Beyond the Valley of the Dolls (1970)
best of the bad!!!
A far superior film to it's predecessor, Beyond the Valley of the Dolls isn't really a sequel. It's almost a parody of the original Valley of the Dolls. It merely plays on similar themes associated with fame and the downward spiral it can cause. Directed by breast obsessed Russ Meyer, who helped script it with famous film critic Roger Ebert, Beyond comes across as much more of a seventies exploitation film. Filled with drugs, sex, rock n' roll, stereotypes, murder, fighting, and plenty of cheese, i would have to say that Beyond the Valley of the Dolls is probably the best bad movie ever made. An extremely entertaining film nobody should miss!!!
Two Thumbs Up, Ebert!!
Dark Angels (2001)
Sydnee as a vamp??? Sounds good to me!!!
Sydnee has long been my favorite porn star. I can barely get through one scene with her in it. Those long legs, huge perky breasts, perfect behind, long dark hair, and sexy moaning voice???? oooooooooooh yeah Any man with a pulse would have to agree with me on this one.
The thing with this flick though is that she is a vampire. Fangs and all!!! No kidding!!! If any men out there are anything like me at all and have a vampire fetish and I know that there is lots of you, then this is your flick. There is one scene in this movie that is so hot that I still haven't seen the the climax to the scene. I feel so dirty!! Hew!!
Dolls (1986)
Great 80's Horror Camp!!!
Dolls!! What to say about Stuart Gordan's Dolls? Most people remember director Stuart Gordan for great classic horror flicks like Re-Animator(1985) and From Beyond(1986) but often overlook 1987's Dolls. Many who even have seen it found it disappointing...
I, on the hand, completely disagree. The director, who is also known for later efforts such as Fortress, Castle Freak, and more recently Dagon, goes for a very creepy Gothic feel in this movie. An unusual theme for Gordan. But I feel he pulls it off quite effectively. Add to that several interesting characters(creepy old doll maker, cute little girl, thirty something kid at heart, overbearing parents, and my personal favorite, the two thieving punk rocker girls), cheesy dialogue and corny plot line(dolls waking up at night and killing all very violently, with the exception of the innocent and young at heart), dark atmosphere, a few moments to truly creep you out, spooky theme music, and some very entertaining stop motion animation and that's a great movie. I think I like it more and more every time I view it.
