I picked up the DVD of the first 30 episodes for five bucks for my 8 year old. We had no expectations other than its a dinosaur version of Pokémon and probably a rip off of it.
Honestly, the whole family was hooked on it from the first episode. We enjoyed it far more than Pokémon (that includes the adults as well as children!). I personally think it is way better than Pokémon, even if it is the same formula. At least dinosaurs are more relatable to something real than weird alien monster things. My son is now interested in dinosaurs.
The animation is as expected, but the dialogue is really funny (from 8 to 80 would enjoy it.
We are now watching the remaining episodes online.
It is totally underrated and written off too quickly.
