The Blacklist: Raymond Reddington (No. 00): Good Night (2023)
Extremely disappointing.
Don't get me wrong, Red dying was the only acceptable ending for his character, I get it... But trampled by a bull!? He could have just died of exhaustion, lying on the field, contemplating his life and choices... I bet people would find that much more acceptable, giving his condition. And that wasn't even worse, the ending was extremely abrupt! Don, completely emotionless, finds him and that's it, roll the credits... No aftermath, no wrapping of characters, nothing! We want to know what happens to all the characters, we don't want to guess. And speaking of, we all know the theory of whom Reddington really was, but after 10 years, the public deserved a concrete answer.
Toute première fois (2015)
Really offensive
I'll keep it short as possible. The idea of a gay "turn" heterosexual is absurd! A movie where a heterosexual guy discovers himself gay is acceptable, since it is the sexuality already presumed from birth. A gay guy has already gone through the "finding himself" phase, sexuality is not a back-and-forth thing. Now, there are two scenes in this movie that make me disgusted, and both are with the bald "macho". The first one is when he tries to comfort his friend by referring themselves as the "normal guys", saying that that's the way heterosexual guys are. And the second one is on the plane, in which he goes to rescue the main character, so that he does not have a "relapse" when a gay guy flirts with him.
Beira-Mar (2015)
Not really interesting...
I'm Brazilian and I'm more qualified to judge their performance based on the fact that I know the language and local customs. With that said, it lacks interaction between the characters, there's too much slow and uninteresting monologues, plus only one of them babbles a few words during the very few dialogs that they properly have. Even worse is that, usually, only one of them is framed on the scene while we can only hear the other babbling (really, if there were no subs in English I would not be able to hear, let alone understand some of the lines). I also should mention, their speech is missing a lot of acting in it. Finally, when something interesting happens (basically the whole reason for watch the movie), it does not last five minutes and then suddenly the movie ends.
