Rick and Morty ripoff
17 March 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I am sorry if Rick and Morty was not the first thing that suggested multi-random-everything-possible-universe successfully, through interdimentional Cable episode. If it wasn't I wanna appreaciate the original ideas of how to make a hillarious joke and the tear-squeezing drama at the same time out of the multi-random-universe-whatever concept. In this movie there's slight twist in the drama line but it still borrowed the main eye-catching idea of how to tell the story form the Rick and Morty. I don't understand why they give 8 stars on this movie and even Academy Awards. Think about it. It's just a fun episode of a cartoon that aired quite long time ago and now only acted by real actors.

No one eats pig head without processing
10 August 2020
Warning: Spoilers
1. The intensity of training is very low for any soldier and doesn't need ex-special force or ex-UDT to conduct the training. It's just a show program which could become a good resource for right-wing extremest to suggest war and becoming soldiers could be fun in some way. 2. No Korean eats a pig head in a way shown in this episode, either scorched or boiled. It's just for the annual type of ritual done in specific case such as construction site or launching a new business where the boss or the board respects the traditional myth. However it needs further process to become edible dish. I wonder if this trainer really understands Korean culture. He may wanted to share cultural shock he went through as a once-foreigner when he returned to Korea and joined army after living long years in the US since his childhood, and by that he and BBC may agreed to put some bizarre, primitive n creepy feeling in the scene but that's pretty unusual. Korean soldiers may hold the traditional ritual with those specific foods on the table if soldiers go for suicidal mission or anything numerous casualties to be expected, but it's not official and would never happen in normal training sessions.

Becky (II) (2020)

Disaster in plot
28 June 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Not sure if they are going to make a sequel and made this movie just to present background of a new type of devilish kid heroin. Whether that's the case or not the movie failed to show how Becky builds up to her explosion or removal of emotion caused by her lost mom, unexpected step mother, and death of her father. Nothing explained about the key and background or purpose of the gang but Nazi tattoo on the leader's body only. Simply it's like watching the first episode of a new TV series where you often witness extremely shocking scenes and hints that make you want to watch the next episode for follow ups. This is Kick-Ass without hero costume and least enough background which makes it almost like child porn only required to satisfy watchers' need for bloody justice by telling nasty head-shredding revenge story but by a child protagonist.

It's commercial movie to promote FF XIV
18 May 2020
Warning: Spoilers
This can be seen as a different type of video game movie for fans such as World of Warcraft movie that really supports its players to feel yourself following the right mainstream or simply feel more lively and excited when they play the game. However It doesn't show much of story inside the game or the universe. Rather it has a storyline that the son successfully win a commercial project from a noodle company by telling story that the food meant more than just the food when it connected it between his father and himself which is followed that this movie another long commercial that FF XIV might have been and would be a tool that can connect relationship between generations or people in general "as you all have shared more or less of the similar experience of playing FF since old days in Japan regardless of your age, status or sex". For this purpose this should have follow the structure of Ready Player One, but again as it was made to promote FF XIV or the entire series it could not employee better VR world where it gives more solid reasons that your once workaholic but retired old school father or even the shy but gorgeous girl from your workplace find it agreeable place to participate in whatever relationship you wish it to be.

Nobody Knows (2020)

Harley Quinn is enough to suggest a distorted view of "woman power".
23 March 2020
Let alone the poor plot, this show failed to address gender equality even with the casting one of the most popular n successful actresses for her charismatic role as an elite Ivy league consultant in her previous TV show, Sky Castle. In the first episode of Nobody Knows she plays homage to a hero from movie Leon with a teenage boy sitting on staircase and later protected by her which reflects the relationship between Leon and Matilda. The TV series seems to be made just to show women can and should do whatever men do. I am okay with women-empowering movement and that various movies and TV shows can be made and distributed widely as an educational method. However this show is pointless making it a total fantasy where a skinny woman without any athletic trait beats 'evil' men heavier than herself and full of steroid hormone, assuming their violent characteristics, that is even among men told to be a key to win a fight. She doesn't do jujitsu or shows any other specific martial art skill that helps overcome the weight difference. Writing a fantasy story of physically powerful woman and relatively weak men does not help mentally empower women or educate youngsters or people to change their views as we know men are physically stronger, at least currently, and sex separation in sports events proves the fact. This show blocks logical thinking of how women or weaker persons in general can overcome physically threatening or terrifying situation or the fear itself but only focus on spiritual victory and vicarious pleasure which will bring watchers back to reality when the show ends and no actual effort can be made as the methods and the goal are all rooted in fantasy story. Women empowerment should be discussed with many different situation not just encouraging violence, conquering, controlling or not-caring emotion. Nobody Knows is just another "mirroring" movie, the most passive way of addressing how men's or a society's biased common sense has been felt, and they're too lazy to discuss and show what women need, desire or should do, and what members of the society have to think and act to bring changes. Obviously some haven't yet developed a taste to watch a teen-age boy on the staircase to become half naked and dance in front of the heroin to look like a man, or a taste of becoming a badass queen of the hill sweeping entire gang members alone to prove herself stepping out of the same sex competitors.

Mermaid Down (2019)

Rating credibility for this film has been sabotaged.
22 December 2019
I often pick a movie to watch by looking up ratings and mostly I have become to agree on the ratings after watching the movie. Above 7 is a quite good movie to spend time on and below 6 is many times not worth watching. Some of Indian movies were rated too high having 2~3 more stars than they were supposed to get, otherwise mostly rating seemed credible. In recent 2 years I have started seen blind 10 stars with commentaries of similar style by numbers to get a new movie rated unthinkably higher than it is. After watching this movie I feel the rating has been fabricated by the same advertising efforts. Only other possibility should be a bunch of initial victims who wasted their time on this movie hooking another by giving 10 stars, which I am not going to follow giving one star hopefully to balance the misleading rating.
