Pitch Perfect 2 (2015)
Ridiculously boring
I'm sorry, but this movie sucked. The first one was nothing special but this was a drag. The reviews were average to good on meta critic and rotten tomatoes but they were wrong. This movie is really predictable. Once you see the setup to the scene you can basically figure out the whole scene. The characters were more annoying and the plot was presented in an unfunny scene. The only source of comedy was racism and low brow humor. They just reused fat jokes. The new cast member was annoying and no one really developed as a character. The movie tried too hard to be funny and it failed to be funny. I was bored for that movie. The problem was resolved because they're the protagonists even though the Bella's weren't good enough. The rest of the people in the theater were young Tweens and they were the only ones laughing and enjoying it. I'm only 15 and I didn't enjoy it. Most of my gal friends thought it was hilarious but I don't see how. It's good if you're a tween. I'm sorry if you disagree but this movie could've been so much more
Frozen (2013)
Overrated but not bad
This movie was exceptional. It's stuffed with clichés like Anna's pursuit of love. In the third song "the first time in forever" she was said "what if I meet the one?" I rolled my eyes and was not pleased in the direction that this movie was taking. I don't understand who ran the kingdom and how Anna was never outside? After not seeing each other in 10 years, Anna decides to spend the coronation night with some dude she just met instead of talking with Elsa. Elsa was justified in getting mad at Anna for accepting marriage to Hans. I don't like the powers Elsa has. Where did they come from? Instead of the trolls making her forget everything locking her away until coronation they should have told Elsa to just say no whenever Anna wanted her to "do the magic". The powers were confusing because they did not explain the powers' abilities. She can do snow and ice. Sounds reasonable but then she can make a dress...a dress. Made from what? She also gained a full face of makeup at the final line of "Let it go". I don't like Olaf and he was slightly annoying. He was sort of funny but is a little in-your-face with his introduction. When we were introduced to Kristoff he was cool and calming but I was baffled when he threw an inappropriate joke into the mix. I like him but I knew Hans would be evil once Anna started showing minor affection to him. The rock trolls' answer to Anna's problem was "an act of true love" I was seriously annoyed because that is as generic as it gets when it comes to Disney. If I want to see a groundbreaking film that people make it out to be I want to see the reasons why it's groundbreaking. It's not as good after watching it 3 times. The ending was weird because Hans' sword did not shatter or dent the ice but the sword shattered. I didn't like that. The plot was unclear and it relied on the soundtrack to make the viewer appreciate the film. I like the tone, music, and likable characters, so it's a 6/10
Kickin' It (2011)
Good
This show is one of the better children's sitcoms I've watched in a long time. I watched only a couple episodes of hannah Montana and I genuinely liked it. I think icarly was good and drake and Josh was fantastic. Suite life on deck and pair of kings were really funny and I enjoyed them. They've been progressively getting worse like victorious, lab rats, and crap shows like ANT Farm, sonny with a chance, and basically anything on Disney channel and nickelodeon. Kickin' it's previews and advertisements were weak. I watch the first episode and I was utterly impressed with the use of violence and martial arts rather than just one punch. I liked that they showed action but I'm confused with they didn't rate this show TV-Y7(FV) because there are fight scenes and violence in the majority of the episodes. They've gotten better until season 4. The fight scenes in seasons 2 and 3 were really good and it was entertaining. I watched 7 episodes of season 4 and there were no fight scenes in any of them. I was glad that Eddie's character was written because his character wasn't funny, interesting, or any physical capabilities. I was extremely saddened when Kim left because I liked her as a character as a positive, sassy, and confidently awkward person. Her relationship with jack was glossed over a lot but I wanted to see character development. Milton and jerry are annoying because their characters cannot be worked with. They can't fight but Disney XD can't trick me into thinking he can fight. Jerry was just obnoxious and idiotic. He can be funny but he just comes off as irritating. Jack's character is especially weak. Him being an expert close to Rudy's was bad because it made Rudy look like a bad sensei for him just showing up and being able to kick just as much butt as Rudy. Jack being a "flawless" character leaves no room for development or believability that he's in danger or has a problem. Rudy is a great sensei as where a mentor is supposed to discipline his students but that is played on as he's the most immature. He puts himself into weird situations and reacts as immaturely as possible. He can fight which is good and expected from a sensei. He's a funny likable character. He's my favorite. The show is genuinely funny with some good ideas.
Power Rangers Operation Overdrive (2007)
Remedial at best
I'm being generous when I give this review a 3/10. There's a lot of issues with this season but some are forgivable. The budget was a factor that dragged it down because they couldn't work with certain areas. The budget is not an excuse for lazy writing, poor direction, inconsistent pacing, weak characters, and abysmal action. Watching this show and only having Mack develop was a huge let down. The characters have flat personalities especially the villains. Tyzonne is a character that had some work done in his introduction but nothing later. His backstory and origins were interesting along with is introduction. I did not appreciate Dax. His actor is pure crap. He's too spastic and makes pauses in his clumsy delivery. It's odd for someone who graduated the Australian school of arts. He has no excuse. He could barely hide his accent. His character's input was his references to movies. He's obnoxious. Ronny is annoying because she's too happy-go-lucky to be tolerated. She has zero development and is a boring character as a whole. She was more focused on the vehicles which sort of ties in with her occupation. Rose was okay as in she wasn't stupid or annoying. She's smart and has a different backstory which is newly good. She was decently acted. Will was obnoxious and snobby. I did like his slight turnover to miratrix but that failed as she was able to release Kamdor. He wasn't stupid or annoying but he needed development. Tyzonne was poorly acted and the emotional backstory felt forced. He's a mercurion but he should have been more useful knowing the fearcats and other villain factions. Mack is pretty good. His personality is adventurous and determined to know what's right for him. His character occurred at the end and it was well handled. I like him as a character but doesn't seem like a great leader. His dad didn't approve of him being a ranger so why did everyone listen to him at first? Spencer and Hartford were not much to work with. Spencer is witty and funny, while Hartford was just kind of annoying and secretive. The villains were bad for their simple cliché personalities. They were all evil for just being evil. Miratrix and Kamdor wanted to rule while the fearcats wanted to destroy it as a whole. Moltor and Flurious were the main villains but have boring personalities. Done with characters. The action scenes are boring with the lack of martial arts and just replaced them with explosions. The special effects were also weak too. The plot was fairly interesting as they had to travel to find the jewels. I did not like that they all didn't distinguish themselves. Finding the artifacts and having them be useful to find other artifacts made it look interesting. I liked it a lot. The pacing is bad as things go too quickly so that we don't have time to invest in the single episode stories. The team up was pretty bad. The other rangers that showed up was cool but the overdrive team was stupid. They did nothing to earn their powers back and they were not justified into giving up on operation overdrive. The acting is overall terrible say for few moments scattered throughout. Overall the season is bad except for a few good moments like Mack's character arch and the treasure hunting plot. I think Megaforce is the worst season but this didn't do much better.
Captain Phillips (2013)
i held my pee for the entire because i didn't want to miss a second of it
I knew tom hanks would deliver his role well, but this time he plays his character perfectly; smart, witty, and real. This movie was one of the most realistic movie I've seen. The emotions were real, the intentions were made clear for even teenage viewers can understand, and the acting is superb. The pirates were fiercely intimidating throughout because of their seriousness and lack of fear. The pacing is exquisite. Tom hanks serves his role. He doesn't develop powers or knew martial arts to kick their asses, but relied on hope and his quick thinking. I was pulled into the movie from start to finish. I didn't want to leave. I was so happy when the ending concluded because it was so good and heartwarming. No it doesn't contain intense violence. It was written for suspense and they did well. I recommend this movie to everyone and please see it
Night of the Living Dead (1968)
a legend with only so little
This movie casted in 1968 was a movie like no other. Zombies just wandering around and attack. The budget was less than $200,000 to produce a movie. He did it and it became one of my favorite horror movies. With such a low budget this could've been a laughable cheesy comedy. The movie begins with Barbara and tom they are brother and sister. They came up to visit the graves and got there late because tom didn't wake up early enough. He messes with her saying they're coming to get you and points at a clumsy confused wanderer approaching them slowly. Barbara walks up to the man to apologize for toms immature behavior. He grabs her and cries for toms help. He fights the wanderer but tom is knocked out by hitting his head on a gravestone on the ground. Barbara runs away as fast as she can. She takes the car but couldn't find the keys and then realizes that they're in toms coat pocket. The wanderer pursues her nd Barbara hits the car into neutral rolling down a hill while steering. She crashes into a tree and runs to a house locking everything up still in fright of zombie and her brother. She meets Ben a black fellow who is very resourceful and boards up the house. He makes plans and discovers two couples and a child in the basement. One man wants to stay in the cellar with hid injured daughter and wife while the other couple choose to stay upstairs. Ben and the bald man have made many disputes about plans and stuff. The news tell people to stay indoors and the zombies will die from a gunshot to a head or fire. The zombies come from a radiated spacecraft that crashed into earth releasing radiation to bring the dead to life to feed of human flesh. The other man who looks like Matt Leblanc goes outside with Ben with his wife chasing along to fuel the car outside and get help for the others. The gas leaked onto the car and Ben's torch to avoid the zombies lights up the car with the man and wife in. They try to escape but the car explodes before they killing them. Ben retreats indoors wear the bald headed man locked behind him. The bald man stands at the cellar door staring at the door as Ben is begging to come in. Ben smashes open the door staring at the bald man in the eye and beats him up. The number of zombies increase by the hundreds. The lights go out and the zombies start to break down the barriers and Barbara and the bald mans wife to block the door while the bald man and Ben take the windows. The bald man takes the gun but aims at Ben because he feels Ben is dooming them all. The barricade at the door broke and the first zombie Barbara sees is tom and cries and stands still and dies. Ben sees the gun pointed and fights of the man and shoots him. He stumbles downstairs to his daughter and dies. The wife runs downstairs in fright to see her daughter eating her father's corpse. She cries and lets her daughter stab her to death. Ben is the only one left. The girl goes upstairs and Ben tosses her aside and travels to the cellar. He blocks the doors and is afraid. Just before the door js knocked down, daybreak hit and the zombies left. The mother zombie and father zombie were killed by Ben immediately. Ben wakes up and looks out the window and gets shot in the head mistakenly took for a zombie. The govern, ent assigned men on the streets with guns to go out and kill all the zombies they could find that was setup through the night. The end. The writing was superb and was very intense and I loved it. Watch it
Power Rangers Lost Galaxy (1999)
its pretty good but flawed
Power rangers lost galaxy was a pretty good series but there are a few parts I dislike. The series opens with a new cast besides bulk and professor phenomenous. I like the new cast Idea because you can make new personalities and make new story arches. The first two episodes are great introducing the characters and even giving Leo the red ranger and sense of sympathy. His brother mike returns as the magna defender. The magna defender is cool because he wants to destroy villains for his sons death but is willing to attack the rangers if they get in his way. Kai is my favorite character. Damon is my least favorite. The suits look cool especially with the Charlie brown zig zag line across the chest. The acting is pretty good. The theme song is okay but the my favorite part is the chorus singing "AH". Between the verse and the chorus. Its catchy. The sting-lingers are really cool looking. There is like one unmorphed fight in the entire series which is sadly disappointing due to the inabilities of the actors. The sting-lingers were in fact stronger because they force the rangers to morph when they fight and they sometimes have captured them. Trakeena is trained by villamax which make two great villains. Deviot is a robotic villain very loyal to scorpius trakeenas father. In space brought viewers back into power rangers after turbo almost killed it. Lost galaxy had its good moments and its bad. It wasn't the best recovery series but it was still good
Power Rangers R.P.M. (2009)
rpm puts the viewers in gear
Rpm was the strongest Disney series since SPD. Im glad they cut the episodes down because they couldn't have fit as much filler in the season. Rpm had a strong story that kept me invested through the season. On more than a couple of occasions they ended an episode with a cliffhanger which helps show the continuity. The acting was above average for any TV show especially for kids. The characters were given back stories and had at least one episode dedicated to it in the beginning of the season to see their roots and their growth since then. They have a lot of development. The villains were fair. Tenaya was the best because of her back-story and her own thoughts and verge of knowing who or what she is. Venjix was an okay villain. He was powerful but he wasn't an actual being and doesn't have much of a personality. The action was fast-paced with suitable soundtrack. They sometimes burn out the foot soldiers and make car noises to compliment the car theme. There were a lot of unmorphed fights which was more impressive because I've seen rpm enough to know that the actors do the fight scenes when unmorphed. The unmorphed fights haven't been used much since in space which is good to get back to pure martial arts instead of sentai footage. They story was really intriguing and good comic characters. The zords were ultimately stupid and looked stupid but that really doesn't matter. The show took a dark turn to it and it was good. A post apocalyptic future was a great setting. Overall rpm was a great series and I recommend it. 10/10 and the season will get in gear
It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia (2005)
words cant explain the hilarity
Always sunny is by far one of the most unpredictable sitcoms on television. Their ideas are good but their egos and incompetence slows them down. I can never tell who is the smartest because they have their moments of intellect and thousands of missteps. I believe Charlie is the least selfish because he doesn't want to do anything bad for personal gain. Being the least educated and least hygienic he is extremely gullible because his peers are just a tad more intellectual. Frank is Dennis and Dee's father. Heentered in the second season so he could relive the glory days. He has a sexual thing a lot and has a ton of money. He is the sneakiest by coming up with bizarre plans and his skills don't make clear sometimes. Dennis is apparently the looks. He is a man whore who takes advantage of women by lying and sociopath. He lives with mac and has the biggest ego of being the smartest and being a god. He thinks he's the most attractive man alive. Mac is rooming with Dennis. Mac refers to himself as the brains. His ideas are good in concept but never succeed. He doesn't concern anything unless he's involved in it. His ego is to be a super buff guy and being the greatest martial artist meanwhile he can't fight or he's too cowardly to. His name is Ronald MacDonald. Dee is Dennis's twin sister. She is emotionally beaten by the others about everything. She is a giant bird because she's annoying and ugly. Their actions and incompetence gives the humor and the situations they put themselves in is so funny. Watch it
Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie (1995)
its not that bad
I admit as a 14 year old and watching it its pretty good. Critics don't really understand that power rangers is a kids show and making a movie out of it is just making a kids movie. Its underrated for what people give it. I like it because of the strong action although it was only occasional because it didn't want a lot of violence. The action was good and the story was well paced. The soundtrack score is phenomenal and the acting was good. I understand why people wouldn't like it. For starters is the overall budget. The costumes for the villains looked stupid and the CGI zord fight was unconvincing. The slapstick was ridiculous along with the jokes. I don't really like the suits with its armor because it looked silly. They could've done better but it could've been worse
