Mystery 101: An Education in Murder (2020)
I love this team!
I love this duo... They have great chemistry and you can tell that they work well together. This was a great mystery that had you guessing the whole way through. It was also nice to see their relationship develop and grow - - despite her father :-) I can hardly wait for the next installment! Hallmark, please keep them coming!
Just My Type (2020)
Bethany is always fun
Bethany is always fun and she did not disappoint! This was a clever one. The title is very fitting for the subject. I liked the quiet nature of how their relationship developed and of course, it had a great ending! Hallmark, you did it again!
Fireproof (2008)
Story matters more than anything else
This is a great story! Dramatic, personal, and spiritual. Over the past 11 years I have watched this film many times. And I have come to believe that even though the production values are a bit weak, as well as some of the acting, it is the story that matters most. Marriage matters! Christ matters! Both are worth fighting for! This film deserves all the success it is had over the years. Thank God for Sherwood Pictures and the Kendrick brothers. I can hardly wait for their next film.
Bottled with Love (2019)
Hallmark Channel Delivers Again With Andrew Walker!
Definitely one of Andrew Walker's best Hallmark vehicles! Very nice movie in the spirit of "Shop Around the Corner," "She Loves Me," and "You've got Mail" with that fabulous Hallmark heart and feel. Nice depth. Check out the same lead pairing in Lifetime's 2017 "Snowed-Inn Christmas." However, I like them both much better Hallmark-style! Congratulations on a brand new Hallmark hit!!
A Wrinkle in Time (2018)
The book is better- and this movie could've been better, too!
The only reason I give it three stars is because there is enough with original story for those of us who read the book. We can glean the authors original intent. This movie could have been so so so much better (given moviemaking technology today), but it threw away the heart of the story. The only redeeming factor was that it kept the right answer-mom, dad, family, home, and love :-)
The Slipper and the Rose: The Story of Cinderella (1976)
A longtime favorite take on Cinderella
I actually fell in love with this movie when I was a freshman in college. I saw three times that year! I really enjoy this take on the Cinderella story. Yes, I confess it is a little campy. But I also like its attempt at being a little more "real life" than other versions of the story. And the music is great! One of my favorite songs ever, is the Slipper and the Rose Waltz. If you like the Cinderella story... You should enjoy this version.
Love on Safari (2018)
One of Hallmark's best - Location was AWESOME
Definitely one of Hallmark's best! I hope they find a way to go back to Africa again someday. And, as always, Lacey is a gem. A keeper!!
Extinct (2017)
Good job BYUTV and OSC
Almost all the actors are young. I suppose this is an attempt to draw younger audience to BYUTV. However, most of them do a pretty good job. A couple are a little stiff. Overall, what it lacks in production value it makes up for in clever storytelling. Great job of incorporating principles such as force, free will, and liberty and that freedom is worth fighting for! I can't wait for season two!
The Decoy Bride (2011)
Quiet, fun, quirky, and very romantic
For those reviewers who did not like this charming romantic comedy, I could not disagree more. The subtleties and quiet charm of this movie are excellent. It is quiet, fun, quirky and very romantic. I really enjoyed Kelly Macdonald's performance as well as David Tennant. Their banter was priceless. I believe one of the reasons this film works for me is the very real fact that overcoming conflict is what helps create solid relationships. No, it is not a perfect movie
But I can overlook its weaknesses because it's just strengths are so evident. If you like subtlety and charm, give this film a try. If you are like me, you will watch it multiple times.
