to sorry. For all those people who hated it, I am sorry let your imagination flow. And for all those who loved it, you are truly living your life.

Warning: Spoilers
I have learned after watching POA, that time crunching and focusing on the important details in the book is a given for any movie in this series that will be less then two and a half hours. And in this latest installment that is exactly what we are given.

In this latest movie, we are quickly whisked away to the start where harry battles the demonters which was very impressive, then we are whisked away from twist and turns where he ends up at the Order's headquarters, which is lacking a screaming picture of Sirius mother but makes up for the house elf. This movie is very fast paced and with the new fresh faces with Umbridge, Tonks and Luna, who in my opinion steal the show, Umbridge with her evil disposition of course.

Sadly this movie lacks some mere moments as the Weasly's boys departure from the school a mild fireworks show, in which could of spent at least a couple more minutes or even a swamp, or more explaining at the near end for Harry and Dumbledore, and the lack of scenes between Harry and Sirius.

Still with all of those moments far behind, and me not focusing on the books, the movie overall wasn't that bad. Here is to hoping the DVD includes at least a half hour of deleted scenes or more. And being thankful that the video games for this will live up to the hype.

A Great Movie With A Big Heart
9 July 2005
Warning: Spoilers
Many people when this movie came out didn't really give it a chance since it was a Kevin Smith movie, I have always liked his movies, but this one was different for him, he wasn't wise cracking with Jay, there wasn't a comic book or a mall involved, it was a simple story. A man loves his job, then loves a women and still loves his job, his wife gets pregnant and he still loves his job, his wife hates that he loves his job more then here, and then she has the baby and dies, then he loses his job, and is torn between what he knows the wonderful work force, and what he doesn't know a brand new baby. This story centralizes around the main character and you can see how it affects the others. When I first heard the story line, I wasn't impressed but if you watch it with a open mind, you will love it. This movie is a wonderful piece of work that Smith has done, and yet not many credit it as wonderful. I recommend this movie for those with a open mind and willing to accept different things from a great director.

my thoughts
6 March 2005
Being from America I remember this film when I was very young, honestly it was great for my young mind. Then after the movie I read all the books, great books if you haven't read them you should.

Now as a adult I see many people have never heard of the movie and when they see it they mock it, but to me its still great this is one of few movies that are remotely close to the book , I do suggest to everyone who loves the books they get this movie or rent it, give it a try. What will it hurt, not much I know. Just because its a old film doesn't mean it will suck , and just because it didn't have a big TV budget doesn't mean it will be bad.
