Perfect Match (2023– )
7/10
It's Okay, But...
25 March 2024
Season One:

I didn't mind the show. I like some of the people here. However, can we please stop giving Francesca air time? She's garbage. Another Kartrashian wannabe. She is so full of herself & only cares about herself. How many shows does she have to go on to prove she can't be trusted & nobody wants her???

I LOVE Daddy Nick & his "big Nick energy" from The Circle, as well as Joey Sasso. Shayne from Love Is Blind is a good-lookin man & I adore him, but it's funny he says he doesn't want drama when he IS the drama.

Do I think any of these couples are actually a Perfect Match & will make it out in the real world? Not really. But if you enjoy these Netflix reality romance/comp shows, it's entertaining.

Just please stop with Francesca. We've had enough!

Okay Till the End
1 December 2023
Warning: Spoilers
During this episode, Penny and Sheldon are spending time together doing this test that claims it's possible to get two human beings to fall in love with each other very quickly. Of course, Penny does not take things seriously until Sheldon expresses his disappointment. She finally does and they have a nice time. Did they fall in love? No, but it did seem to make their bond a little stronger. During the Q and A part of the test, Penny learns this day is actually Sheldon's birthday. Nobody in the group knew up until now, including Amy, and Sheldon explains it is because "the thought of people jumping out and yelling 'Surprise!' fills me with more dread than the words 'George Lucas Director's Cut'." So, what does Penny do, she tells the gang it's his birthday and when he enters his apartment everyone jumps out yelling "Surprise!" After their lovely time together and he trusts Penny with personal information. So disrespectful and rude! Every episode that bothers me seems to always be because of Penny. She is just not a good friend.

EXCELLENT, BUT...
4 November 2023
I'm currently in season two & so far I am really into it. I like that we're seeing & hearing actual footage, as opposed to poorly acted reenactments.

Honestly, so far, I only have one complaint: *BEEP BEEP*. If you're watching, you know what I'm talking about. I'm guessing it has to do with the police body cams? But it's soooo distracting. Some episodes feature it more than others, to the point it's irritating. It would be great if they either muted those or quieted em down during editing.

I watch a lot of true crime series, & have been for decades, & this one keeps me watching. I'm just hoping the *BEEP BEEP* goes away or lessens at some point.

Who Is This For?
4 November 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I'm a GenXer & I played a lot of Super Mario Bros as a kid. So, I was excited about this movie. But... it's-a NO for me.

The art style is cute & feels geared towards little ones. Yet, there's so much violence! From the very beginning of the movie, characters are being killed all over the place. Seems like it could be traumatizing for the little ones.

I love some of the actors in this, but even they couldn't save this movie for me. Jack Black's Peaches song was probably the best thing to come out of this.

I really thing if they'd been more specific in reagrds to whom their target audience is, this might've been a home run. I'm just glad I waited to watch on a streaming service vs actually paying specifically for this movie. Boo.

Informative & Thought Provoking
17 October 2023
First off, I have to say that I appreciate this series not mocking believers. So many people wanna label witnesses as wack jobs, yet some of those same people believe in "god" & the "miracles" a character in a book named Jesus performed.

How silly is it for people to believe this is the only planet in existence with sentient beings?! How would that even make sense??

Not everybody is gonna believe in aliens, UFOs, ghosts, spirits, the afterlife, etc. Yes, some people may make up stories for attention & some may be confusing psychological or medical episodes for something otherworldy.

I think if more people took the time to investigate these, & countless other, scenarios they might realize there's more out there. We are not alone. Just something to think about...

No Longer Relatable
12 June 2023
What made the Conner family great to watch was the fact they were so relatable. Lower middle class family? Hey, so are we! We understood their struggles. We felt like it might as well be us on the TV screen.

Then they win the lottery? Nope. No way. I guess maybe there were viewers that wanted to this family have some good luck, but the lottery is just too much.

There's no more struggle. There aren't any reasons to pull for them anymore. Welp, they've made it big now so who cares? That is exactly how we felt when the show originally aired in the 90s & exactly how we still feel today.

If you thought the show went off the rails in season 8, that was nothing. Boo.

Frankie is the Worst
10 June 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I was absolutely friggin elated when Caleb threw the BOB (Battle of the Block) comp! Frankie is trash and did not deserve any help.

When Frankie magically won the comp (it wasn't shown live so I think most Big Brother fans, myself included, believe it was rigged) I was so annoyed.

What is more annoying, though, is that Frankie decides to make everyone like him, he's gonna tell the houseguests he is Ariana Grande's brother.

What? That does not change the fact that he is scum (if you ask me, it adds to it). Did people really just forgive him because of the news?

You will find out in the next episode.

Roseanne: Maybe Baby (1994)

It Takes TWO
28 May 2023
Just finished this episode and wow. Roseanne was so out of line and absolutely disrespectful.

Sure, the baby is developing and growing inside the woman's body, but she did not create this new human all by herself.

Especially in a scenario such as this one, Dan has every right to be a part of the decision making. PERIOD. They are husband and wife, like come on!

Abortion is a very heated topic and, in my opinion, this was inappropriate for a sitcom. Roseanne's attitude about Dan's feelings (Oh my gosh, a man actually cares? Duh!) was so gross.

I sincerely hope every single person who played a part in this episode is absolutely ashamed. Men have a voice, too. Especially one the woman is in a relationship with. ESPECIALLY ONE A WOMAN IS MARRIED TO!!!

Zero Stars

What a bunch of garbage. Poor production, poor writing, poor robotic narrating, poor "info". I've seen way better videos on YouTube.

They keep bringing up Britney being sexy, like it's a bad thing, then celebrating her for it. What? They bring up rumors without giving any factual information. Clearly they couldn't get any credible people to interview who actually know literally anything about the situation. They keep showing the same images and videos over and over again... I could go on, but you get my point.

The people who made this are clearly not Britney fans. Which is fine, but being biased ruined it. What even was the point of this "documentary"? Hoping to be recognized by using this poor girl's name while it's trendy with the "hashtag free Britney movement"? There, I answered my own question.

Pitiful Petty Penny
27 April 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I'm sorry, I've gotten to the point I have to skip this entire episode because of Penny. It doesn't matter what the rule is for claiming the discovery. This is not even remotely Penny's career field and she really shouldn't even care. Raj is her friend and she should've supported him one-hundred percent for claiming something in his field, that affects his career. Petty, petty Penny. Over the course of the series, every one of the main characters do things to each other that I would hope no one, in real life, would accept and continue the friendships. This is just one example. She has zero knowledge on the subject and she could have just quietly let Raj have a win. Shame on her. Technically, shame on the writers.

If I Want To Watch a Musical I'll GoTo the Theater
20 December 2022
Seriously, how is this getting such high ratings? I absolutely detest all these shows that feel the need to do a musical episode. Gross! Nobody asked for this!

I watch Buffy because it's dark like my soul. If I wanted something happy & bright, I'd turn on some kids show. This is the exact opposite of what I want from a Buffy episode.

This is just as bad as the occasional artsy episode. Stop. That's not what Buffy the Vampire Slayer is & neither is this garbage.

I think most of the highest rated reviews are from people who aren't true Buffy fans & haven't watched any other episodes. Otherwise, these high reviews simply don't make sense.

Every time we get to this episode in our binges, we roll our eyes hard & brush past it. Two major thumbs down for this episode. SKIP. IT.

Snoozefest. Don't Bother.
4 December 2022
They're asleep, I'm asleep, we're all asleep. I don't know what's worse: this episode or the musical episode. This is so slow & boring, I'd rather be doing my taxes. Is this supposed to be artsy? Does any of this pertain to anything else in the series? I'll never know cause it's not holding my attention.

I really nothing else to say about this episode, but evidently they're now requiring wordier reviews. How else can I convey how much I absolutely despise this episode. I do not like it. This is not for me. This episode seems totally pointless. It's just a waste of time. Just a big waste of everybody's time.

Somehow Each Episode Gets Worse
23 July 2022
They're walking around in the forest, at night, & hearing things. Seeing something move. Seeing glowing eyes. Could it possibly be animals? Insects? Other people? Of course not! It has to be Bigfoot! This guy who's out there with Kesha & Jojo is just a bad actor. I just don't think I can give this show any more chances. Only if I see that her celebrity guest is someone I really like. I might watch for them. MIGHT.

A Transgendered Spirit? Really?
10 July 2022
Kesha keeps saying she likes to be scared, but then nothing scares her, & ultimately everything scares her so she doesn't do much.

I liked Whitney in this episode. She wasn't overly obnoxious & seemed pretty serious about the situation. Until she decides she's talking to a transgendered spirit. What?! Yeah, I'm done with this one.

I MIGHT try another episode, some new shows are slow to get going, but we'll see...

Gimme More!
8 July 2022
While there have been some interesting haunts at businesses, it's always the house visits I care more about. Helping families is so important. I really, really hope they keep this show going.

I do kinda wish Zak was actually there, though. I don't know the reason he's just Zooming & it's probably not my business. I hope all is well with him.

If you prefer the home visits, I do recommend giving this one a try!

Huge waste of an episode. Blossom is ill & dreams she's a snotty "rockstar". That's it. That's the episode. Boring & pointless. Her dream is in black & white. I guess that makes it "artsy"? PASS.

I had no idea Stride Gum had a 40-minute long commercial! & the music was by One Republic!

Even the party goers looked bored as all get out. This "episode" was a major miss. Unless Stride Gum & One Republic really get ya going, just skip this one.

STROBE LIGHT WARNING!
14 August 2021
On the off chance someone checks viewer reviews before watching, I wanted to leave a warning that strobe lights are used late in the episode. You'll know it's coming when Deb approaches a house by herself at night. If you're sensitive to it, like I am, just be prepared to look & listen for a few minutes. Otherwise, just another great episode.

4 July 2020
The episode is in French with subtitles. Why does Netflix continue to do this with their shows? Just make a separate international version of the series. Most people don't want to read a show. Stop it!

Not Sew Much
1 July 2020
I like Alyssa okay as an actress, but as a host & judge here... yeah, no. Feels very awkward & forced. Shouldn't a fashion/runway expert be doing this? The judges' voting seems way off, too. Like, they're picking the people more than the designs. It honestly doesn't feel like all-stars. More like rejects. No hate to the designers, but some of the work seems so subpar. At least I know it's not just me feeling this way. I want the old Project Runway back. Sigh.

Season 1 Was Good. Don't Bother with Season 2.
21 June 2020
Warning: Spoilers
We re-binged watched season one to prepare for season two. We actually enjoyed season one. It had a good mix of action, humor, magic, werewolves, etc. The characters had depth & intelligence. Netflix wasn't shoving gay & overly feminist storylines. Then comes season two. All of a sudden, these characters we actually liked have been dumbed down. They've become frat-like knuckleheads. They've Netflixed the show. Let's make more people gay. Let's toss in some people of color who honestly don't belong. Let's rattle on about something being sexist when it's simply not. A lot of things make no sense. People are doing things so out of character. That might have made sense while some memories had been removed, but as soon as they got them back they should be themselves again. They're just not. I don't know if Netflix brought in new writers or what. But we're a few episodes into season two & I don't know if we even wanna continue. Thanks for ruining a good thing, Netflix.

The Biggest Loser is Back!
9 March 2020
I was really excited to see this show is back. It's so inspirational & motivational, especially as someone who's on a weight loss journey of her own right now. I do, however, have a few problems with this show.

The first, the music. Awful. Like, YouTube awful. Maybe they're doing it for the millennials? I don't know. The background (no voice) music is fine, but every song with singing included... UGH. Not for me.

The second, is a problem I've always had with the show: they're giving those of us at home unrealistic expectations. Most of us at home can't afford these trainers or gyms, etc & aren't living with said trainers & a team of others in the same boat as you. I don't know about anybody else here, but at my weekly weigh-in, I NEVER get the big numbers they get on this show. No matter how hard I work. So, I feel like those of us at home are actually almost let down by our 1 or 2 lb lost in a week. Which, by the way, is totally acceptable & healthy. So, as motivating & inspiring as it can be to watch, it can also be discouraging for us at home. That's just the truth.

I sincerely hope the contestants are learning healthy ways to eat & live. I know this show has saved lives. I hope it does the same for some of the viewers, as well. If you're on a weight loss journey, just as I am, just keep doing your best! Do not compare your progress to anyone on this show. Or, for that matter, anyone else you may know IRL or on social media. Your journey is yours & yours alone. You've got this!
